Enter The Sandman: The Dreams Thread

I do.

Smoke weed. It helps.

I had a dream I was at a party and the DJ went missing with the host's wife, so I had to take over and I turnt tha party up! :awesome: But all I did was play Prince records. :o

I mean, it's great that all my dream friends dug it but I don't feel as though I accomplished anything.

I had a dream I was doing punk rock songs with a ukulele once, which was awesome.

I dreamed I was a moron.

Cookie for catching the reference.

On topic, I almost never remember my dreams.

Ever dreamt you had superpowers? I've flown, had a Lantern ring, telekinesis, and done some web-slinging. They're all awesome.

I've had dreams where I had the ability of flight, it was awesome.

I haven't dreamt well in too long of a time :csad:

Any dream-inducing techniques? I usually fall asleep to an audiobook :hehe:

You mean listening to your own book has that effect? :o

just kidding.

I've had several dreams of superpowers as well

The most common for me is flight, web-slinging (even if it's just to grab things that are far away :funny:) and a very common one of telekinesis that happens pretty regularly. It's always a bummer waking up not being able to move things with your mind anymore :csad:

I remember being like "F**k it." and trying to move my alarm clock :funny: Take me back to the dreamworld! Ha.

Anyways, my most memorable flight one I put in here some time ago, here it is again and it was very fascinating.

This dream happened a few weeks ago but I feel like putting it in here because I'm still so fascinated by how it turned out. It transitioned from wonder to near-terror in seconds.

This dream had to do with me flying over countryside past farms and factories. Eventually I decided I wanted to take a crack at flying out into space to see how far I could go. Some kind of anger that came up made me want to fly off away from this world. But once I started getting past the clouds which felt very intense by the way, fear started to creep in because of all the vast amount of sky and space. Once things started getting past Earth's atmosphere panic started setting in but I continued wanting to go further and further out, like as if I was searching for a new home away from I was so used to.

When I reached space and continued outwards, past planets and black nothingness it continued converting my dream into a nightmare. Planets went by like street signs and Earth was clearly out of view. Finally after so much travelling the fear was creeping in far too much and I was scared that I'd never find my way back home now. I turned right back around to fly back to Earth (if I was lucky to even find it) and raced back as fast as I could hoping one of the small stars I was racing towards was the home I was used to. Eventually I breathed a sigh of relief as I came across Earth but I still seemed lost as to where I was supposed to head towards on the globe.

I was breathing hard in the dream and while it started out as a display of wonder and such, it turned into practically a nightmare. One of the most interesting dreams I've had in a while and I document a lot of them now, this one sticks out the most recently.

I used to. Not really anymore. I have sleep apnea now so I wake up choking a lot and that's almost as terrifying.

I posted this awhile ago on this forum in the scary experiences thread. I think I can say that I've gotten used to it by now, but still...

I've been experiencing sleep paralysis for a few years now. I remember the first time that it happened to me. My brother and his wife went for a vacation overseas and had asked me to house sit for them while they were away. I show up to their place in the late afternoon and unpack all my stuff. The night before I was having trouble sleeping and feeling just really ill for some reason. I had a small snack and decided to take a nap in the guest room.

It didn't take very long for me to doze off after my head hit the pillow, that's when it began. I opened my eyes and I could see the ceiling, everything was orange from the setting sun beaming through the window. That's when I felt an immense pressure on my chest, my neck and my face as if something were crushing me. I felt the most horrible terror I had ever felt in my life, I could hear my heart pounding. I tried to move but was unable to, I tried to scream but I just wasn't able to. That's when I had the distinct impression that I wasn't alone. I felt as if someone was standing in the partially open closet next to the bed. I knew I wasn't able to move my head. But I was able to glance at the closet and that's when the shadows in the closet got darker. That's when I thought that I was going to die.

Then I snapped out of it. I instantly sat up with cold sweat dripping from my forehead. I frantically searched the room, and the rest of the house. I was totally alone. I was not able to go to sleep again that night because I was too afraid. It's happened nearly a dozen times since the first experience. Each "event" stranger then the previous one. Sometimes I hear radio static and distorted voices, sometimes I see shadows shifting and other oddities. I've read up quite extensively on sleep paralysis so it eases my fear a bit.

I had a dream where a DJ came to school and we were all booing the **** out of him. The school worked hard to get the guy too. It was one of the weirdest dreams ever. :funny:

Piper I used to have it bad too. I had one where unseen forces were dragging me by my ankle off my bed, across the floor and then up my wall. Another one where a dead friend was sitting at the foot of my bed telling me he'd see me soon.

And then tons of lesser ones where I hear someone turn on my faucet or open my door. They were worst when I was at University, but they continued off-and-on (about twice a month) until about a year and a half ago and then one day just stopped for no reason.

I literally have had every weird or awful sleeping phenomenon there is; sleep paralysis, sleep apnea, night terrors, sleep walking (only once), lucid dreaming...

I keep having dreams I'm hanging out with a friend I met through tumblr. Is that telling me I need to meet her?

I had this dream a few weeks back but i've not had this particular one for a few years. I'm in a field but there's nothing growing on it and I hear this woman's voice I can't see her but it's like I'm being drawn towards that voice.

It's not a horrible dream it's a weird one.

I had a dream that I posted in the Dream Analysis thread that Bamf made two years ago. I remember I was in a hospital and was afraid or something then I was in my room and I grab a hammer that mysteriously appears on my desk and I smash my hand with it and my hand shatters like glass. As if time reverses, my hand is rebuilt and I look at the corner of my room and see a mask and for some reason I repeat, "this is your face" over and over. Then there's a bright pink light and then the sounds of an explosion then I awake...

I'm not a believer in these dream analysis mumbo jumbo but I would like to one day figure some of my dreams out.

Too bad Bamf fled the Hype. I wonder if he's alright. He seemed to have some personal demons or attention depravation.

I had a dream where I was at church, but instead of a priest giving a sermon. It was Black Sabbath giving a concert in the church.

One dream I had recently involved me walking down a long desolate hallway, and at the end of the hall was a door. I opened it and stepped through and found myself falling into what seemed like a dark abyss. Dreams never really make sense do they?
