The Dark Knight Rises Easter Eggs in DKR

I thought it was like in the NML novel where the kid stole the apple from thugs or something like that.

Bane breaking Batman's back.... holy mama I jumped when that happened. My friends gave me a "WTF" look, but I don't care. It was a total nerd-out moment :woot:

This was me in the theater as well! When he [BLACKOUT]lifted Batman over his head and uttered the "I will break you!" line[/BLACKOUT] I actually blurted out 'YES!' and jumped in my seat. I'm sure the people around me wondered why I would be cheering a bit during Batman's beatdown. :funny:

Unsure, just the kid being called 'bastard,' the apple, having to fend for himself for food, and race all together for some reason go back to how it seems to me. If the film didn't focus on Batman being an orphaned hero this time around, I wouldn't of noticed it. And in the making of book the 'orphan' theme was stated to be important for J. Nolan to have in the film.

Ok...this isn't an Easter Egg, but did anyone notice they said there were 12 million people in Gotham?

Weren't there 30 million people in TDK?

Guess they all packed up and left...and I bet they're all glad they did given the events of this film LOL

John Dagget had to be a subtle tip of the hat towards the animated series. Granted, he wasn't a pharmaceutical company owner but construction, and the first names are different, but you don't include an industrial-type trying to take over Wayne Enterprises and name him Dagget randomly.

And as for the Selina Kyle mug shot, it wasn't the exact same photo - but it certainly seems to have been staged to resemble such.

Gordon's final eulogy at Bruce's funeral is the last lines of A TALE OF TWO CITIES by Charles Dickens.

I thought that was kind of obvious, but apparently a lot of people haven't read that book or don't remember (slackers!)

Not an easter egg more like a nod to previous events... When Selena Kyle disappears while Batman is looking away and he comments on it.

I loved that.

Me too. Another scene that highlights how sneaky Catwoman is. Batman's comment afterwards of him getting his own medicine was funny, I didn't find it cheesy at all.

I did the exact same thing :funny: :highfive:

The line "So that's what that feels like" was in Kingdom Come, after Superman disappears from a conversation with Bats.

Yes! That's right! I knew there was a comic I read a long time ago where Batman said that line but I couldn't remember which one. Kingdom Come... ah, I hope to God someone makes that series into a movie someday. It would be like Lord of the Rings with superheroes.

Yeah, I loved the Daggett and Bane-breaking-Batman references. Some people in my theater yelled "YES!" when he broke him. I was surprised by that... I knew he'd beat Batman down but I didn't expect to see the money shot. Awesome stuff.

That's funny because right when Bane said [BLACKOUT]"Oh I was wondering...."[/BLACKOUT] I knew he was going to say the line: [BLACKOUT]"...what I was going to Break first, your sprint, or your back"[/BLACKOUT], so I jumped up before that line and I yelled out loud and said holy shiet! Some people in the theater got mad at me.

I really didn't expect that line or scene in the movie, I really didn't. :wow:

Thomas Tull (CEO of Legendary Pics & exec producer of TDKR - not to mention part-owner of the Pittsburgh Steelers) is seen a few times standing at the side of the Mayor in the private box at the football game before...

getting blown up.

That's cool... didn't realize that Tull was in it. I read a good interview with him in the Pittsburgh Post Gazette where he talked about Batman and the Steelers. I still can't believe my favorite superhero and my favorite football team (and one of my all-time favorite players, Hines Ward) appeared in the same movie. It actually seems a little surreal to me.

Daggett was the guy who eventually gave rise to Clayface

Don't forget that [BLACKOUT]the various things dropped in dialogue about Blake's background kind of set up that he's the Pseudo-Robin, as well as the fact the prison is often called a "pit" that people rise out of seemingly like new people- a metaphorical Lazarus pit.[/BLACKOUT]

The newspapers on the batcomputer referring to kyle as "The Cat", which is what she was called in the original bob kane batman #1 in the 40s... And nolan said they wouldnt call her catwoman....

did anyone else notice this image when bruce pulled selina's record?

glad I wasn't the only one who caught that

Loved the reference to TAS with Dagget, and also the special guest Judge at the puppet trial was AWESOME!!! Although I think we all know who we wish it could have been. :hoboj:
