Error Code (aka The Great PSN Easter Outage of 2011) - Part 1

Oh, I got you. Thought you were talking about not redeeming while the Store is down.

It sucks if the Store doesn't come back today. Hopefully it will be back soon. I guess we should have known this was a possibility when they used PR words like "targeting" and "aiming" in regards to the store coming back at the end of the month.

They should never have given a specific date, because now they will be eating those words.

They are now saying it will be up by the end of the week.

tarting soon, the PlayStation Network will be inaccessible for several hours for maintenance. The server maintenance performed at this time represents a crucial step in the full restoration for PSN, including the PlayStation Store. During this maintenance period, users will be unable to sign in to PSN, though those that are already logged in should be able to remain online.
Resumption of full PlayStation Network service is still on track for this week in most regions.
Thank you once again for your patience as we work to return PSN to the highest level of service.

Coolio.

A crucial step that may still take days:(,But eh whatever at least there trying I guess!!

"esumption of full PlayStation Network service is still on track for this week in most regions"Which means days!

And last week everything was on track for full service by the end of May. They are giving vague estimations to keep the consumer happy but also that do not tie their hands so they can back out at the last minute when they realize that they can't make the deadline.

Here are my thoughts from the other thread:

Forgive the skepticism but they've sang this song before. First it was "shortly after the PSN restores." Then it was "By the end of May." Now it is, "By the end of the week."

I'm so sick of Sony and their excuses. They keep giving us just enough to keep us happy while avoiding giving a concrete date so they can keep moving it back once they realize once again that their left hand has no clue what the **** their right hand is doing. I have been a huge Sony apologist and I am so sick of their ****.

careful matt, you voice you're opinion to much and the sony die hards will explode.

the blogs are almost laughable, its full of people basically on they're knees asking for another

I couldn't have said it better myself Matt.

I saw that while reading the Sony Blog. The comments are insane. People respond with comments like, "Thanks for giving us updates!" and "Sony is so good about being open with customers!" (despite the fact that it took them so long to even admit that they had been hacked and people's information had been compromised and have yet to give us an answer about anything). Then if someone does something so innocent as request a timeline and people bite their heads off. Sony apologists are nuts.

AOTS said that someone is going to address the elephant in the room at E3, but they'll skirt it.

My guess is that they will poke fun at it with Kevin Butler.

Sony Computer Entertainment has just released a statement that will please many gamers. Today according to Sony, the company will fully restore service to all the PlayStation Network and its services. Starting on June 2nd, North America, South America, Europe, Asia – excluding Japan, Hong Kong, and South Korea – will see the return of the PlayStation Store and all other facets of the PlayStation Network.
As you may recall, earlier in the week Sony stated that they would have the service live by the week’s end and it looks like they’ll deliver on this promise a little early. Additional details will be revealed on their ‘Welcome Back’ program in the coming days as each region will detail their respective plans on the program.
The exact time and hour of when it’ll go live isn’t known, but the service will be live on June 2nd and Sony’s PlayStation Store will flood with new content once again.

So there's a chance that it will be back up as soon as in the next 24 hours?

Yep. It's going to be a mad dash. Hope it doesn't buckle under the stress. Did I just jinx it? Lol.

Yeah, that's my only concern, that so many people will be trying to download as much free stuff as they can right away that the network goes down again.

Ah, and I was just headed to bed. So when do we get all the free stuff?

The PlayStation Store is back online and thank you everyone for your patience. You will notice a huge lineup of new downloadable games, demos, add-on content, themes, avatars and videos. Also, PlayStation Plus has been updated with new full game trials, free games and DLC, free avatars and even more discounts.

You may have noticed that the content promised as part of the Welcome Back offer is not yet live. It is currently in the final stages of testing and will be available to download soon; we’ll be sure to let you know when.

The next PlayStation Store and PlayStation Plus update will be this Friday, June 3, and then we will roll right into some special publishes starting next week for E3 (so be sure to check back daily!).
