Way to back-peddle there buddy.

I accept this as your statement that you too thought the episode sucked. Glad we agree.

Boy, Lost sure does suck this season.

Where was I back-pedaling? I never said it was the greatest episode of Smallville. In my review on The Kingdom, I'll probably only give it a 3 out of 5. I just disagreed with your assessment of it being utter dreck.

Back-peddle any faster and you'll go back in time. When you make it to yesterday, call me up and tell me not to watch this stupid episode.

What are you guys seeing there?

It's pretty much the same image in the pic that avidreader posted. But it looks almost like a photo negative of Supes standing with his arms folded. If I wasnt at work, I could do one of those out-line thig-a-majiggers...

So you putting words in my mouth, and me bringing that to light, is back-pedaling? Please show me the error of my ways, and where I told you this episode was "great"? It's okay, I'll wait for you

Here is the deal, this season was hyped and marketed as Clark in training. He was supposed to be learning more from Jor-el, including new powers and more control over current powers. This is a plot device that should be able to extend for an entire season's worth of episodes yet they pretty much have only used this hyped up plot for the season opener  It's time for his journey to take another step damn it! We also had it hyped that Lex has made the jump to pure evil and here we are again with his back and forth relationship with Clark leaving that bridge of friendship extended yet again. They are taking such a safe filler approach instead of diving into a complete season of a journey.

I can outline at least a few things that should have happened.

1. They should have shown the process of Clark starting college as last season there was a build up to that moment. After all this is part of his journey as well. I wouldn't have minded to see how everyone else makes their decision on where to go either. All the sudden *boom* we see him in school.

2. Clark continuing to meet with Jor-el and learn something new as well as be tested and learn more of his Kryptonian heritage.

3. Clark handling his relationship with Lana as an adult. I mean this is the person he is having sex with, doing the most intimate thing you can do with someone and yet she is cut out of the loop because he's not sure she can handle the truth. I could never see Superman as having the kind of character to have a relationship with a woman and do everything together, yet not tell her the truth. Of course he is not Superman now, but still that character should exist even when he's just that farmboy in SV.

I also have to say another thing I find stupid is that Clark in every adaption always immediately liked Lois upon first meeting her. Since they forced her into the show with her whacky kung fu snorefest scenes... They are stuck with making them hate each other since he's supposed to be focused on his sweetheart Lana. Lois was a big mistake and waste for the show. Not to mention Erica looks like a 30 year old stripper and not because she went under cover in that last episode.

Ok I will digress at this point...

This post addresses every problem I have with the show as a whole. Too much filler and not enough exploration. Smallville is increasingly Smallminded.

The whole not telling Lana thing has drug on for three seasons longer than it should. It was a mistake to introduce Lois, and there is no chemistry between Erica and Tom. She is too old looking and is very sexless, in the same way Halle Barry ,while correctly proportioned, lacks sexuality. In other words, she looks like someone who thinks that sex is icky.

seems not many people liked this episode but I have to say I really enjoyed it. We knew Hidden to Splinter would mostly be fillers and IMO Exposed was the best of the fillers for a few reasons Lana in MIA, Lois and Chloe, Lois and Clark, Metropolis, and actual crime instead of a FOTW storyline

Well I really like it too, I just had different reasons for liking it. :)

Not silicone.. more likely saline.

Think water balloons. :)

I like that Chloe reference a few people have mentioned.. with putting on the angel wings. I didn't pick that up. That's why I like reading everyone else's comments.

KK was, according to what I've read, still filming Partition. This story was written without needing her character at all, so I didn't miss her. Of course, she's still my favorite girlfriend on the show. I'm just not psycho about it.

And yeah.. the shipper wars are alive and well across SV fandom. I just try to avoid the things and places that annoy me.

This may be my last refuge. lol..

I hear ya. When it comes to the shipper wars, I'm happy with whomever makes Clark happy. Right now, that's Lana, which is fine by moi! If he dropped her like a hot potato tomorrow, that would be fine too - as long as there was somebody else on the horizon. I really don't like seeing him alone. That makes me sad. :(

That's always been how I feel about Clark as well. I just want him to be happy with whomever he chooses to be happy with and if that's lana right now then so be it.

Okay indulge my ignorant side here and tell me what you guys got out of that reference. I always like to see if I'm on the same wave length as others, I missed it with King David, but hey?

For me I have to admit I'm kind of like a parent in the sense I want whats best for Clark and at least in my opinion Clark and Lana don't rub off too well together but like I said that's just IMO

Is the wings a reference to Chloe being the one to die in the 100th epiosde? Its probably not but that's just what I thought of when I read it

The wings reference would be carrying the weight so to speak on your shoulders like Clark has to in being a hero.

This was along the way that I was thinking also, I'm wondering if that is a nod to the fact maybe she'll be the one to bite the bullet.

It's always been Lana, from the very first episode. It's an integral part of the show for me. But I understand that it's not so for everyone.

As much as I want Clark to be happy, I also want Lana to be happy. Clark will go on and eventually fall in love with Lois, but I don't think it's destined for Lana to ever really be happy. :( I am curious how TPTB will end her part in this story.

Her trying on the wings seems to reference Chloe's potential for actually becoming an angel in the 100th ep. :)

I think that the intent of the King David speech was two-fold. To teach Clark a lesson about the imperfection of heroes.. and to foreshadow his best friend wanting his woman, and doing something underhanded to get her.

Could be, or her taking the wings off could be an indication she ain't ready to go...

;)

I think that could do either way....

I think they are sweet, but I also think they are very high school. I kind of like the friction between Clark and Lois. You know what friction equals....

I was so there with you on that one. He was blatantly laying out the plan right in front of him. Poor Clark, what it must be like to be so naive? The things I could teach that innocent soul.

WTF is with Clark, man?? I realize he's in love with Lana, but MY GOD he's still a teenage kid, why the hell did he look so damn uncomfortable around the strippers. I mean really.

I'm sure her story will end with us all feeling extremely sorry for her. It could be why they paint her the way they do now. She has had a very tragic life.

It could have meant tht but it could also have meant that carrying the weight of the world on your shoulders is a heavy burden.

Um, maybe you forgot the fact his heat vision comes on when he thinks about sex? :p

I imagine Johnathan would be just as uncomfortable. Some men just get embarrassed by that sort of thing. He's the boyscout after all. If he had been all kicked back and comfortable it wouldn't seem very Superman like to me.

your so right. his reaction when he saw the stripper on stage and when he was ordering a drink were all great.
but when lois was on him, give me a break, he's still a guy, and lois is still an attractive girl, he shouldn't have been THAT uncomfortable, he should've been more of a wiseass.

after all the **** lex and clark have been through this season, WTF was that? it's like their back to being friends, for pete's sake! this is the 5th ****in season.

for a gentlemen's club, there sure were alot of girls with their tops on. and WTF was with the applause after she got done? and why wasn't anyone suspicious. she did NOTHING but one swing, it's not that hard to dance around a pole especially when you're trying to make it believable.

and btw, all the other girls at the strip club put erica's body to shame. if you ask me, erica needs to eat some food, and work on those legs.

well, yeah, uh jonathan is married. there's a difference between being embarassed and disgusted. clark was disgusted.

um....no.

it comes on when he's starring hard at something, not when he's thinking about sex.

he was starring hard at that teacher's bod when it activated for the first tiem.
