Cash grabs is the only thing Disney is making these days, and sadly they have a great success with it. But if that what people wants, so be it.

All big budget summer blockbusters are cash grabs. All of them. From ever studio.

Doesn't mean they can't be good films with genuine art and craft.

I mean The Jungle Book was a fantastic film. But technically yea it's a cash grab.

I'm still going to see this movie on opening weekend, no question (in fact, I have a full-fledged girls night planned with my friends and we WILL be dressing up for the occasion).

So yes. I'm looking forward to it.

Now that I've gotten that out of the way, I must profess that I haven't seen anything so far that has made me cringe or spark strong disapproval, but I haven't been exactly "wowed" either. The visuals look stunning for the castle. I am VERY underwhelmed by Emma Watson's singing voice though. I've been spoiled by a powerhouse voice like Paige O'Hara's for 25 years though, so ...

I hope this movie doesn't suck. I don't want it to. The original Beauty & The Beast is one of my all-time favorite movies. I'm a BIG fan.

All I know is that it better had not suck like Maleficent did. Maleficent offended me. God-awful movie that completely spat on EVERYTHING that was cool about Maleficent in the first place ... I'm still mad about how that movie went down.

Yep, Gaston is a hunter who loves the challenge. It was always more than Belle just being pretty.

Last night, I went to the mall with my husband (looking for a gift for my sister-in-law). At Barnes & Noble, they have a LOT of Beauty & The Beast merchandise. I took a look at some of the dolls and thought they were really pretty.

Then, we ended up at the Disney Store and saw the infamous and meme-worthy dolls in person. MAN, are they busted looking. Even my husband, who obviously isn't much of a collector of anything, had to say something. Poor Emma Watson!

Usually the Disney Store dolls are infinitely nicer than the Mattel Disney dolls. That is totally not the case with the dolls for this movie.
