Ezra Miller Is The Flash - Part 1

Wasn't a fan of the "I've never been in a battle" line in the trailer, honestly. So far it seems like all of Barry's lines are just comedic.

I thought the line made sense. Seems to me up to this point Berry has never encountered anything more powerful then a guy who throws a boomerang. He probably hasn't fought Captain Cold or any other of his rogues yet.

So you throw him into the deep end fighting parademons of course he's going to be nervous.

So sad, just watched the trailer and it's the second one where I'm not blown away by Flash.

Jesus, what about "prototype suit" have people still not understand at this point? Barry built it himself, that's why it does look so segmented and wired up.

You can dislike the suit, but don't act like it's his final costume/there isn't any thought put into this suit as his first.

I simply can't quite fathom the armored feel of the suit. Flash is a character based around movement and evasiveness, so his look should reflect that. Runners, dancers, gymnasts, and other people for whom maximum movement is essential take a minimalist approach to their attire. Barry should have as well. It's a minor annoyance to see Flash looking like a living Kai Arts figure.

I guess most most dancers don't deal with gun fire and aliens...

Runners, dancers and gymnasts don't have to fight at the same time tho. And they don't have to deal with a huge amount of friction.

e: and guns and aliens, good point Matt. :p

i dont like the look of the suit. it just screams too busy for my taste. however i can appreciate some science if it thrown in there. If the say that the wire act like a grounding rod do that he doesn't electrocute people as he runs then that only makes it a little better.

but it still doesn't forgive how the back of the helmet looks. take about awful

i actually prefer the two tone red on this statue than the one we get in the movie

His look does reflect that.

The armor and cowl are clearly designed to be aerodynamic and to allow for a large range of motion.

He's in dangerous situations, and he's realistically going to need armor sometimes, to protect himself while running and from attacks. Even the comics have pretty much gone to the "segmented armor" approach.

This is true. As a dancer, I frequently find myself breaking the light barrier. Fortunately, I wear Adidas track suits, which can withstand anything. Even time and space itself.

Face looks like a combination of Ezra and Grant Gustin.

Tis gon be my new sig, thanks.

are you sure? ive looked at a lot of pics from the set without the color grading and it looks black

If you go to page three of the no discussion photos thread you'll see high res photos of the suit, the areas are red, but they're such a dark red that you can rarely even tell, the coloring on this Koto statue brightens and pumps up the color on those areas considerably.

What if his second suit has more advanced tech that does the same job as the wires but lets the electricity running directly through the suit in certain "lines"?
It could be a cool adaption of this:

Might just be the ab padding that's crimson. The rest of it does look black. I could have sworn I saw closeup pictures of the rest of it, and it was crimson.

Not too bothered by the suit, I think it looks cool in action.

By the way, check this thread on Reddit about speedforce and the way Barry tries to control it.

(Zack posted a clear picture of the above table with words "Tried Yoga, no results, and hurts a lot too" written on it on his Vero page.)

Some nice theories about it: https://www.reddit.com/r/DC_Cinemat..._i_dont_think_flash_is_doing_yoga_for_comedy/

See how the lightning goes everywhere and could potentially hurt people around him if he is not careful? Now, let's take a look at him after doing the yoga pose

This is so different, the lightning stays in his body and doesn't interact with what is around him.

Considering that we know that Flash has been doing homework to be a super-hero with his suit, I think that he saw his lightning was dangerous and decided to learn yoga to master his powers. But if he doesn't prepare for it, the lightning could be dangerous and that it will a plot point for how powerful he is, he won't be able to do it when he wants

I also think it could be the purpose of the second suit. It will control the lightning and he will be able to go full berserk without worrying about yoga"

Thoughts?

Sorry if already discussed!

i dig how his powers were caused by an accident involving lightning (if they are going to go by canon), and now whenever barry manifests his powers - it will produce alot of electricity.

I think you are on the right path here. I posted a similar idea. To effectively use his powers at this point, this version of Barry needs to center himself or the like. I think this is how they are going to keep Flash's ability from being to overwhelming to the film's story.

I'm not a fan of the armored pieces from the comic either. If Flash is moving at such a speed that he can burn flame-resistant material, then he would certainly vibrate segmented pieces apart. Although since neither a superconducting suit or armored pieces would actually fit into a ring, I guess we have to mark out either way.

It would be sweet to see energy popping off of him and constantly running through his costume like the comics, but that might be unnecessarily costly like with GL's movie costume. Still, the post-Rebirth Flash art has been stellar in its use of speed force/energy visuals, so I hope we get a little of that in the film.
