Wow. If Jessica were any blonder she'd look like the 3rd Olsen twin.
Well, I hate to say it but...through no fault of her own, Jessica really didn't capture the "WASP" look consistently in the first film. For example: the scene when Reed, Susan and Johnny went to Ben's room right after their transformations...as they were trying to break down the door, Sue looked decidedly spanish with dyed hair to me...I just had a hard time shaking it because she didn't look believable--especially next to Johnny's pale self. And it's not like the actress isn't fair enough, it was the choice of grooming and makeup. I know they couldn't dye Jess' hair too light because that stuff is very damaging, but the end result looked like...well, a dye job.
Looks like they've rectified the problem, with great results. Jessica really looks like Susan Richards now. The lighter hair roots, blonde eye brows and of course the blue eyes make her look...more natural for the role.![]()
Let's face it. She will never be the traditonal Sue Storm. She's just too young. They are going with the Ultimate Sue Storm, not the original motherly Sue Storm. Sue Storm was much older then Johnny. Chris Evans is about the same age as Jessica Alba, and that is why it doesn't work.
She's not the traditional Sue Storm, and we just have to live with that fact. Reed and Sue in the comics, you felt the age difference was about right. In the movie version, you feel like Sue would be jail bait to Reed.

I think Jessica agrees with you on this point....Hmmm. I both agree and disagree with that statement:
When Susan first walked in Doom's office during Reed's business proposal, she definitely was carrying herself as a grown woman. She was sophisticated and in control. If she had been consistent with that same business-like portrayal it would have worked. It's only when she gets around Johnny and starts...well, whining, that she acts and comes across much younger and childish. But that's all due to poor writing and I hate-hate-hate the way they dressed her in some scenes. That's why I feel like FF1's take on Susan was more Invisible Girl, than Invisible Woman.
Agreed....it's funny but Jessica is probably the closest to the correct age....well actually I think Ioan is, but the others are far from the correct age....Ugh, I never got that impression. I always felt Susan was a peer of Reed's...Ioan doesn't look that much older than Jessica at all.
As far as "traditional"--quiet as kept, this new look is the closest we've gotten so far to the 616 look of the character. Now, it's down to the lines, acting, direction and writing to see if the personality is there. I think Jessica has the potential to capture the "motherly" aspect of Susan but she needs direction. It needs to be in the writing. Not once did we see a compassionate side of her in reference to Johnny. It was nothing but a scoldfest throughout the whole movie. It would have been nice to see Johnny depending on her, coming to her for advice, etc. That would've shown who's eldest.

Too bad that the Thing lost a big chunk of his slice, when they cut away three nice scenes with him in the theatrical cut. It's like this.
You have a pizza that's divided into 5 large slices (the FF and Doom). Now, you've got to divide it into six pieces to make room for a newbie (surfer)
Somebody's gonna lose some bread.![]()
The restaurant scene showed the woman side, the restaurant scene with Victor (that was cut) showed this very well....
I keep hearing people talk about these cut scenes that weren't on the dvd. Where did you see this?
Whats with the Doom pic? Does he use the cosmic power to cure himself or does if come out of the crate cured?
Have you seen this? Teaser poster apparently of the same image.
http://www.comicbookresources.com/columns/index.cgi?column=litg&article=2735Does anyone else not like the fact that The Thing is getting a reduced role this time round? I liked everything i read in the Empire article until that part.
I will be severly dissapointed if this is the case as Ben Grimm was one of the only things (pun intended) i enjoyed about the 1st movie.

[FONT=Verdana, Arial, Helvetica]A production decision in "Fantastic Four 2" to increase Jessica Alba's prominence as The Invisible Woman, led to the entire script being rewritten. Look for her to take a key role in most scenes - mostly at the expense of Michael Chiklis' Thing.
oh no. People aren't going to like this. I feel a extreme backlash coming.
