Oooh, Hannibal is awesome! Read the pilot script last year and loved it and seeing pilot was happy to see it lived up to it.

If you're worried Hannibal will feel held back by being on broadcast, not cable, don't worry... It's freaking gross as hell! (and awesome)

I SALUTE @DAVID_A_SLADE who shot truly ICONIC footage last night for the #HANNIBAL season finale. #NBCHANNIBAL #AXNHANNIBAL #FEEDYOURFEAR

I have an extremely high tolerance for gore and things, but from what I've seen in the trailers and commercials, this show seems kind of hard core for network television.

TV has gotten kind of nuts the past few years.

What I don't understand is how a lot of shows, this, Breaking Bad, and the Walking Dead among them, have a lot of content that would very well contribute to an R rating if they were films, but then when films are shown on TV, similar content is cut out of them (Watching the Final Destination films is kind of pointless when they're on FX).

It just makes me laugh that they can't drop a F bomb on TV, but dissolving a guy in a bathtub is A-OKAY.

Basically if you don't swear or show anyone's breasts, you can do whatever you want.

I imagine male breasts are okay. As are chicken breasts.

It's hard to imagine anyone doing the Hannibal character justice after Hopkins' iconic performance, but I think Mikkelsen might actually be up to the task. Love that guy (even though he should still be very, very ashamed of himself for starring in Crap of the Titans).

Female breasts are okay as well... but lawd help us all if someone spots a nipple. :o

Guy's gotta eat...

Had to watch Silence of the Lambs in class today and it's gonna be damned difficult to top Hopkins line delivery. His voice was so amazing. Every word cut like a knife.

One thing I wished they had done is slicked back Mads' hair. It would have made him look a bit more Hannibal-esque.

Yea, I'm not sure if I like Mikkelsen's "look", specifically his hair.

I know this series is a stand-alone, not connected to the movies, so he's not trying to look like Anthony Hopkins, and that's not what I'm complaining about.

Something about him looks...I dunno, not quite "neat" enough, or something, and I think the hair not being slickered is part of it.

I'm pretty sure Hannibal's hair is described as slicked back in the books, as well as being that way in the movie. I think that Mads would look much more Hannibal with a slicked back hair do, maybe even a widow's peak.

mikkelsen's hair does look slicked back in some of the scenes.

Yes, he is described with a widow's peak.

In my review I said Mikkelsen made a valiant effort to maintain his dignity and seemed like he belonged in a better movie, so that's...something.

He seemed to be at least trying to actually act, which was more than Neeson or Fiennes did.

Love what I'm hearing about this show. I just hope NBC has the balls to keep this on the air.

Heh, yeah, that is true. He was trying, unlike most of the other actors who were either phoning it in (Fiennes, Neeson) or incapable of portraying characters of any substance (Worthington).
