Carpenter will be an executive producer and will exert creative influence over the project. Fox’s Mike Ireland brought it in and will steer. The hope is to reinvent the property with an eye toward launching a new franchise.

I agree to this, but sadly I think the studio won't.

As for a new Snake, I wouldn't mind someone like Garrett Hedlund or even Boyd Holbrook. Those two stars are on the rise and could be well suited if Fox are going down the franchise route.

Wyatt Russell is a good actor but he doesn't have his dad's edgy charm that helped him pull off Snake.
