Enter The Sandman: The Dreams Thread

Incorrigible?

And yes, I can agree with that. May have to try a little harder with trying to shatter my dreams in particular buddy. You.... monster.

Something to do with Leonardo DiCaprio and Anne Hathaway

When I dream I only remember the bad ones very vividly and the good and happy ones only in bits and pieces, sometimes in parts of them but rarely.

I had a dream about Star Wars the other night.

I was chatting with Billy Dee Williams in my house

My dreams are so explicit and sexual in nature that if I were to describe them here, I'm sure I'd be prosecutable under some Internet obscenity laws.

This dream happened a few weeks ago but I feel like putting it in here because I'm still so fascinated by how it turned out. It transitioned from wonder to near-terror in seconds.

This dream had to do with me flying over countryside past farms and factories. Eventually I decided I wanted to take a crack at flying out into space to see how far I could go. Some kind of anger that came up made me want to fly off away from this world. But once I started getting past the clouds which felt very intense by the way, fear started to creep in because of all the vast amount of sky and space. Once things started getting past Earth's atmosphere panic started setting in but I continued wanting to go further and further out, like as if I was searching for a new home away from I was so used to.

When I reached space and continued outwards, past planets and black nothingness it continued converting my dream into a nightmare. Planets went by like street signs and Earth was clearly out of view. Finally after so much travelling the fear was creeping in far too much and I was scared that I'd never find my way back home now. I turned right back around to fly back to Earth (if I was lucky to even find it) and raced back as fast as I could hoping one of the small stars I was racing towards was the home I was used to. Eventually I breathed a sigh of relief as I came across Earth but I still seemed lost as to where I was supposed to head towards on the globe.

I was breathing hard in the dream and while it started out as a display of wonder and such, it turned into practically a nightmare. One of the most interesting dreams I've had in a while and I document a lot of them now, this one sticks out the most recently.

My father spoke to me in anger and told me to go back to high school and start all over at my current age
I go there starting my first semester, taking the exact same subjects I took 11 years ago, although all subjects are different now

Had a nightmare last night, it was pretty much a cross between The Thing and the cryptic messages from Prince of Darkness.

Had a horrendous nightmare last night. Had a little shrunken head sized old woman who refused to get the hell out of my apartment. Threw her out the window, hit her over the head with a baseball bat and even burned her head. Nothing. Worse still, I had two arms (just arms) randomly chasing me around my apartment, punching me. Pretty annoying.

A dream I had this morning was a musical about a guy named Jonathan Lewis/Jonathan Fancy. I don't remember any of the lyrics, but I do remember that the townspeople didn't think much of him.

I had a dream where I was living in house where dreams became reality. So I was dreaming within the dream and then "woke up" to the original dream where all kind of weird stuff happened in the house because I dreamt about them.

For the longest time, I had this recurring dream.

I'm back in school....but it's almost like an amalgamation of my high school and university. I'm always running late to class and the entire campus is predictably jammed packed. And it always ends the same way: When I get to the right building where my class is, I head up the endless stairs. I keep going up and up..and then I would wake up.

I had this dream when I wasn't happy being stuck at a job that I hated. But ever since I got a cool gig in LA, I've stopped having these nasty dreams.

A while back I had this recurring dream where i was being chased into the woods by a witch and i happen to come upon a cabin. I go inside it and lock the door then I hear banging on the door and someone I presume the witch telling me to open it in a creepy voice. I don't but then she beaks the door down and I'm cowering in the corner screaming don't kill me when I open my eyes there's this woman with great legs by the way :woot:asking me what I'm doing on the floor. She had a gentle voice to her and then I wake up.

I usually forget my dreams as soon as I wake up -- very annoying -- but I remember enough to know I've had continuous multi-night narrative dreams, where the dream picks up right after it left off the previous night and proceed in a more or less (for a dream) orderly fashion. Anyone else ever have those?

I had a long and full dream last night but what I remember the most is that I did this move from the MoS movie and then I shot forward like he does in the film.

I believe that I was showing off to a friend how I could fly and mentioned this movie's scene like "Yeah you know that one part where he said 'You're a monster Zod, and I'm gonna stop you'? Watch this" And then I re-enacted it. I remember feeling a lot of energy in my legs when I did it. It was so awesome, here's to another one like it soon.

I had a strange dream a couple of days ago. I was walking down a road surrounded by forest. It was nighttime, and it was snowing. I was cold and shivering and I stopped to light up a cigarette (I don't smoke). Next thing that happened I was being chased by an old black truck, I'm not sure what the make or model was but I was very scared. It chased me down the road and I ran into the forest to lose the truck. I woke up, upset and my heart was racing. Dreams never make sense do they?

I find I get some very visual nightmares if I eat a certain type of chips before I go to bed. They actually are a bit scary and that's unusual for me. My dreams are almost always cinematic and usually don't feature me in any way besides being an observer.

The one I had last night was from the viewpoint of the monster. It was some sort of mottled skin thing like the first enemies from Silent Hill 2 but with freed arms. It could climb walls and use vents like in the Alien movies, it wraps victims in some sort of fleshy mucus and usually moves very slow but can use bursts of speed to take down several people in seconds. There was a lot of climbing involved from various viewpoints, all sorts of angles including upside down while clinging to a wall.

Have you guys ever had dreams where they felt like they were real? I remember having a dream where I was an older man and I had gotten into an automobile accident. I vividly remember all the details of the surroundings, everything leading up to the crash etc. And when I woke up I remember I felt incredibly cold, I could actually hear my heart racing and I was feeling very anxious. It was so weird you know?

I can almost always tell when I'm dreaming mostly due to the fact they're so vivid and cinematic. I still always jump at the falling dreams though.

I swear I'm able to control my dreams if I want. Not so much what's going on, but my own actions and I can always tell when I'm dreaming because I'm defying gravity.

Yea, I posted a new topic on here about Lucid dreaming, but no one cared. It would make for a good matrix type of movie. I've been writing one called Nightmare.

They've delved a bit in both the Nightmare on Elm Street movies and Inception.

You guys should check out the X-Files episode "Sleepless", it stars Tony Todd. It deals with dreams.
