Evil Dead 4?

I'd just like to see a trailer already. If Bruce said he's seen the film already, they should be ready to release a trailer soon I'd think. I don't know if this will be able to capture the greatness of ED2 or AoD though.

Also why did they never do an ED4 or a AoD2 back in the day? Did AoD not make enough or did they just feel like moving on? I like those movies, and still watch them when I see them on tv.

Good question!

I was wondering just that after watching AOD te other day..

And why didnt Rami have Campbell play more than cameos in his movies?? The guys has great presence and comedic timing.

Campbell would have made a better Oz than Franco...the OZ movie looks like AoD story, some shlep who gets transported to another time and place needs to redeem himself from a jerk to a savior to the people. This could have been a great part for Campbell...

@ Fives: you are right. From what has been released, the creative team has made it clear that they are telling the story in a different light.

If this is indeed filmed this slipped way under my radar. I'll probably give it a chance, really hope Bruce had a little something to do with it. I met Bruce about a month ago, really nice and down to earth guy. Would love to see him cameo in this.

Still, I'll hold judgement until it is out, or at least initial reactions until we get a trailer.

Good to hear he has not turned into a jerk, unlike others in the genre.

I met a few pretty awesome people at a horror convention a month ago, including Bruce. Kane Hodder (Jason, from Part 7,8,JGtH,and X) is a great guy. I forget his name, but one of the guys behind the Jabba the Hutt effects, Pinhead from hellraiser, and alien facehugger effects was at the con and was amazingly friendly and really informative too.

I heard talk beforehand that Bruce was kind of an ass, but once meeting him, he really is that charismatic guy he portrays himself to be. He isn't Ash, he isn't any of characters, but his characters really are him, and he's a pretty sarcastic, witty kind of guy. Really great getting to meet him.

While we may see something on the internet, I'm not expecting a trailer until 2 to 3 months before the movie opens. This is not a blockbuster which is going to spend tens of millions making sure every person on the planet knows of its existence.

A good sign of confidence in the project if it appears at Harry Knowles' Butt-Numb-a-Thon. I wouldn't expect anything before that.

Wasn't Evil Dead 2 basically a reimagining of Evil Dead 1? Some different characters but same premise and situations.

If this is a reboot of ED1, does that mean we wont see Ash and his Boomstick since Army of Darkness was the sequel to ED2.

I thought the orginals were great but they were great BECAUSE they were low budget. I don't see the point of rebooting with bigger production values.

Bruce Campbell Says Yes to 'Army of Darkness 2'
10/22/2013

"Ash would have to stop occasionally from chasing some deadite to catch his breath," he joked. "Maybe we could do that, I guess. That would be exciting." Warming to the theme, he continued, "Fight in a walker. That would be alright. Hit them with my cane. Fake them out, have a fake heart attack, distract a zombie. I like it."
Finally, though, he gave the crowd what they -- and Evil Dead fans worldwide -- wanted to hear. "Alright sir, the answer is yes." Now all we need is for Raimi to tell us when we can expect such a return to greatness.

......hopefully

I'm going to try to not get excited about it until it starts filming.

I saw Bruce confirm that on twitter a few days ago but I didn't want to believe it because he's a sarcastic smartass sometimes and he might've been yanking some chains.

You see to me, it sounds like a "yes" in a "if I say yes, will you stop asking the goddamn question?" sort of way.

Hasnt Raimi been confirmed to direct it as well, or is that just a rumour? Either way I hope it happens!

It's all rumor at this point. Other than Bruce saying he'd be in a sequel it isn't confirmation OF a sequel.

yes but this tweet of Fede Alvarez from yesterday give me more hope:

If they don't make it this time....then this has been one hell of a tease haha. Don't think Raimi has anything goen on either, hope we get official confirmation from him soon.

Been waiting way too long for this flick....

I won't believe anything until Sam Raimi says yes.

If he does, it'll be a massive midnight event movie. You are required by law to view it this way.

Sam said he was going to work on an Evil Dead 4/Army of Darkness 2 script over the summer but that doesn't mean anything until he says he actually did it and completed it.

Won't this technically cross over with Jane Levy's character? I'd love to see it myself.

Like everyone else,I'd love for this to be true, but I won't get my hopes up until cameras actually begin to roll.
