I read it in the store. It's pretty much exactly what a lot of people have suspected. And it feels just as forced as we all would've thought.

I'm not crazy about his art, but the heavy blacks had solid impact on the theme and mood of what was going on, especially the last panel. And hopefully "Jackpot" won't have some silly or lame power, like shrinking or turning into water.

Those would be pretty random powers for a person named "Jackpot" to have.

Did anyone actually read last week's OMD issue? I thought, at the very least, Quesada's artwork was improvement from past issues. His Mephisto is pretty horrifying.

That's the million dollar question surrounding this entire story: WHY?

Huh. I should look at that next time I go to the comic shop. I always preferred Mephisto's original look to the more demonic-looking version from Priest's Black Panther comics (at least, that's where I saw that design). The latter looked like he and Blackheart had somehow combined into one being, which is weird.

I wouldn't have paid for that **** anyway. I mean, if Marvel thinks that by stopping me from being able to read it for free is going to make me buy it, they're kidding themselves.

Yeah, they're being silly with the whole Z-Cult thing. If you want to shut Z-Cult down, offer a comparable service for a reasonable price. I'd pay for comic downloads if Marvel offered them. I won't pay for the subscription service, but downloads, most definitely. If I want an issue, I'd plunk down 2 or 3 interweb-dollars to get it.
