Episode 11 - "Fallout" - Discussion Thread

Has anyone thought that the whole "save the cheerleader, save the world" stuff was actually refering to Jackie? Maybe Claire was supposed to die, but by living she has doomed us all. Perhaps Jackie, even though she had no powers, did something to stop all the bad stuff from happening in the future.
thats what i was thinking.
if peter had managed to save jackie
claire may not have run into her dad
while trying to find people, and thus wouldn't
tell him her secret and who knows about it.
and the black dude wouldn't have erased her
memory of her own power

The only reason I could see why he blows up is by absorbing Ted. Yet no matter what the other post say, there is no way he could of had contact with him. The reason I think he is sick is because he absorbed Syalrs power, and its corrupting him. You can see this is why because of him freaking out seeing Sylar in his cell.

He probably meets him some time in between the current episode and the explosion.

Also, when Hiro saw teh explosion, the city wasn't deserted. Interestin, no?

but the haitian didnt erase her mind, so at least Claire powers is all still good
and im pretty much sure that Jackie served her purpose in the series. since they set it up in the beginning that her gloat lead to her death yet redeemed her *****y ways by telling Claire to run for her life...

I'm really puzzled as to what kind of powers Sylar has. That entire scene he had with Eden just confuses me.

He's a sponge. He takes powers from others, unlike Peter, he has to kill the person and well...eat their brain I guess.

You know, I've been thinking about the "Are you on the List?" tagline...great stuff...

as for me, I'm pretty sure I'm on the list. You see I have the power to charm any woman out of her pants :D Don't tell Sylar, that's one he looks llike he needs

Sounds like his original power was to see how things work, that's why he was so good at fixing watches. Maybe he's able to see how people's brain patterns or what part of their brain they are accessing to use their power, so he's able to somehow adjust his to match theirs.

Also, something I've been wondering about for a long time that hasn't been touched on since. What happened with the little girl that the psy-cop originally found? Sylar really wanted her and yet, he had trouble controlling her. I mean, he had just forced a guy in a chair through a ceiling, yet he couldn't hold on to a little girl? That's been bugging me since they showed that.

Can anyone give me a summary of what happened on today? I missed most of the episode due to work.

This show is freaking awesome. :wow: Can't wait for January. Peter is becoming my favorite, and Sylar is a force to be reckoned with.

When Pete starts the dream on the ground it looks like he's wearing sylar's watch,And it looks like he's wearing Sylar's coat.

Peter seemed fine until he had his interview with Parkman. Maybe the feedback extended his mimicry range and caused him to slightly tap into the powers of all those in a greater range than previously possible. Hiro, Issac, Eden, Sylar and Claire were all in the same town at that time. Might be that he was broadcasting so strongly that he entered a telepathic visual of the future that Issac had seen and Hiro had visited (which is why he felt like he was there instead of seeing it - time and space awareness like Hiro combined with seeing the future from the present from Issac), and also picked up a little of the degradation that Sylar is probably experiencing on account of absorbing multiple powers at the same time (because of the increased broadcast range of his mimicry due to his encounter with Parkman).

I'd say it has to be a combo amplification thing - because if it were just a dream like his previous things about flying may have been, he has never met DL, Micah or Nikki before...

Unless the spirit guide kid is really powerful and is trying to tie everyone together because of what he's seen in their individual dreams.

Great episode, lots of jaw dropping moments. And Isaac looks pretty good cleaned up. :) What I liked is that Isaac finally understood that he doesn't need the drugs to see the future. I liked how they put this in perspective with him talking about comics:
"It's so much more simple" or something to that effect. And it really is simple but it's actually so important. :)

I didn't like it too much. It seemed kind of long and drawn out. Like, how much time was spent on DL and Micah and Nikki that didn't really need to be? We get that she flipflops all the time and that Jessioca wants to kill DL but NIkki doesn't. Hell, there was an entire episode pretty much dedicated to it.

The only real important stuff was in the last 10 minutes, which is rather dissappointing. And whats the deal with Sylar saying (paraphrased) "Now Eden, you know that won't hurt me" when she points a gun at him? He's not invincible (as seen by his presumed broken leg/sprained ankle and bloodloss from the fall) and he obviously can't stop the bullet with his mind or he would of when Eden used it on herself...

But isnt he? I remember Parkman shooting him and he got up and flew away.

Then whyde he start bleeding all over the place when he fell from the 5 stories up? Continuality errors for the win.

Unless ya know, he has some weird trippy power that if he's around someone he gains the reverse effect or something. IE he could be hurt cause Claire was around.

Also, does anyone think Hiro will end up being the main badguy? I mean if you think about it, Future Hiro is the reason that everything is happening and maybe he wants to cause the destruction of all the other heroes cause he's an angsty jap?

I think its more likely that one of the people he has killed had a power similar to Magneto - metal bullet, no problem; human body falling five stories, problem (assuming his telekinesis has a limited strength preventing him from propelling himself, or possibly even affecting his own body)

I'm surprised no one has mentioned how empty New York was.

It's been mentioned several times.

It could be a continuity error or its something that hasnt been addressed yet. It is only mid-season.

Nah. I dont think Hiro will turn out to be the bad guy.

I only have one thing to say...Edens an idiot.

well we really never saw what happened with Sylar and the bullets. we assume that he was shot/hit just because he went down. but we never saw blood evidence. his dive could've been just for effect. hell, even a guy with a kevlar vest will go down after being hit in the chest a number of times.

Well thats what Im saying. We dont know yet. Now if this were the end of the season and this went unexpalined I could understand but we still have 11-12 episodes left.

thats what I saw too... I think it is going to be Sylar that is going to explode after absorbing the guy who has radio active powers...

To much power in ones self can over load and BAM!

I think Peter has a second ability besides Mimicing others...he can see someones future in their eyes after he meets them or comes into contact with them.
