Daredevil Elektra casting and discussion thread

It's too high-pitched and girly. Nothing wrong with it, it's just not Elektra to me.

I thought that (I too tend to think Elektra's voice is deeper), but all things considered, it's not too big a deal. I think it'll sound less like that anyway if she were able to pull off a Greek accent.

This. Plus, if you're an elite assassin, you're going to try to sound friendly before killing your target. Elektra should be somebody who seems nice and charming at first glance, then becomes this incredibly cold, violent force of nature. Then she walks away like nothing happened since nobody expects her to be the type to stick a sai in somebody's back or spike a drink at a party with cyanide.

Still, I'm not going to prejudge anything. If she's interested, give her an audition and see how she sounds in the part.

Someone else I feel has the look of comic Elektra, but I don't know how I'd feel about her in the role is Mila Kunis.

Mila Kunis could at least go for a eastern European accent given that she's from Russia (I know it's not Greek and doesn't really sound like Greek, but it's at least a foreign accent in the same ballpark and it can't be perfect). Although, if they cast Mila Kunis, I think we would know by now.

I really doubt they'd have an accent for Elektra in this show. They don't even have one for the Black Widow. I never really picture Elektra with one when I read the comics anyway. I know she's Greek, but they can easily get around that because her father is a diplomat, so she grew up in American boarding schools.

Yeah, that's right. I keep forgetting because she speaks Russian. She was born in the Soviet Union, is that better? :p

People assume I am russian all the time and I have to correct them, theres a little bit of a thing going on regarding ukrainians and russians if you've been watching the news lol

^ Yeah, I know. I was just digging a hole (I was just thinking that she spoke Russian and my only point was that she can do an eastern European accent, I would imagine).

May, I think.

So there's plausibly time to film her scenes after she has her kid, I would think.

Katrina Law, Eliza Dushku, Mia Maestro

Mia would be my top choice. She's who should've played her instead of Jennifer Garner. They picked the wrong actress from Alias. Now would be the chance to make up for that.

My top choice for Elektra will always be Rhona Mitra but I think she may look to old next to Charlie Cox.

Tatiana Maslany - Elektra

I would definitely go with Katrina Law. She has a history with Steven S. DeKnight from Spartacus and definitely has the ability to pull off such a physical roll.

I think Spanish actress Verónica Echegui from The Cold Light of Day, Fortitude and Hunter's Prayer would make a good Elektra.
