Eh I actually think the controller is cool.
But as for the whole idea itself, I dont see myself buying it. I mean I can play Arkham City, Ninja Gaiden, Battlefield ,and Tekken on XBox. I dont really see why people are flipping out over a bunch of games that are already on other systems.

But good work for Nintendo for stepping up the technology

There's an actual console that goes with the WiiU.

But you can still use the WiiU on the Wii.

The clips shown already surpass the gfx capability by about 20x of the Wii.

wow battlefield on Wii? never thought i see the day

As much as I am indifferent to EA, I like how they are planning real games for Nintendo.

I guess the Wii-U segment is coming to a close.

If only we hadn't gotten just a tease of Smash Brothers by a line. I really want to see that ****er. So bad.

So basically, this is a current gen console for Wii owners who don't own a 360 or a PS3.

Ninja Gaiden 3 will come out on all 3, but will have Kinect support, Move support or Wii U support?

I agree. I already have a PS3 and I can already pick those games easily, so unless Nintendo offers something major, then I don't think I'm going to dust off my wii anytime soon.

Kind of the impression I'm getting, yeah.

Nintendo just found a way to add the DS mechanic (dual screens) to a home console. OK, its cool. It still feels too gimmicky. Like it can't let go of its Wii-habits, but wants to cater to the neglected fanbases. Its like this Nintendo is having a identity crisis.

Fail by Nintendo. Their Console is straight but it's not something that I couldn't get on the PS3 or XBOX360. Theirs nothing new that made me wanna buy this system.

I was kinda expecting a bunch of Nintendo titles with superior graphics for the new system.
Pretty much all of those games I play in better from on me pc. The Sony handheld looked more interesting.

yea that was well...lackluster....they get an A for effort

im really irritated they didnt deliver Smash Bros....if i get the WiiU it will only be for Smash Bros,Zelda,Mario Franchise and the Possible Tatsunoko Vs Capcom Sequel thats it...they didnt sell me....Kinect is far more interesting and thats not saying much

I gotta confess the 3DS announcement last year won me over faaaaaar better than the Wii U did this year.

Hmmm...

There are plenty of Wii-only owners who will pick this up... but if you own a 360/PS3 and a Wii, I really don't see the point.

Another Nintendo controller not designed for Fighting games...

I think I have more questions though... I mean, is this just a controller... or does a new console come with it? How am I going to play HD games on a Wii? I won't? How will I play them on a controller?

I'm left feeling confused... I mean... IS there a new console that we just didn't get to see yet?

Yeah, kind of mixed on that conference. The whole idea could make for some interesting things, but as Geo said, it does have this distinct feeling of 'Oh you have a Wii? You don't have a PS3/360 and would like those games? Well, here you go.' Maybe they'll be more shown to change that perception later, though, but I can't say it's something that terribly interests me or anything.

I might sound like a homer but I truly think Sony won as far as conferences go.

thats already been answered with pics in this thread. There is a new console but the controller can be used on the current Wii as well from what I gather
