I thought both Darkspawn looked goofy.
The first one they kind of look like muppets, in the second they look like a 12 years olds scribble of a scary monster. Bioware probably intended them to be super serous mature time, but they are pretty campy.
I didn't mind them so much in the original - I don't know what Bioware was thinking in this one though. They just look so stupid.
As I play more, it really feels like Bioware went out of their way to re-invent the wheel, so to speak, with so many aspects of the game. Some for the better, some not as much...
It's amazing how much I like Bethany. The idea of playing through the game with Carver instead of her was a major factor in my deciding to go warrior for my first play-through too. Carver's just so... bleh. Guy's a *****e. Bethany gets a little annoying at times too, but she's like a billion times better than Carver. Her... uh, skill set looks better too.I'll probably start with the Rogue. I wanted to start out as the Mage for my first playthrough, but I just need my hot sister at my side for the first playthrough.
I didn't know that. That's awesome. I went with the default male Hawke appearance since it actually looks pretty cool, but I'm planning to probably make a black female as my second character. Should be interesting to see how the rest of the family looks.Just started playing it an hour or so ago.It blew my mind that my family looks like my created character.I thought it was just going to be that generic family no matter what.It was a awesome little surprise.
Yeah, but I like that. It strikes a good balance. The escape from Lothering is your focused narrative to give you a brief tutorial while setting up the main story arc, and then the game opens up by allowing you to choose what you want to do to earn the gold for the expedition. So it's like a good half-hour of introduction to characters and immersion in the world and story, then a couple hours to do whatever you want to do and explore and whatnot. In a way its reminding me of GTA style setup where you're sort of just seemingly hanging around at the start.
I'm kind of kicking myself for not picking two-handed. The more fights I get into, the more annoyed I am at how bloody long it takes my sword-and-shielder to kill people. Plus, Aveline's already doing an excellent job of tanking as it is. It would've been smarter of me to go two-handed and focus on strength and damage boosters so I'm taking out whole groups of low-level thugs every couple of swings.Game is fantastic.
Also, while the two-handed scheme didn't woo me in the demo, in the full game it's awesome.
