Enter The Sandman: The Dreams Thread

I have weird ones from time to time but I rarely think about posting them or they are too vague to remember.

Recently though I've had a few interesting ones.

A few nights ago I had one that is spotty to remember but it morphed from one "story" to another where somehow I was with a group of people being chased by a T-Rex. It probably came from a mix of the Jurassic World discussion and a combination of some movie or television show I'd been watching recently. No one got ate that I recall although someone did have to play the bait and distract the dinosaur while everyone else high-tailed it to a large cluster of trees from being in an open field.

Then last night was really weird. It was Sigourney Weaver from her Alien days but she was playing April O'Neil from TMNT. There is more to it but the details are kind of vague. I think that was just more hopeful thinking dreaming than anything else. :hehe:

So I had a dream about Power Rangers for some reason. I haven't watched it for a long time but anyway, they all misplaced their power coins/morphers and spent the entire time running around looking for them. By the end only only person found theirs and ran off to go fight. :p

I just had one of the strangest, most intense dreams of my life and I'm not sure what it means.

For years I've had dreams about something about to hit Earth. It used to be asteroids, but lately it's the moon or a piece of the moon. Here are two posts of mine from this very thread:

I'm having lots of nightmares lately. Two nights ago, I dreamt we were waiting for the world to end. Six killer asteroids were approaching Earth "the size of New York City skyscrapers" in the news's words. Everyone was freaking out and looking for places to hide, but there were none. The dream ended with me seeing six giant fireballs looking exactly as it did in 'Deep Impact' hurtling towards Earth. They crashed a few hundred miles away and for a few seconds I watched as a giant shockwave rushed towards me. And then I woke up.

I used to have a lot of killer asteroid dreams, where the world was ending in a week and everyone was sad and preparing to die. Those dreams always end with me seeing the blazing asteroid rip apart the sky before I die.

But recently one of those dreams had a bizarre twist; instead of an asteroid, the Earth's moon had broken into two and one half was slowly drifting towards us. Every night the moon became larger and larger in the night sky, until one night when it seemed to eclipse the sky completely. Everyone said "this is the final night. The moon will reach our atmosphere before dawn." It was so close you could make out the contours of the craters. One of the craters looked like Satan laughing. That's when I woke up.

I had another dream the moon was about to hit Earth last night, but this time something different happened. I saved Earth. I've had variations of this dream theme probably 30 times and this is the first time I averted catastrophe. It might be one of the craziest dreams I've ever had, and I'm just going to repeat what I jotted down in my dream-journal (yes, you better believe I have one) about 20 minutes ago.

'The moon has fallen out of its' orbital alignment and is about to collide with the International Space Station and bring everything with it down into Earth. Again the moon is getting bigger in the sky, becoming a gigantic red sphere against the evening sun. The news is discussing the end of the world. Then suddenly, I hear a voice, like a booming loud whisper, within my head: "Please let us help you. We need to stop this." Suddenly, I can fly. I fly high above my city and land on the ISS, which has for whatever reason been dragged into Earth's atmosphere, but beside that remains undamaged. As the moon hurtles towards me I put up my hands and stop it, holding it above my head. Then I push it off and with some weird bolt of kinetic energy it goes sailing back into space along with the ISS and the disaster is averted. As I fly back to land, everything is normal, except I notice a small piece of the moon has been left in one hand, and a piece of the ISS is left in my right hand, like two mementos. Then I hear the voice in my head again and it says: "Now you have the tools. We need to build a weapon. We can stop this from happening again."

That's when I woke up. My heart was racing and it took me a good minute to calm down.

This is the first one that ended in a triumphant and awesome way. The others where I didn't stop it were scary as ****. I wonder what it means... maybe that I'm in a better and less uncertain place than I used to be.

JJJ, I once had a dream where the planet Saturn was somehow moving closer to Earth and that the entire planet filled the sky.

I've noticed that there's almost always a T-Rex in my dreams. Sometimes it's an actual T-Rex, sometimes it's just a picture or a toy.

I don't even like T-Rexes.

So I had a dream that I was getting married. My best friend and his family was helping out with everything and my own was nowhere to be seen and his kids were pissing me off by being underfoot all the time. Considering I haven't had a steady relationship in years it was just odd that this type of dream happened. I had no idea who I was getting married to either.

I had a weird one last night. I was walking though a dark path in the woods trying to find this side path that would take me home but I couldn't find it. Then all of a sudden I heard an explosion behind me and when I turned around I saw a wall of fire rushing towards me. I turned and started running and as I gained speed I started levitating. I was running up into the sky. It was weird.

It means you died in a forest fire.

Don't go hiking anytime soon. :p

I once dreamed that I was a sandwich and that I was eating the Earth.

Most of my dreams are either vague and hard to remember or REALLY stupid. But I have had some really cool dreams such as me being the world's first superhero and the massive fallout from that. A really stupid dream is when I died from some girls fart on a public bus........ lol

This dream seems to have been inspired by that "Mercenaries" movie that the Asylum is making. (It's basically a beta version of "The Expendabelles." Look it up, it's making the rounds.) I witness a bunch of action and chase scenes play out starring the likes of Kristanna Loken, Zoe Bell, Michelle Rodriguez, Ronda Rousey and, weirdly, YouTubers Alli Trippy and Dottie Gallagher. As several of the ladies (Ronda & Dottie included) are revealed as traitors, the big finale includes the whole gang having an extended brawl in the mud.

Had this one not long ago: I'm riding the train from Snowpiercer, and me and a couple others make it off the train and get to explore the surrounding area. There we discover quite a different twist, namely that, while the train is indeed circumnavigating the globe, the ice-pocalypse was all a lie and the rest of the world is carrying on just fine and completely unaware of our situation, sort of like in "The Village" which means that the train is really a prison for some sick experiment or whatever.

Had a Snowpiercer dream myself a couple weeks ago, like my mind was trying to recreate it. But things were playing out in the wrong order, the train was a lot bigger than it should be, things like that.

Weird dream last night.

I dreamt that I was watching some new sitcom on ABC where Julia-Louis Dyrefus lived in an apartment with the Muppets and a CGI Sonic the Hedgehog.

Fozzie bear got a big flat-screen TV, Sonic facepalmed and said something about how he'll be flipping burgers at McDonald's for the rest of his life trying to pay it off, there was canned laughter, then commercial.

I wanted to see the rest of it, but couldn't change the channel back.

Odd.

I routinely have very violent (not always physical) dreams featuring the instructors from the film school I just graduated. A massive amount of infighting and drama in the school led to my being a favored student to a social pariah in the northern AZ film community (however small it may be). Most night my dreams feature confrontations with those two horrible instructors in some capacity. It's making sleeping difficult.

Batman Arkham Origins:
My dream was related to the story of that game, I was hanging on an arc, not covered in ice, but it is winter in a country with snowy winters.
Black Mask and a bunch of his thugs pass by, I jump down and kill the thugs while tightly grabbing Black Mask's neck, after gouging his eyes, Mask's eyes were hard to gouge.
I kill Black Mask, and see it's the Joker.

Star Wars/Superman crossover. Presumably with JJ Abrams in charge. It had that vibe. Our hero (me, I guess) would keep having prophetic dreams about Superman's arrival on a particular planet, appearing in the sand and such. Then it would cut to an old-fashioned Star Wars space battle, shot mostly old school with models and occasional cgi. Our hero pilot sets his sights on a particular Imperial fighter, even as he is told repeatedly not to, and they fight it out. Meanwhile Obi-Wan (Alec Guinness, but with Tom Kane doing the voice) was using his own personal bubble ship to have a light-saber fight with General Grievous IN SPACE, which made no sense but was kind of cool anyway. Then back to the sand planet, where there was a tour group learning about Superman, when suddenly EVERYONE turned into Superman and flew off into the sky.

Probably, but unless we have a dream interpreter, I don't see the point in bringing it back.

Well, how about this thread just being a place to post about your dreams with or without translations?
