Quote: And finally, our friends at BioWare are revealing the teaser trailer for their next game exclusive on GTTV! We just received it and it looks phenomenal…you guys are going to be blown away! We’ll be able to share a bit more news about this reveal trailer very soon, which incidentally was completely created in-engine. Once again, this is the kind of high-quality exclusive you’ll only see on GTTV….thanks to Ray, Greg, and the guys at BioWare for giving us the opportunity to reveal the game to the world.

wow so Bioware were ****ing idiots regarding this.
They tease about a july 9th text and all you get is ,"Tune in on friday."

that's ****ing dumb PR right there if you ask they could've just said, "hey you guys stay tuned for more news on july 11th!" and then update with the same news they did on july 9th instead of hyping everything the **** up.

Yea I agree, that was just taking the piss really
Anyway, screencaps from the GT trailer using the ingame engine.

Looks kinda generic, I'm sure the game will be better than it looks.

I dunno, I like it, but what I don't like ishow the pr department is handling this :o

30 seconds of quick cuts? goddammit

I like the grittiness of the design.

The thing as well, the game uses an over-the shoulder view, but when you enter a battle, it goes to an isometric view, it's a tactical RPG, this trailer makes it look more like Oblivion or something along those lines...it's suppose to be the spiritual predecessor to baldur's gate, not what they are trying to show off, yea, dumb PR.

I have to admit, the game does look a little...uninspired.

I would really liked to have seen some actual gameplay footage. Hopefully they'll have some at E3 and then I can make a decision on this game.

I think we will be overwhelmed at E3, hopefully.

I think this game will be good, and we have to remember this was NOT a trailer, this was a tease, scripted events from the game merely using the game engine, which looks like, hairs pretty well made at least monsters look awesome.
Now, faces lack a certain expression maybe but we havn't seen a whole lot, it can come.
I think this might be closer to NWn in camera angles.

Mass Effect had that problem as well, the Beowulf effect, the model's look highly realistic, but the eye's are dead pan and there's just a weird feeling to them that something is off...these look to be more stylized, it looks like the eye's of the fellow in one of the screenshots are glowing and the male models seem to share similar features.

I was just played Neverwinter Nights 2 today, Obsidian done an excellent job with there models, they are realistic without being over-done to the point of being weird, but they are also stylized, but not to the point of being cartoonish nor comic book like.

I teaser was not all that, i give you that, but the game is going to be amazing, we all know that.

Yea they announced a console port months ago.
I'm wondering if it will be a straight up port or something along the lines of Dark Allaince.
Getting around a D@D type system on a control pad would difficult, they have said it was pc built but if they dumb the gameplay down like what happened with Bioshock I will be pissed off.

That's weird, I didn't hear about that until that magazine cover.

I read the article from the magazine and they said it was going to be a straight port.

In the article they said the combat system they're using is very similar to Final Fantasy XII. I don't know if you're familiar with it or not, but it involves a system where you define the behaviors of your party members with "Gambits". For example you can tell one of your party members to heal the party leader if his/her health falls below 20%. Stuff like that.

So I don't really think it would have a huge problem being ported. I think it's just a matter of creating a new user interface.

I wouldn't really worry about it being dumbed down, either. Bioshock was made for both the PC and Xbox 360 at the same time while the console versions Dragon Age won't come out until way after the PC version. The PC version is clearly the lead platform.
