Episode 11 - "Fallout" - Discussion Thread

No Sylar was only able to use his powers when Mr. Bennets sidekick was gone. The black guy has the ability from stopping others from useing their powers to a certain degree. Once he went to go mind wipe Claire(which he didnt so yay) his power wore off on Sylar and Eden wasnt powerful enough to counterattack all of Sylars powers which made him so powerful.

But some people are speculating that Mr. Bennet has the power to stop others from using their powers.

We know have three different people viewing the future in three different and very conflicting ways. Heavens to Mergatroid:(

It does seem that way....

some weird things from the ending last night. When mohinder first gets out of the cab he smiles and looks happy to see peter, then he briefly looks down and becomes very frightened and runs away. The other weird thing was how Hiro and Ando looked so disappointed in peter. They kind of looked down and shook their heads. Claire mouths "I'm sorry" to peter before she runs away. And Nathan is the only one who walks right up to peter. Can't wait to see if any of this mumbo jumbo i just wrote means anything.

Peter's vision: Everyone was evactuated ahead of time with what? A bunch of cars with doors open clogging up all the streets? No, if what Peter saw was the future, then those people were taken by an unnatural means. Look at what happened to Houston during Rita... evacuating a large city takes a week if not more... and that doesn't involve tens of thousands of cars being open in the middle of the street.

I suddenly have an alternate theory.

What if Peter's visioin simply wasn't the future. Claire in her Uniform in NYC? Parkman doing Beat cop work in NYC? With nukes going off, where was Ted? Isn't he more prevalent or important than Simone? Or DL-Nikki-Micah... and Nikki out of prison? Not likely... are we really to believe that Suresh and SImone simply could not be evacuated?

And I think we agree that Peter was not using Isaac or Hiro's power, so why would he be seeing the future anyway?

I think of it as an allegory. A dream, of which Peter has many. New York is being evacuated, Isaac holds simone back from Peter (remember, Simone broke up with Isaac because of the powers which she now accepts), The Powered Family continues to run while Matt tries to protect them, Nathan is the one who confronts Peter and Hiro watches, his hands tied. A dream sequence, a preview in it's own way, but not the actual future.

That's my theory for now.

since when can Peter see the future anyway?
the only times he dreamed, it was about the present

unless it was one of Sylar's powers and the connection from Peter-Sylar was still intact

Very nice.

Simones father. His brother's broken arm and car accident. Etc.

that wasn't the future
those events (Nathan's accident and Simone's dad) happened at the time of Peter's dreams

The date frames could be arguably and I forgot to mention the flying. The dream realm reading could be primarily based off the level of importance in the event itself. If the impact is minimal to the world at large ( a broken arm, a single death ) then it could coincide with the present. If it was a world altering event (Nuclear NY) then it could have a greater strength to reach Peter sooner.

one more thing, Peter seems to dream people he has a strong emotional bond with

Nathan, Claire, Simone's Dad

he's an empath after all

pretty funny thing to just be a dream since he appears to go nuclear. Peter has no knowledge of radioactive guy. but...he has been in contact with everyone else.

except for Hiro, Ted, Nikki/Jess, DL, and Micah

Peter met Future Hiro

Hiro has not met Peter yet, so they haven't met... yet

is there a specific NBC HD channel or is it just the regular NBC feed? because i don't recall the HDTV light turning on on my DVR.

NBC has a separate HD channel. It's channel 232 on mine. And when does the show return?

Of course it's not the exact future. Quit being stupid. I don't think any of the Heroes would be that mean to Peter, especially Claire. It was just Peter feeling that he betrayed everyone, and him thinking they were dissapointed in him. We all know that Peter is good, and whatever happens it's not because of his own free will.

they met in Texas on the way to save the cheerleader. Peter and Hiro spoke with each other when Peter was in Isaak's apartment. Peter traveled to Texas and immediately met Hiro.

and even if he were just future Hiro, he still met Hiro. that's reason enough for Hiro to be in his "dream". that doesn't explain radioactive guy, Nikki, DL, Micah.

this was more than just a "dream".

Peter met Ando. Peter's never met Hiro face to face.

dammit. that's right. this time travel stuff has me thrown off.

Jan.22....

And for those who think that Mr.Bennet is the one who has the power to disrupt other powers instead of the black guy, I dont think he has the power, since Matthew saw the black guy in the bar and Mr.Bennet was no where to be around and all Matthew was getting from the black guys mind was static, so he is the one with the power and not Mr.Bennet

It was the room that subdued Sylar's powers while he was being held captive. Bennett said so. It's still a mystery how Sylar was able to overcome it. Eden thought she was safe outside the room, and the Haitan wasn't around.

the recent Q&A in the eponymous thread says that it's the Haitian. HRG doesn't have a power.
