Animation has an energy you can't match with live action because animated figures can movie in a far more quick, flexible way than real people can. In the cartoon version, LeFou bounces around and moves in a way that Josh Gad simply can't, no matter how talented he is.

They could do it, but I don't think they want this to be a live action cartoon. Which is refreshing, because a lot of versions of the stage show go for that, complete with Gaston punching Lefou across the stage courtesy of wires and such.

That's the joke. He THINKS he's this godlike presence because he's handsome and has muscles. He's not. He's just an insecure man.

I miss the Baritone too, though his voice does sound nice.

And I love how Beast talks about himself:
