Alan Alda can play Dollarhyde. The big, violent final confrontation between them will be a mildly amusing back-and-forth dialogue about baseball, salami and erectile dysfunction.

:funny:

Just a thought....with all the talk of Dolarhyde, it occurred to me that it'll be nearly impossible to do the Dolarhyde story without changing it significantly. Even in Red Dragon, which was made in 2002, Dolarhyde working in super market's film llab felt a bit dated. Today it would feel incredibly obsolete with the rise in digital technology. The writers will have to more or less change entirely how Dolarhyde selects his victims.

Facebook stalker.....the horror!!!!! :wow:

I was kinda expecting Hannibal to kill that woman. especially when the scene right after is him having dinner with Crawford. this show is so misleading. lol

You can tell Fuller really likes to f*** with the viewers. He knows exactly what we were expecting there, lol.

Ive forgotten to DVR this for the second week in a row!:cmad:

On his Twitter, Fuller wrote that
.@forgivingdurden I believe #Hannibal serves up people 10 of the 13 episodes! #AskHannibal

Which made me think of the protein-heavy breakfast he prepared for Graham in the pilot.

Reminded me a bit of Nip/Tuck.

Good episode tonight. And I'm loving the visuals.

I had the exact same thought. Honestly I think this show could've been just perfect for a Ryan Murphy/Bryan Fuller team up. That'd be so amazing

Dolarhyde didn't work in a super market photo lab, lol. That was One Hour Photo. Dolarhyde was a specialist who worked in a photo processing lab, a more sophisticated place. He was developing reel to reel film. Much higher on the food chain. :)

Lecter and Lounds was terrific. Loved that. That's Hannibal Lecter. I'm now fully behind Mads as Lecter

Watching this right now. Lounds had a gender change but is just as weaselly as ever (and honestly, comes across a bit smarter and smoother here than in Red Dragon). I think I'm warming up to Mikkelsen (or maybe just getting used to him). I liked the scene with Lounds and especially his dinner scene with Crawford. That felt like the most Hannibal-esque he's been yet.

Dancy definitely seemed like he'd settled down a little and wasn't twitching all over the place as much in the second episode.

I wanted to like this show but dancy sucks as graham.the first episode only had 4 mill viewers so I doubt it will get a second season anyway

I didn't think I'd like the new Lounds, but I can see some potential with that character. Granted, she doesn't have the sex appeal of Philip Seymour Hoffman, but still.

I've always felt Hannibal had a god complex, and at the end when he basically said God kills because it makes Him feel powerful, I'm pretty sure we got a glimpse into Hannibal's own motivations.

Exactly. They say Hannibal doesn't have any discernible pathology or psychological disorder or whatever but he has a massive God/Superiority complex. I say both because it's not necessarily a messiah complex because he doesn't seem to think of himself as anybody's savior or that he's exactly special or chosen just superior. And powerful. One thing I do just love about Hannibal is his sense of class and sophistication and his constant coolheadedness. Hannibal is just such an interesting character when you really start trying to break him down and analyze him.

Hannibal Lecter is one of the most intriguing characters ever, IMO, and I'm glad some of that is still retained with Mikkelsen (who I warmed to more in this second episode).

I still don't get those who say Mikkelsen is too obviously creepy. He's way less obviously creepy than Hopkins ever was. And in completely different circumstances. To me, Mikkelsen has a kind of soft, gentle way about him with a veiled menace behind it. Especially in that scene with Lounds. He's so calm and polite to her. Eerily so.

Mmmh, Mushrooms grown out of human fertilizer. Respect.

Edit.

Does Hannibal always serves to his guest Solyent Green ? I was asking myself the question.

Well Lounds turned out to still be alive, so maybe (maybe) Crawford really was eating pork....maybe.

I think we're gonna have lots of scenes like that though, because the writers know any time Hannibal is serving dinner we're gonna be side-eying it so hard.
