Bethesda Fallout 4

I got the season pass the day the DC was announced. Good deal for 25 bucks.
I just got it from Best Buy for $20, using a $10 rewards certificate that was about to expire. Great timing on all fronts and I'm really happy that Bethesda announced everything ahead of time. It really makes me respect them a lot and I wish more developers would learn from them.

I just started playing, I wonder if I should stop and start it over with the first DLC or two in April...
I had GOTY of FO3, Broken Steel was a great continuation for the main quest, I hope we'll have something similar for FO4

Since Fallout 4 doesn't have weapon condition, I decided to try and animate what it might look like.

Fallout 4 : Voice Actor Goofs, Announces Fallout 5 In Pre-Production

Posted Mar 07, 2016

Fallout 4's Deacon aka Ryan Alosio, goofed up a bit today with an inadvertent slip up on Twitter that announced he was working on Fallout 5 which,
according to the now-removed Twitter post, is now in pre-production.
FO5.JPG

This has not, of course, been confirmed or denied by Bethesda but we'll see what the next days bring. Still it's great news for Fallout 4 fans...maybe not so much for Mr. Alosio. Pretty ironic given that no mention of Fallout 4 being in development was made in over five years. Oh well, right?

"They're a long way off. We just have more going on now than we had before."

Fallout 4 Dev Clarifies Comments About Three "Big and Crazy" New Projects
"I should have never said a number because we have so many things. You could add it up in different ways."

During a February speech, Fallout 4 director Todd Howard said Bethesda Game Studios had three "big and crazy" projects in the works. As it turns out, this is not exactly accurate. He tells GI.bizthat he wishes he hadn't shared this number at all, as it doesn't provide a very clear picture of what's actually happening inside the studio.

"I should have never said a number because we have so many things. You could add it up in different ways," he said. "You could say it's bigger or smaller. They're a long way off. I think the larger point was, no one should expect to hear about those [games] anytime soon. We always overlap projects. We just have more going on now than we had before."
Howard mentioned that Bethesda recently opened a studio in Montreal that is focusing on mobile, console, and PC game development, though it is unclear exactly what the office is responsible for. Whatever the case, Howard said Bethesda is in a good place right now.

"We feel we have a pretty good footing and we're in a particular place and time where we can try some new things and be confident that they'll find some success," he said.

Following the big success of mobile game Fallout Shelter, Bethesda plans to make more mobile titles in the future.

Looking further out, Howard said previously said he has "lots of ideas" for what might come next after Fallout 4. Another area that Bethesda is looking at is virtual reality, though Howard made it clear that it is still very much early days and it remains to be seen how much attention Bethesda will give to it.

"We're exploring some things [in VR]. We'll see where that heads,," he said. "We don't want to talk about it quite yet until we've figured some things out."

Howard also talked about how Bethesda looks at competing games, especially those from Grand Theft Auto V and Red Dead Redemption developer Rockstar Games, to help make its own games better.

"I met [the Rockstar] guys a few years back. I think their stuff is amazing," Howard said. "We look at their [games] more than anybody's in terms of how they make the world around you alive in a way that you can appreciate and play with. When it's just for show it doesn't matter but they do a really good job of not just the scope but letting you interact with it in ways that really pique your curiosity and make you feel that you have agency in that world."

Next up for Fallout 4 is the game's first paid expansion, Automatron, which is scheduled to launch in March for PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4. As for Howard, he will receive a Lifetime Achievement award next week at the Game Developers Conference for his contributions to the industry and specifically 3D role-playing games.

For the time being I think I'm going to take a pass on Automatron. Fighting robots has never been as exciting as being in combat with 'living' creatures for me. As fun as they can be to listen to, and as cool as they look, it's more of a chore and never as satisfying to fill a robot full of bullets (or however you might put an end to it). Watching them clumsily battle each other doesn't do it for me either.

Automatron has been pretty good so far. I have been enjoying the mod'ing of 'bots.

I totally forgot about the DLC. I'll probably play it tomorrow.

In the base of the DLC villain, I have encountered an infuriating glitch: no gravity. My character will be flung to the ceiling, when I am trying to fight a robot or open a box. And the solution I found is to crouch and proceed, which is time consuming. I hope they correct the issue soon.

Fallout 4 : Survival in the Commonwealth Arrives for Testing

Posted Mar 29, 2016

Fallout 4's Survival Mode is ready and waiting for the strong of heart. As of today, Survival Mode and its newly overhauled features is available for PC players via Steam, with the console version headed into game next month.
In a new blog post on the Fallout 4 portion of the Bethblog, two FO4 designers, Josh Hamrick and Jon Paul Duvall, discuss some of the recent changes to Survival Mode and the reasons behind their decisions.
At a high level, we wanted to force you to make interesting choices. We did that by bringing more contrasting motivations to Fallout 4 using the type of circular systems you might find in a game like Dark Souls. (By which we mean, two or more systems that push against each other.) This resulted in four major pillars for Survival Mode.

  1. Strategy: Intensify decisions involving when to get into combat versus when to avoid it, and also make you think more about what gear to take into combat. Then back up those decisions with faster, more brutal fights.
  2. Exploration: Slow down the pace of the game and encourage players to explore the nooks and crannies of the world.
  3. Resource Management: Balance out items in the world that may be too easy to acquire or horde, giving players more to consider when planning their current loadout.
  4. Role Playing: Increase the realism of the world and the issues one might face there.

You should give it a try.
The DLC is more than just fighting bots. The real reward from the DLC is the ability to create your own bots and it's so awesome!the customizations is insane! you can customize every single part down to it's voice.

Aand there's a surprise if you're a fan of The Silver Shroud:cwink:

Is it just me.. my robot obliterates things before I can really even shoot. Which in turn I don't get exp .. :(

I dare say this might be a tad over powered.

Turn up the difficulty. I play on hard and it's more of an even fight with the Bots.

Love the fact that this DLC also adds new enemies to the Gameworld.

Yeah... the DLC so far has been mediocre which is a damn shame because Fallout 3's DLC was better than the main game.
