Hawkeye Episodes 1 and 2 (Spoiler Discussion)

Rogers the musical was hilarious, I'd love to see more from the performances. Lol "I Can do this all day" a hit song genius. I can just imagine Sam and Bucky getting cringed watching this musical rendition of their pal. Clint sure couldn't stand it.

I'm glad they dropped the first two at once because the first episode left me wanting more. Of course the second episode did too but at least we got more Clint and Kate interaction there.

Hailee Steinfeld is stealing the show as Kate. Her moment with Gary towards the end of the first episode was hilarious.

Jeremy Renner has been solid so far but he's leaning a little too much on the Murtaugh "I'm getting too old for this ****" Lethal Weapon act. I get that it's more in line with MCU Clint but I'd like to see some more of Fraction's Clint in there too. Although, for this show, Kate being the Riggs and Clint being the Murtaugh is more than appropriate.

Tony Dalton is so scummy, I love it.

Lucky the Pizza Dog has my heart and I really want Marvel Pet Avengers to become a reality where he joins Goose, Morris and Alligator Loki. :o

When the tracksuit mafia mentioned that "She wants him alive" at the end of the second episode I was thinking they were going to be shown to be working with Yelena. I had momentarily forgotten all about Echo.

Overall the tone reminded me of a lighter version of Netflix's Daredevil with a bigger budget, which I'm perfectly fine with. Even though I'm fairly certain where the show is going, it's still a fun ride. And it's also refreshing that it's not a mystery box type of show that floods the likes of Reddit with fan theories like WandaVision or Loki. Nothing wrong with a good old fashioned straightforward street level superhero story.

Solid start here. I would say my 1st impression of this show is Wandavision and Loki were better, but so far better than F&WS. But I do think it is closer to F&WS than to either Wandavision or Loki. This is def more of a comedy. I do worry that leaning into grumpy Clint may leave him vastly overshadowed in his own show by a lot of characters, though.

That said, if you hate MCU humor....you will HATE this show, lol

That's what I love about this, Street Level Marvel.

He was one of the firefighters, and he'd put the Larpers sticker on his fire truck. He lifted it from Kate's apartment while attending the fire.

I liked the first two episodes a lot, could be a bit more action for me and comedic timing needs sharpening up, but I'm loving the Kate Bishop character already.

Not sure how I messed up quoting the first one, sorry... first post here! Forgot to add that Hawkeye pinched firefighter's gear from the truck where he saw the larper sticker.

I have a day off from work, so I watched the two episodes. Both were fun. I liked the chemistry between the two actors. Tony Dalton should never be a good guy ever.

This show is the definition of "Okay, I dont mind" for me, but I was more hyped about it. I hope Clints arc gets a new touch the next episodes (possible when Yelena involved), because the whole show is about Kate and the writing give her a lot sympathy.

I know, she is a new character who inherit the Hawkeye role but I feel a little bit scamed so far.

Tony Daltons role is so obvious the villain role, he cant be it.
So my bet is on Elanor, who used the chaos of NY and killed her husband and now Armand.

The "Rogers: The Musical" scene reminded me of that one scene from Batman Beyond where Old Man Bruce Wayne walked out in the middle of a Batman musical in disgust.
I'd love to see more of the Rogers musical. The shoestring budget costumes alone were hilarious.

First two episodes were good fun and as good as expected, felt more like the Netflix shows in tone and style obviously the street level aspect of it all make it feel like this but its nice to have something that feels more lowkey and Renner and Steinfeld are a great pairing to bounce off each other. It seems like a fairly straight forward plot and not going to be ground breaking but thats probably the best thing for Hawkeye, he just wants to clean up the mess and go home to his kids and she just wants to be the next Hawkeye and protect her mother.

The pace is pretty slick which I guess for 6 episodes it will have to be although ep2 was slightly slower overall but still fun, interested to see what the rest will bring and damn if the music isnt on point, the opening credits are a banger and the Christmas theme is perfect timing as well and Pizza dog is goat.

Kate Bishop seems like another great addition to the MCU universe be interesting to see how her arc goes in this show and where she is at the end. Good stuff.

I liked the intro with Kate seeing Clint during the Avengers battle in New York and also the theatrical Avengers show (would go to a real one of those :cwink: ). Will watch more later but got to switch to football now.

Okay...
I havent read the fraction run. But the MCU Hawkeye seems MUCH different than what that apparently is. I LIKED the idea of exploring PTSD and the physical impact of war, loss and the idea of a "regular" person trying to stand among gods...and we didnt get enough of that for me.

I despise the character of Kate's future stepdad. He reminded me of the villain in Naked Gun...SO fake smarmy and not at all believable as a real person. I do think that a twist is coming that will reveal Kate's mom as a villain...but still...its hard to believe that he exists at all in the MCU. And besides that...the character seemed to know almost nothing about his fiance's daughter.

The fight scenes are underwhelming...the direction and script of the first few episodes aren't very good.

Echo debuts...okay. I refuse to believe that the incompetent punchline that is the Track Suit Mafia is behind her...so someone bigger/more important must be pulling the strings. Kingpin would be great...but it's probably Kate's mom.

Loved the Broadway musical. Not sure that should be my favorite thing about the series thus far...but okay.

Currently (one third of the way through) there are almost no stakes in this. But it seems like business is about to pick up, so it should get better.

Shows a lot more serious than I expected but I'm really loving it so far, Clint isn't exactly like the comics but I enjoy him being more down to Earth and dry humory, because with all he's been through it makes a lot more sense for him to be like this.

Super excited to see how Echo and Yelena fit into it all and whatever exactly is going on with Jack.

So it's Iron Fist, then?

This show needs way more Jeremy Renner in it and I know he's in the second episode more, but man for a show called Hawkeye I was really thrown off by that first episode focusing so much on Kate Bishop.

Now, I like Hailee Steinfield and she definitely has some solid chemistry with Renner, but she is like my least favorite thing about this so far and these tracksuit mafia dudes are straight buffons but atleast they are making me laugh quite a bit which I wasn't expecting but there you go.

Roger's The Musical, Tony Dalton being scummy and Clint Larping are easily the biggest highlights for me and I'm actually not minding the action sequences either.

The opening of episode 1 tying into the Battle of New York was dope too.

Episode 1: MCU introduced another dog, which means that the dog is probably going to die, by the end of the series to advance the plot, like what they did with WandaVision.

The music is on point in Phase 4, all over it.
