Evil Dead 4?

I like the original, but I LOVE ED2. The perfect combination of scares, creepiness and comedy. But does anyone else not really care for Army of Darkness like I do? I mean,it's ok,but there's no real horror in it,the deadites aren't scary or creepy at all and Ash has pretty much turned into an annoying cartoon character. Everyone is entitled to their opinions,of course, but I really don't see why this one gets so much love.

I do prefer ED2 over Army of Darkness. Ash in Evil Dead 2 to me is the perfect "middle ground" between the overly terrified guy in Ed to the cocky badass in AOD. It is funny how his personality change happened over the course of his second night in the cabin.

Evil Dead 2 is my favorite with Evil Dead 1 coming in at a close second and Army of darkness at a close 3rd.

Will this be a straight up remake of The Evil Dead? Or more of a combination of the first two? Or a whole new re-imagining entirely.

If Raimi is somehow on board, then I will give this a chance.

But no Campbell? Is Ash even going to be in this? I can't imagine anyone else playing him.

Ash does turn into a parody of himself but I still found it enjoyable. I think the first two are better and a different experience. I've always hoped for an Evil Dead 4 that would bring it back to slightly more serious tone though.

What's the point of remaking the movie if they're gonna put Bruce in it? Don't get me wrong, "The Evil Dead" is my not just my favorite horror movie, but my favorite movie all together. Imagine the scares the movie could deliver this day and age in theaters. And "Drag Me To Hell" confirms Raimi's still got it. Give him that budget and we've got a great remake on our hands. It's time for someone else to step up to the mound. Whether it's Ash or completely different characters, who gives a ****? Honestly, no one watches the 1st Evil Dead for Ash, you watch pt 2 and "Army of Darkness" for Ash. That's when it was all about him, but in the first movie it was about all of the teens in that cabin up until he became the sole survivor. Now were they doing an Evil Dead 4, then yeah keep Bruce. I wouldn't wanna see anyone but Bruce as Ash in a CONTINUATION, but as far as remakes go? Yeah, new faces please. That's like them remaking "Halloween" with Jaime Lee Curtis still in the role of Laurie.

And I really don't get the Diablo Cody hate. She's definitely one of my favorite writers. "Jennifer's Body" wasn't amazing but remember she didn't write this script for the remake so give her a shot.

I'm all aboard.

I'd see a fourth Evil Dead movie, but I think the series ended nicely with AOD's theatrical ending.

I'd like to see what looks like a remake but, halfway through have Campbell come in to save the people in the cabin.

Never recast Ash. If BC is playing any sort of acting role in this at all, they should hurry up and admit. Otherwise this thing is gonna teared down.

I just hope they don't try some "pass the torch" thing like Indy 4 was hinting at and totally screw it up. No one can replace Ash but maybe having a son (and a suitably good actor) can take on the mantle instead in some way.

We'll see, I guess. Though, I don't see how indy was passing the torch in Indy 4. There's a rumoured Indy 5.

It was meant (rather obviously to me anyways) to be Indy's son Mutt being the new Indy in any sequels but they backed off of it after people panned the fourth movie so harshly and reacted so negatively to that implication.

Maybe I'm wrong but that's how I remember it.

Not really. He was about to grab Indy's hat at the end but Indy grabbed it first. That was meant to say that no, you won't be taking over.
