Episode 11 - "Fallout" - Discussion Thread

thats what I saw too... I think it is going to be Sylar that is going to explode after absorbing the guy who has radio active powers...

To much power in ones self can over load and BAM!

I think Peter has a second ability besides Mimicing others...he can see someones future in their eyes after he meets them or comes into contact with them.

I thought so too, about the sylar thing.. but if he were simply projecting himself into sylar's body as part of a vision why would Claire apologize to him? That would mean she's telling sylar "I'm sorry"

Which is possible, but seems unlikely.

He's a sponge. He takes powers from others, unlike Peter, he has to kill the person and well...eat their brain I guess.

No he doesnt eat there brains. They pretty much explained how Sylar obtains others powers

With his ability to see how things work deeply

When Suresh told him that the brain is the key to unlocking such abilities

In order for him to use this ability he has to expose the brain fully thus cutting it out of the victims head.

Sylar used his abilities to dig down to the DNA level of the brain in order to find how the abilitie works.

From there he changes his own DNA to take that ability.

So hes more than just a "mimic"

With all the powers he is taking, he is corrupting his own DNA which is causing him to go crazy.

he was crazy before he took the telekinesis guy out. he was crazy when he met Suresh and was being tested by him.

Its possible that Sylar ends up getting Claires power, then obtaining Teds power. She says shes sorry because she wasn't able to be kept saved. Since Peter absorb a bit of Sylar this is causing him to get sick and possibly see what everything is going to happen in the future.

I think alot of people forget that most the times empath usually have to put themselves in another person shoes to see what is going on, yet not really know whos shoes they are in thus, thinking they are the key to what is going to happen, when its actually someone else.

Yes, yet even HRG said that it was causing him to go crazy too, so it could be maken him go even crazier, if you want to go that far.

Hmm, interesting theory.

damn wildchild beat me to my lil theory about peter waking in his dream and the dir. i guess on purpose the first thing they show us is a watch and a black coat... yeah and liking the thing going w/matt and audrey lol and looks like matt has lots of control over his power now

Eden..you dumbass, but it took alot of guts to kill yourself

Why does jessica want to kill D.L so badly?..Has this been explained

The one bad part about the episode is Zach and Claire's friendship has been erased ..THAT WASNT COOL GUYS..now she has no one to confide in..not cool

I don't think that the whole Jessica/DL thing has been explained fully yet, no.

So far we know she wants to kill him because he's a criminal and therefore harmful to her and Micah. There's obviously more behind this, unless it'll just end up being that Jessica is simply a crazy *****.

except he isn't a criminal. Jessica framed DL, so his being a "criminal" can't be her motivation. she simply hates men. she's violent towards them.

they might all feel eventually sorry that he is the way that he is and can't control himself, cause after all he just wanted to be special, but he was already special like them.

But he is having a vision of what is to come yet again and like he did b4 he put himself in another persons shoes (his brothers) and thought he was able to fly.

So maybe Sylar is after everyone in new york and they are running (dl, nikki, mikah, and the rest) away from him but nathan wants to confront him and Claire just feels so sorry for Sylar that he couldn't be saved from a dark path.

There is so much there that people aren't getting by the face reactions everyone was protraying.

SHE thinks he's a criminal though. She keeps saying it all the time.

great episode all in all, like always, some questions answered, some questions left in the air, and new questions arise

finally, Mohinder gets in the right track, it could have been better if they'd resolved that at least 2 episodes before, he needs to figure more in the story

apparently, Jessica submitted herself when she realized that she was the one who could actually hurt Micah the most, Nikki did the best thing she could

Isaac is sooooo dreamy. But yes, today something was given away that most apparently didn't notice: Isaac thought he needed the drugs to paint the future, but he had been drawing it sober all along, he just wasn't aware of it. he would shoot up to make paintings, apparently, his comics are done while sober, and it was implied today, and he's been given a codename already

one more thing about him: has anyone noticed that so far all his paintings have come to pass? one way or another? the cheerleader's head was open, Hiro and Ando arrived at the high school and saw the banner (that scene was amazing, they should integrate that more into the show, it just kicks ass), Pete's death scene came to be, and many others I can't recall at the moment... I'm thinking Isaac paints the future, no matter what, so it is most likely we will se NY go Ka-Boooom, wouldn't that be a great season ender?

Nathan, as always is the guy you love to hate, he's an *******, but that won't stop him from protecting his brother, anyone pissed at him is clearly missing the point

Sylar was good, very good, I wasn't expecting Eden to go :(

was it me or is Mr Bennett truly thankful of Peter saving his beloved daughter's life? I'd love to see him do for Peter what he did for Isaac, and something else? there is something about his glasses, I just really don't know what, I might get a pair like those for me :D

Matt got a nosebleed and tickled Audrey's fancy, that was cute, he's someone who needs his powers amped right away

somebody said back in page six or seven that Claire had no more story to her and well, I guess that person was wrong, by having everyone around her mindwiped and the revelation the Haitian will make to her, she's got a lot of story on her

and I finally figured out Mighty Pete's power source: his lower lip... but seriously, Peter kicks ass even when just laying there on the floor

and we've got to give it to them "Are You On The List?" is a way much, much, much better tagline than "Save The Cheerleader, Save The World", that one made me cringe every time it was uttered, be it by the announcer or by any other random character throughout the story... at least the new one has a more X-Files kinda vibe to it

Isn't he a criminal, though? He was the head of a gang.

I can't remember, but I do think he has some kind of history.

Matt does need an upgrade. If Sylar gets Eden's powers, then Matt might be the only one strong enough to resist him.
One thing puzzles me, and episode 10 kinda ignored the issue. If Peter is standing next to Sylar, does he get the entire set of powers, or just Sylar's original power?

He painted Claire running up the steps by herself. When it happened, Peter was with her the whole time.

The NY dream scene could just have been the little indian boy entering Peter's dream to show him the path he must take. He just didnt get it yet - couple more dreams like that and he'll start seeing the boy there too and understand he is being shown a path of destiny or something

He would probably get Sylar entire set of powers.

I would jump on the "Peter projected himself into Sylar's body in his vision" bandwagon except the watch they showed is not Sylar's watch. Sylar's watch was black and had a crack in the face. Plus as someone else said why would Claire be apologiozing to Sylar?

About Sylar getting Eden's powers... Go to www.nbc.com/heroes and read the new graphic novel. It explains what happened after Eden kills herself. Looks like Sylar was trying to get her powers, but HRG and Hatian come in and shoot him with some kind of syringes to stop him. Very interesting teaser till 1/22/07.

I liked it better when Isaac was the only one who could predict things about the future. Peter's preontition and possible new ability makes Isaac seem less important. I mean, we know Sylar kills Isaac and absorbs his power eventually so maybe they're prepping somebody to take his role.

Great episode. Sylar was able to use his ability in that room despite HRG saying he couldn't. Was he faking it all along?

Peter exploding, I have two theories: That he's seeing himself as the radioactive guy, or maybe when Peter's around so many "specials", his power overloads and its too much for him.

Great episode before going on hiatus. I'll have to watch it again to see anything else I missed.

he won't. she blew her brains out so he couldn't get her power.

I think the hatian has to be around to null the effects of the ability. Im finding it hard to believe they were able to create a containment unit that has the ability to null the powers of an individual, especially since they didnt really speak upon it.
