yes please...you tried to hurt Sony and all you did was hurt the gamers

Im calling BS. They claimed the site was down for maintenance a week ago, that was NEVER true and they knew it. Sony thought it was something they could just clean up themselves and they were wrong, now they are doing spin control while their stock plummets.

I doubt this has any long term repercussions like some are saying, but Sony just created an example at how not to deal with a situation like this.

Agreed. Sony just tried to save face at first... it was a major blunder. It won't have HUGE repercussions or anything but they will lose customers. That much is to be expected. I myself said I won't be renewing Plus... I just would rather not risk it.

Keep in mind I HOPE Sony rebounds. I also hope next gen they have a top of the line yearly subscription service.

I have no idea what went on but I doubt it was super easy to figure out what had happened. Especially if Sony is working with the FBI, I'm sure they had to be careful of what steps were taken for such a serious crime. That and maybe to catch the hackers quickly which I hope so.

I will just get a new debit card not a big deal. I check my credit bills anyways every month, as should everyone regardless its no different to me then any other month.

This does suck though, and I hope Anon gets smashed. It's funny how they have completely shut up now, because now they know they are in huge trouble. And will take a lot of heat because of it.

So wait... WAS this Anonymous? I was lead to believe it was a different group and that Anon stopped after GeoHotz was released.

LOL!!,That's awesome and so true,I can imagine Sony technicians reacting the exact same way as Sam L.Jackson!

Pleeeese!,I hate this hacker crap!

To play games online? I really hope not.
This would make me give up playing online unless I get a big raise in my payment.

I don't really play on PSN so I doubt I'd buy it... but if they had a service that you paid for I'd be willing to bet they would be a bit safer. Granted if a hacker wants in and knows his stuff, he'll get in.... but in my experience, when things are "paid for" you just get an over all better service.

Someone already filed a Class Action. I posted it a few pages ago, I imagine that won't be the last.

Will it get anywhere? Doubtful... More so if Sony does sweeten us up with some offers of free games and whatnot once they come back online.

...Will they? lol, doubtful. :p

Maybe everyone gets Playstation Plus Free for a year That would be awesome!!

I bet they were planning to have cross game chat be a Plus only feature, but I could see them making that a free feature because of this.

This doesn't seem to be Anonymous' style. They tend to act more like Internet trolls as opposed to thieves.

Sony is offering Double Station Cash day on Saturday, April 30th...there is also a 'make good' plan for DC Online and Free Realms coming soon

What exactly is Double Station Cash??

maybe, but in being successful internet trolls, getting people's personal information is part of their MO.

All my life, I always thought he said "I hate this heck 'a crap."

It's like a whole new world, now....

Haha, I actually thought the same when I was a kid. :funny:

It doesn't make very much sense though does it?

I really dont think there's a big issue of identiy theft and I dont think this was done to steal people's CC info. here are moer simpler ways to go about that. This was purely to piss off Sony in regards to Geohotz and the hacker issues from the past year as a way to show them that "haha, we hackers won". In attacking the PSN, they've effectively done what they set out to do and that is cause a PR mess and potential finahcial problem for Sony. I really dont think they care about a random user of their service. They'd be extremely foolish to use any cc or personal info obtaiend for identity theft anyway. That is done to unsuspected people, most of which usually dont catch it till months later. With all the attention this is getting and cc companies notified, it'd be easier to trace and find the person responsible. Thats why I dont think most people really have to worry about this
