Horror Dr. Lecter Invites you to Dinner. The ''Hannibal'' Thread - Part 5

Those promos are amazing. As part of Jack and Alana's carnival of mess-ups, I could definitely see everything leading to [BLACKOUT]Dolarhyde and Hannibal escaping together.[/BLACKOUT] After all, Fuller said that the season ends with the characters in very peculiar situations.

I'm thinking it'll be more along the lines of [BLACKOUT]Will and Hannibal escaping together. Dolarhyde is almost definitely a dead man. It's never been about him. It always comes down to Will and Hannibal.[/BLACKOUT]

****, I love this show.

Yeah, I kind of don't want it but I could see Hannibal finally getting the chance to run off with Will since he tried 3 years ago (last season).

I don't see them going full Clarice on Will, especially since Fuller wants a season 4/5. I'm thinking Will is just playing everyone in this scenario, including Hannibal and it's being set up for another big slaughter.Hannibal's not leaving without keeping his promise to Alana and Bedelia.

I wonder if Hannibal is gonna get away though? I feel like if they want to continue the show they wouldn't do that because it'd be rehashing the beginning of this season, and if they wanted to give the episode a sense of finality, they'd manage to imprison him and make it seem like he'll be there until Clarice comes running along.

Fuller's supposed plan for S4 if we ever get there seems pretty wacky, so I have no idea what to expect with regards to this since we're in some vague territory in terms of not knowing what Fuller will adapt and whatnot.

He said he based Season 4 on a plotline from the novels that was never adapted, something that came from a small mention. The main thing that comes to mind, is that it would be Will being a disfigured and alcoholic wreck. We did get some allusions to that earlier on with him drinking himself to sleep after seeing the Leeds house.

He also mentioned that he wanted to bring in Lady Murusaki properly in that season as well...

all i ask is that they chill out on the biblical references for atleast one episode.

we get it, guys. hannibal is satan. the devil himself. he is lucifer. he is smoke. he is teh 666 he no like god lololol

I would be pretty disappointed if Will ended up running off with Hannibal or whatever. I feel like this season has, if anything, shown Will that he really didn't want to be 'with' Hannibal or whatever. I'd like some kind of fake-out, though, something like Will opening Hannibal's cell, Hannibal slowly walked out with a little smile on his face, and then Will slamming it shut. Something like that, I want to see Will get one over on Hannibal at least once.

I actually feel like this season has really been about the opposite.

No one forced Will to go to Hannibal. He makes some lame excuse that he'd be forced to do so out of desperation anyways, but that's definitely not the case. If anything, all Hannibal has done is complicate things further like he always does.

Twice now Will has had the opportunity to move on and let Hannibal go, and he just hasn't taken it at all.

As Bedelia says, "Did you just miss him that much?". The answer, unequivocally, seems to be yes.

Given what Will did to [BLACKOUT]Chilton[/BLACKOUT] as well as Chiyo, you can see that he's starting to emulate Hannibal in fairly uncomfortable ways. It's been mentioned in these two instances that he may have been curious as to what would happen (as opposed to some other wholesome purpose), and Will doesn't really put up much of a defense when accused of this. Who does that sound like?

The difficult truth is simply that Will loves Hannibal back. He gave the appearance of moving on with Molly after three years, but look at how quickly that all falls apart and how fast Will falls right back into Hannibal's lap. He didn't have to go back to him at all, but he chose to of his own accord.

As Bryan Fuller said, they're unfortunately destined to be together.

Also, nice avy, lol.

Well those last ten minutes were ****ing amazing and Bond-like.

Was it a worthwhile season and series finale to you, Roose?

Well, part of me wants to see how they would have approached and handled Silence of Lambs and those characters. In that sense I know that there's more story to tell and would love to see Brayn Fuller do that, but at the same time this was a perfect close to the storyline of Will Graham and Hannibal Lecter without betraying those two characters. I'd be happy if this was indeed the last we saw of this series. It works, for me at least.

I struggle to put it in words, but the interactions between the three protagonists towards the end was probably the most "epic" this show has ever been.

Even though I want the show to continue, I'm perfectly fine with that being the series finale.

"It really does look black in the moonlight."

Holy ****, that was amazing. The (~)twist, the banter, the fight, Chilton's scene, the Siouxsie song... oh my that tease at the end as well.

The end with Will/Hannibal was perfect, I want more (and could fathom more in the story) but still appreciate and respect this ending.

"It's beautiful."

I think it's meant to be ambiguous as to whether or not they had a hand in the post-credits scene. She looked almost like she was waiting for them to arrive, so the argument could be made that she did it to herself.

I could see that.

Way to get back in the game. After the amazing Chesapeake Ripper arc ending, I felt that they dropped the ball with Red Dragon. Those strange changes (like Hannibal's cell) and crappy CG weren't doing it for me... but this finale... wow. It blew my mind. Hannibal acted just like I wanted him to act after he was captured. Amazing stuff.

I'm still disappointed about no [blackout] Flashbacks to Dolarhyde's origin [/blackout] but they really did a great job of making Francis seem like a worthy threat. I was wondering how they could top Mason Verger, but wow. Dolarhyde was almost inhuman towards the end there. Amazing stuff.

Though the dialogue got a bit weird at times, like Hannibal saying 'drop the mic', a fantastic finale. Would I like more seasons on another network or netflix, absolutely. A movie, or a few, definitely. But the ending was great. No complaints. Arguably the best show ever though it was short lived.

Mads obviously needs to be Euron Greyjoy... But I would be all for some more television series with Hugh Dancy.
