Exiles: Proteus-Morph Discussion

Well, in fairness to Claremont, it's probably tough to write him knowing that he's a soulless, subhuman abomination now.

As if Claremont cares about writing any character that's not Psylocke :o

And I'm still confused as to how this son of Namor guy in New Exiles can be called Gambit. It's like taking someone from an alternate universe with the powers, personality, and appearance of the Hulk and calling it Squirrel Girl for the sake of it.

I don't know what you're talking about because I'm blissfully ignoring New Exiles' existence.

That is pretty much what he did with Gambit. Does it make sense? No, not really.

Of course he also has an alternate Kitty Pride that is....well....pretty much Kitty Pride from the 616 universe. Plus we have two characters from 616 on the team.

It's all really bland, boring, and predictable.

On top of that, he seems to think all universes have to revolve around the Fantastic Four or Wolverine. Bleh. :down

Yea, I never cared for Sage either, but the point is that by filling the team with characters like this, it makes it less likely that the cast will revolve, which stinks, since the constantly shifting cast was one of the positives to the series.

I'd like to see her die and come back in the body of an elderly black lady from Manchester.

I'd like to see her try to explain how her now-telekinetic sword seems to function in exactly the same nonlethal way as her psychic knife did.

Yeah, whatever. Is the Shadow King even trapped anymore? I'm surprised she hasn't gone back to using her telepathy by now.

Well vanguard what do you think of the pic?

Pretty cool stuff. I could do without the spider arms though personally. As we saw with the Iron Spider costume they change up Spiderman's fighting style too much and not (IMO) for the better.

The rest of the costume stuff is perfect though. I am effectively placing THAT Spiderman in my exhiles dream roster.

sweet glad you like:up: sep the arms of course

The arms are cool and everything but when you add too much stuff that's Alien to Spiderman's normal MO it stops feeling like spiderman and becomes some guy in a fancy costume who also has spider powers that he never needs to use.

Like the difference between Spiderman when he was in the Iron Spider costume and the Scarlet Spiders of Avengers: the Initiative was basically ONLY that Spider-man made quips.

That to me doesnt seem right.

Your right the other design was sort of turning into the gyver costume.

I like Exiles the most under Bedard when it was a clear cut 616 book..and not really an X-book at all.

A diverse team ..and a diverse set of stories...thats how this book SHOULD always be.

I think he means it wasn't so wholly focused on X-characters. Bedard brought in Spider-Man 2099 and Power Princess from the classic Squadron Supreme and stuff.

They should have used it as a way to get Spidey 2099 into the 616 universe. I absolutely loved the 2099 series. :(
