Something tells me Drax won't have had a past human form named Arthur Douglas in the movies

This

I'm kind of hoping that his revenge issue with Thanos is simplified to Thanos killing his family. No wonky Death and Resurrection by a demi-god.

Yeah. Nothing human about him. He can still have personal issues with Thanos.

So would that mean that in the MCU, there'd be a whole race like Drax? Would definitely be better than that whole earth-man getting killed and resurrected in a new body, then getting stupid, then emerging as smart and smaller out of the shell of his old body, etc...

I imagine we'll never see dumb/ Hulk Drax.

I think they'll probably just make Drax an Eternal of Titan, who was loyal to A'lars, and was thus punished by Thanos.

yes. But you think they would still be of Titan? Titan is in our solar system. When we saw Thanos, and the other, they were deep in space. Obviously Thanos must not be welcome there anymore, but idk, I feel like having there be intelligent life on one of Saturn's moons would be more known.

Of course unless Thanos wiped itt out thousands of years ago. Actually, yeah. That makes sense, and of course stays true to him basically destroying civilization on titan anyway.

Sounds perfect to me.
And then you could go ahead and make Moondragon an Eternal, or half-Eternal. All of that's better than the old Arthur Douglas backstory.

Personally, I'd prefer there *not* to be a whole bunch of humans who have already gone to space in the MCU. I'd like for the first forays into the MCU cosmos from Earth to come just from Peter Quill, Rich Ryder, and Carol Danvers.

Those are the only three I need as well. Out of the three of them, I am most excited to see Richard. You think he'll be in this? The backround stars look like the stars of the Nova corps. Hopefully he appears, I personally think he may, and that there will be more "main characters" than what we have seen in the banner.

You raise an interesting question: If A'lars, Eros, and other Eternals will be alive in this movie, or if they'll job out Thanos's entire race/ family to build him up as an ultimate evil.

I wouldn't be surprised if the Eternals are linked the Asgardians in the MCU.

I personally still want Chronos to be involved with Drax's origin though as I think Drax glowing with power as he did in Annihilation when near Thanos would be an awesome visual on the screen.

They could make him an Eternal of Titan who Thanos killed after killing his family in front of him (though obviously he wouldnt know that his daughter lived) and Chronos resurrects him for the sole purpose of killing Thanos. It could give him motivation for joining the team as well if they are going after Thanos.

Also, what would people think of Djimon Honsou (sp?) as Drax?

Agreed.

I like it all....including Djimon. There's so many possibilities for Drax; I think it'd be hard for Marvel to **** up the casting there. Even if they get a wrestler/musclehead. Quill, Gamora, and Rocky are going to be harder to cast properly.

Thanks, personally though I dont want a Wrestler for Drax, I think they need an actor, as Drax in Annihilation, which seems to be the one they going for, is a master tactician and combatants, and he says something he delivers it with power and purpose. IMO only an actor can convey that.

Djimon for years was my choice for Black Panther. I still think he could pull it off, even though he's up there now. I don't think T'Challa should necessarily be a youngster depending on the direction they go. But I've never thought about him as Drax and I love the idea.

^I think he may be too old for BP now, but he is just about the right age for Drax, he has the look, physicallity and acting chops for the role.

Yeah probably. Maybe as T'Chaka now. But I love the Drax idea.

Same here. Actually, I think it would be a nice opportunity, and the first step, to show more godlike races in the MCU.

Idk. I feel like Thanos will just be Thanos, and have no back story race

what about jason momoa even tho i cant picture him bald for some reason lol

I know Drax aint exactly Deadpool, but I'd need to see a LOT more from Momoa acting/dialogue-wise to settle on him. His look is fine, and I enjoyed him on GoT, but I would prefer a seasoned actor in the role. In all the roles actually.

Jason Momoa Not seasoned? he's been acting since 2001, thats 12yrs of acting how is that not seasoned?

How about this, cast whoever fits the role and has talent to bring it alive on screen so we see Drax, and not an actor playing Drax.

Drax is 6'4", so cast some one 6'3"-6'6".

Drax has muscle, cast some one who can eaither pack on the 124.7kg (275lbs) or all ready has it (Rock). NO CGI or CLAY BODY SUITES

Drax has to be deep when he talks & kick ass, cast some won who can be deep & do action.

Finally Drax isnt the lead of the film, Star-Lord is, so he can be an unknown. Just has to be a talented unknown.

Honestly I think they will focus on Star Lord, Gamora, and Drax pretty heavily so I would love a solid actor in all those roles and Jason Mamoa wasn't great in what I've seen him in.

Why not Joe Manganiello who is taller, older, and a better actor than Momoa?

Bullet to the head may give a lot towards Momoa being an action star on the big screen, so I am curious to see how he does. As he seems a decent pick for Drax.

Momoa seems like a decent choice. Though I am not real picky on Drax, I'd like to see Kevin Grevioux considered. He's menacing and has experience in these genre films, especially heavily make-up'd.

Kevin Grevioux is old and fat, he's at least 50 something.

If not Momoa or Manganiello than an unknown like Chris Hemsworth. Who has the look, and can show marvel he is Drax.

I think Karl Urban would be good for Drax, not sure he'd do another sci-fi franchise though.

better actor they are about equal they both have 1 good role performance true blood and game of thrones

If the shoes were on the other foot and Manganeillo had done Conan, I'd be calling Momoa the better actor.
