Evil Dead 4?

evil dead is'nt high art by any means evil dead is the definition of cheese they are what they are

We'll see how this goes. The Evil Dead movies are awesome. However, not seeing Bruce Cambell as Ash will be very strange. I wonder if they'll use an entirely new character.

Then abandon all hope. Cody's gonna **** this up ROYALLY... -_-

Someone else wrote the script shes just handling re writes. So if it sucks, cant put the blame on her. Raimi and crew would be just as responsible for greenlighting.

They should. Evil Dead without Ash makes it pointless to have an Evil Dead film, but not having Bruce as the character would be a way worst scenario and would have fans lashing out graphically. New character lead sounds like the way to go if Bruce is not Ash.

I never like to post in this fashion, but I'm tired and It's all I can muster to say......

This is going to suck.

I dont think shes a good choice either, shes not a bad writer imo but I dont know bout her for Evild Dead. If they cast a new younger CW looking Ash I will rage. Campbell aint dead so they better have him supporting/cameo as Ash. Evil Dead fans have been waiting patiently for part 4 (which at points we were told would happen) and now we get a ****ing remake. BS

I think this is what will happen. If not , **** this movie.

Man, I hope so. These films rely on Ash. Unlike other horror franchise icons hes a hero and not a villain wearing a mask or make up. He cant simply be recasted and covered to look like the old version. Recasting some newcomer who is nowhere as iconic as Campbell is just a huge mistake. Hes essential as the lead and we follow him through out all the films. Thats why there as good as they are. Whats the point if hes not there? Its just another random horror flick. Evil Dead without Ash is like Nightmare without Kreuger or Friday The 13th without Jason. It should never be done. They should either cast Bruce, leave it alone or call it something else.

The Evil Dead series is overrated. They are mediocre at best. And I stress 'best'. They are mostly terrible.

^That is the point, noobie. Watch yourself (addressing Truu)

If they're not going ot use Ash...why not just go a step further and make this an original flim not tied to the name Evil Dead?

I get the point. It doesn't make them good though. If I intentionally make something terrible, does that make it good?:whatever:

I did like Drag Me To Hell though. That did a much better job with the humor, while still making an entertaining movie.

I take it your not a Bruce Campbell fan. Are you a horror fan in general? The first Evil Dead is one of the best horror films ever made and pt 2 and AOD are hilarious, and pretty ****ing well made especially on the budget. They are very stylistic films. If you dont appreciate Raimis humor then I can see why you dont like it. But its far from overrated imo. A majority of contemp horror Directors are influenced by Raimis movies, and thats not a bad thing.

Money is the only reason I can see. Has a strong following with the name alone. They know idiots like me will shell out the cash regardless what I think because its related to my favorite films. Otherwise its pointless.

No , they're actually good. Underrated is the best way to describe these films.

The first one is definitely underrated in my opinion. I hated the sequels though. Like the slapstick comedy became way too much of the focus. I really don't have faith in this as a remake/reboot but if it goes back closer to the lines of the first I'll at least give it a try.

I like the original, but I LOVE ED2. The perfect combination of scares, creepiness and comedy. But does anyone else not really care for Army of Darkness like I do? I mean,it's ok,but there's no real horror in it,the deadites aren't scary or creepy at all and Ash has pretty much turned into an annoying cartoon character. Everyone is entitled to their opinions,of course, but I really don't see why this one gets so much love.
