^^ True. Basically, I'm just saying that there are better RPG's out there, IMO. Knights Of The Old Republic was better than Mass Effect, IMO.

I know, but when I played Mass Effect 2, it felt like another space invovled game (that's not a bad thing at all) and, somewhat, just filler. The ending was great though. I don't know about other people, but for 2010, I thought red Dead Redmeption was a leap foward in storytelling. One of the biggest twists i've seen in a while in a video game.Than the first Mass Effect? I'd agree, but ME2 was such a leap forward on nearly every front over its predecessor that its really the culmination of everything Bioware's been doing starting from KoTOR on in terms of cinematic but interactive and mature storytelling within video games. I think that's what a lot of players were connecting with last year.

I guess it's all personal preference, lol.I don't know if it was really a twist with a name like RED DEAD REDEMPTIONbut don't get me wrong I really did like that game. I don't know if it was a leap forward in and of itself, it was just extremely well told (which automatically makes it better than 90% of the other video games out there) but it wasn't really interactive in the way Mass Effect's was and that's what I was referring to. I definitely think it deserves a lot of the praise it gets but Mass Effect and Red Dead's narratives are so different its practically impossible to compare the two other than their technical aspects. It would be like debating whether Wrath of Khan or Unforgiven was a better movie which is what both games remind me of when they're really some of the best stuff their respective genres have to offer.
But biggest twist of last year? Deadly Premonition, man.![]()
- I still love Knights of the Old Republic over every other RPG. Knights of the Old Republic arguably not only has the greatest twist in the history of video games, but the greatest payoff too. When I found out [BLACKOUT]that I was Darth Revan,[/BLACKOUT] that was a moment where, for the first time in my video gaming in experience, I put down the controller nicely and was truly shocked, but in an incredibly awesome way.
Also, the way the game built up being a jedi was awesome too. I really liked that you didn't start as a jedi. It made finally becoming a jedi that much more rewarding.
I agree that was one of the biggest revelations in gaming. Altho and i hate to admit this, i spoiled myself on that revelation. I had the strat guide and like an idiot i peered ahead and ruined it. Its been my greatest gaming regret.

It's basically the same as Baldurs Gate. The player finds out he is Bhaalspawn, fights another Bhaalspawn who thinks he is teh proper Bhaalspawn. The end.

I don't care if it's the same a Baldurs Gate.
I thought Planescape Torment piddled on both.
