If he's serious about acting it isn't like there aren't a plethora of ways for him to develop. Acting's a skill, it can be learned and it can be improved. I feel a lot better about it than I initially thought I would.

They're filming GotG in the UK so they can get Bautista expert coaches if he needs them. They could even recruit Hiddleston to help out. :cwink:

This is the thing, as he gets into more mainstream films, there are going to be more people to coach him and really instruct him on how he should be delivering his lines. I doubt there was much of that happening on his DTVs or on Man with the Iron Fist, which is why I think it is unwise to judge on those roles.

As a long time wrestling fan, I'll offer everyone here my assurances that Batista will be "good enough" in the role, at least. He's no Lawrence Olivier, but come on, the character's name is Drax the Destroyer.

I only notice if it's particularly terrible like Sabretooth in X1. However, I'm hardly a "film-critic" so I don't scrutinize movies like the typical message board poster. Heck, whenever I hear people gushing about a movie score, I'm like "Wait, there was music in this movie!?"

lol! I'm the exact same way, who has time to listen to the music in the movie when they're actually watching the movie?

Dunno, music made Batman's return in The Dark Knight rises really epic. All the cops chasing Batman, seen first time in 8 years, Hans Zimmer's underlining the drama. Epic.

I know that movie scores are very important, I think they just subconsciously play under the scene to me and I don't really notice them. But I really love instrumentals in general, I have a couple movie score Pandora stations, I just never really notice them in the context of a movie lol

The score is something that usually only sinks in for me after a few viewings, unless I've been able to absorb it ahead of time or I'm paying closer attention because I really like the composer.

Hey guys, at least he looks exactly like Drax. I always thought Momoa was a little undersized for Drax. You paint Bautista green and he is literally Drax brought to life.

Seems like a pretty sharp dude.

Also I never really get a sense of how big these guys are because you only ever see them next to other big dudes. Get 'em out of the ring and next to normal folk and they look massive.

I think the point of a good score, to me at least, is that it's so good you essentially don't even notice it during a scene because it fits so well in that piece that it enhances the scene itself without sticking out and taking up all the attention.

I can't recall anything specific but I can remember times where the music overpowers the scene (too loud or seemingly out of place) and I'll focus on that rather than the scene itself.

He definitely seems like a nice dude. I was watching this earlier today.

Nice don't win the pony show, huh?

I'll say this in his favor for this role... he ain't pretty to look at.

You know Bernthal would've made a decent Drax. Oh well, we have Batista to look forward to now.

Bernthal would've been good too. He's got a rugged look to him. Momoa's got size, but the dude is just man-pretty. He looks like he was carved out of marble. :o

I'd hit it.
