Yeah a 16+ rating for a freaking Disney Beauty and the Beast movie is absurd. I expect the same PG rated material as Cinderella.

:whatever: I think you have no idea what you're talking about. It's really interesting how some countries suddenly became a vanguard of pro-gay rights and look down on everyone else, who isn't up to their new standards. Even if they have serious reasons for that.

Well, that's what I expected. Raised age restriction.

X Knight makes a solid point, though. One of the reasons.

Im sure they just not watch movie and not search THAT moment and give 16+. Only because of rumors. Of course I have ********.

I'm glad they've "clarified" the timeline when Prince gets cursed and show that it happened when he's already a young man.

In the original, there seemed to be a "plot hole" in the sense that the deadline for the rose was his 21st birthday, I believe.

but, in Be Our Guest, there's one line which suggests the servants have been "wasting away" for 10 long years or something. which would suggest that the Prince was cursed by the Enchantress when he was only 11!! that just seems awfully cruel and vindictive on the part of the Enchantress.

it makes sense that the Prince is cursed as a young man, cuz by then he should know better how to treat others.

I wonder if they will still go with the 21st birthday deadline, bump it up to 31st birthday, or just go with no age deadline at all......

I'm not sure which point you're referring to, but.....thank you?? lol.

My wife and I will both be there. Super excited for this and Kong.

In the stage musical he's cursed as a young man (no age given) and it's all about the rose. It blooms for "many years". He has until the last petal falls, so he doesn't know how long he has.

ah, thanks. perhaps it will be like that in this film.

it's better with no specific age mentions.

btw.....in the stage musical, is the "10 years" line still in Be Our Guest?

Serious reasons for bigotry. Okay.

By the way, isn't Faora from Russia? So Faora is calling her own crappy government idiots.

I suggest you to look back at the history of your own country and how long ago it came to acceptance of gay rights and discarded bigotry. Russian society in large portion isn't ready yet. But things change. You can show your wonderful films with gay content for audiences 16+. Already something.

I look at my own country plenty. I don't make excuses for it and point fingers at other countries for our lack of progress on things.

I am just happy Faora will actually be able to see the film. Faora seems rather excited for it and it would have been a shame if this BS stopped that from happening.

Then you know it's not that simple.

I'm happy for Faora too. For other kids it will be up to their parents to decide.

so, I take it that the 16+ rating in Russia means you have to be at least 16 or older to see the movie? otherwise, you'll need to be accompanied by an adult?

I know it still makes it wrong, no matter where it happens.

I don't know if it's everywhere, but where I live you're given a paper to sign, if you take a kid under age restriction to see a film. Under parent's responsibility. But I heard some theaters deny entirely, when it comes to movies 16+.

My first ever movie experience was in the late Soviet Union in 1990. My friend's dad took him and me (we were 7 years old) to watch The Terminator. lol I suppose nobody gave a **** in the theater.

Unforgettable.

Terminator is highly appropriate for a 7 year old. :o

but yeah, I watched movies like Terminator and Robocop when I was a young kid, too.

my parents were fairly openminded about that.......lol.

VHS pretty much let kids of the late 80s and early 90s watch whatever the heck they wanted. It was easy to trick your parents at Blockbuster. Well it was for me. :o

My parents were openminded towards violence but didn't let me watch any sex stuff. I've neither killed anyone nor fathered unwanted/unplanned kids. Good job Bren-Parents I say :D

To the thread topic, I'm not interested in this movie :D
