Well, they serve alcohol. The cop said they got news they were serving minors.

I'm upset that they added yet ANOTHER kryptonite.

Just finished the episode.

Not bad. Overall I give it an 7.5/10.

4th Best of the year after: the 1st three episodes.

-Superman movie reference
-The Duke reunion.
-Jonathan contemplating running.
-Daily Planet

Bad points:

-The villan was pretty annoying
-Not as action oriented as other episodes

Next week looks interesting...

WHOA! Kristin KISSES Michael!

The preview for Splinter looked amazing! I can't wait to see that one.

I enjoyed tonight's ep..more for some of the individual fun stuff though. ED is just too gorgeous for her own good. I liked how her strip dance started out all dorky, but then she kicked it into high gear and really owned that pole. ;)

I had a premonition that they were going to use that song for her dance. Seriously.. I heard it in the car a few days ago and I thought - *that's* the song they'll probably use for Lois's dance. I am not kidding. Pinky swear even.

The Duke boy stuff was sorta, meh, for me. I thought the talk in the car was really awkward. They were having this serious dialogue about friendship and honesty and there's silly Duke music, for lack of a better term, in the background. It was fine though, the boys were kinda cute together in a nostalgic way.

Where the heck was Martha? We haven't seen her in what? 2 or 3 eps now? A throwaway line about why she wasn't there, like we had for Lana, would have been nice.

Jonathan's such a big jerk to Lex. I know Lex is the bad guy.. one day.. but still, Jonathan was annoying. I noticed they had Lex accuse him of being on a pulpit.. only to have Jonathan refer to himself that way as well later in the ep. I guess he agreed.

Lex is still walking that line... a little bad.. a little good. MR wears LL like one of his custom-made suits, perfectly.

I can hardly talk about Clark in this episode. I think my retinas actually burst from the beauty of that man in this episode. Good LORD! At the end, when he was standing on the roof with Lois and looking up, we had yet another CLASSIC vision of Superman. I can't wait for the screencaps from this one. I think I can even get some myself now.. ;)

He was so very funny ordering that Coke. Straight up, with ice. LOL! I'm not sure he got the whole "lapdance" thing though, he was adorably uncomfortable.

I also loved his closing scene with Lois.. SO much better than that cheesy one at the end of Aqua. This was not as in-your-face.. but it showed more chemistry and potential future romance between them than I've ever seen. And some of you know how much that means coming from me. ;) "Aye, aye, sailor," perfectly delivered too.

I always think AM does a good, and usually above average job, but her early scenes seemed a little rough, to me. Not sure why.

I liked the helicopter scene, or at least the part where Clark was holding it like a balloon on a string. Nice movie nod, but again, not too overt as to be annoying.

Oh, and Lois kicking that guy's butt in the apartment was awesome. I kinda like violent, don't-mess-with-me Lois.

Did anyone else think the scene where the girl (Melissa?) was run over was suprisingly graphic? I swear, it looked like we saw her hit and run over by both sets of tires! And I'm pretty sure that street scene is the same one they used for the scene where Alicia revealed Clark's abilities to Chloe.

Damn.. sorry this is so long. It's the beer. :D

Lois and Clark together are just amazing. Good episode, and it showed just how little Lana is needed.

It's late I just got back from a hokcey game, I'll post more in the morn. I enjoyed the epsiode a lot. I'm still snickering to myself about the "Aye Aye Sailor" line.... :D

Put glasses on Clark and we have our new Lois and Clark Part Deux. lol

I think this episode did a great job showing why Lois will be a star reporter as opposed to Chloe. She outdid her with her observations in the scene with Lt. Sawyer at the Planet.

Speaking of the Planet, did anyone notice that the elevator door at the Planet in tonight's Smallville look very similar to the one that is in Superman Returns (Bryan's Blog "Clark Returns")?

Omg.. KalKai.. thank you.

I can't stop staring.

18 means you can vote an' are considered an adult, but you still need to be 21 to be in an establishment that serves liquor or of an adult nature. 'Sides, nobody said THEY were th' specific minors, although they did not belong there.

Well, where I live you can get into strip clubs and regular clubs at 18. So when I watched the episode I thought it was weird they kept calling them minors, especially Lois who is a year or two older than Clark and Chloe.

And can someone please tell me what happened in that first Chloe/Lois scene? Or the last conversation b/w Clark and Lex? I missed both parts.

She said serving minors, as in alcohol.

Except none of them had any alcohol. Where I am you can get in at 18 and as long as you don't drink its ok.

Listen, they were in a strip club. Strip clubs serve alcohol. There were other minors there. Hence, they were serving minors alcohol.

We had this conversation earlier in this thread. There are SOME clubs that allow 18 year olds in because they don't serve liquor. But, you can bring your own liquor in (if you're 21) and they will serve it to you, for a ridiculous fee no doubt.

The club in this episode looked like it definitely served liquor, therefore I would assume it was a 21 and over club. But Clark ordered a Coke.. so they weren't serving alcohol to a minor.. technically.

Enjoyed the ep, but clearly not as much as a lot of other people. I probably should have enjoyed it more given that there was no fotw, it centered around real crime, and had solid acting.

Still this whole season has been good to great so I can't complain.

I really hate the new intermission follow ups.

The worst one has been, "If you're just joining us, Clark has been shot."

The line I didn't like was where Jonathan said he'd never liked Lex much. That wasn't just harsh, but also it didn't quite fit continuity. ("Exodus" and the wedding gift, anyone?) Other than that -- no, Jonathan wasn't at his best in the scene (see, I CAN admit that my most beloved character has flaws :) ), but he does have good reasons for finding Lex untrustworthy. And I really felt for him when he learned the truth about his best friend. That would hurt.

As for Jonathan being sorry later for having been on a pulpit (no, Lex, not a "pull-pit," a pulpit. Why didn't someone teach MR to pronounce the word properly? ), that was perfectly in character. One reason I'm so fond of Jonathan is that he does realize his mistakes and learns from them -- he's done that in any number of episodes.

The "Dukes" stuff was fantastic for me. And props for whoever thought of putting JS in a blue shirt and a baby-blue car -- really brought out those gorgeous eyes of his. :D But you're right, where was Martha? These unmentioned and unexplained absences are just getting weird. And this episode could really have used her -- to have a slightly different opinion of Lex from Jonathan's, for example, or just to see her interact with an old friend. That was a major mistake.

Great Dukes of Hazzard references throughout. An example of how small one of these references got was the angle of the car slightly jumping off of a dirt mound and back onto the road. Same angles of the car as used in the DOH show. But, for any major DOH fan were some of the occasions that Jonathon and Mayor(Tom Wyatt) talked about occasions from the show, or just made up?

Great episode, the look of surprise on Clark and Lois' face was priceless when they discovered each other at the bar. Very funny.

Also great continuation of the Daily Planet and next week's ep is definitely going to rock. That TV promo spot was off the hooks amazing.

I laughed my butt off at Lois's attempt at dancing and Clark's order. The Dukes of Hazzard mean nothing to me but my husband loved it. I don't mind not seeing a character with such a large ensemble show I'd rather that then a throwaway scene just to fit someone in. Besides if they are going to continue for a few years it wouldn't hurt to give their actors a little time off once in a while.

ANY PICTURES WITH SCENES FROM THE CLUB??

CLARK IN A CAPE???
:supes:

Ok this one what kind of meh for me. I enjoyed it but several things seemed kind of forced and out of place, while a few others didnt make sense.

The Dukes were great. I loved the references but looking at the storyline some of the stuff including the car ride just seemed forced.

Chloe at the Planet. This still bugs me. She's really over shadowing Lois though Lois did come up with the trump card on what the girl was wearing. Seems like they missed the spot for some character development for her. We still dont know her major or if she's even in college. Also why the hell is she hanging out in Smallville.

This ep seemed to setup JK's run for Senate(?) but that's all the further the story got pushed.

The helicopter scene. Why wasnt Clark lifted off the roof? He cant fly yet he shouldnt have been able to stay put. Though I did notice the field around him when he jumped.

Overall this one gets a 3/5. I'm wondering when we'll get back to the caliber of episode the first 3 put out. Also with the way they Lois was touting Chloe's feelings for Clark early on she's so dead in 100.
