I never said reshoots have been going on for months, nowhere in my post do I say that. More than 3 or 4 days obviously happened though so Kinberg did lie.

I'm also not in a fantasy land that believes that this production hasn't had troubles that the studio obviously doesn't want the public to know about. I think something is going on with Josh Trank in particular.

Exactly. Something is clearly amiss with this production, I'm baffled when I see people try to deny otherwise.

We didn't exactly get a lot of photos or news about them during principle photography.

Afaik there was some papz shots of a few of the cast entering or leaving the sound stage and that was it. No photos at all from the few location shoots.

Not hard to beleive the main cast could have been re-shooting stuff on the lot and it be just as under the radar as the principle stuff was. Possibly more so, since officially Fox have not admitted it's been ongoing sporadically for a while now.

Movie wise right now? Yes. But I mean as far as fan base and history, Fantastic Four by a mile. I think Mad Max may out gross this movie.

Oh Mad Max definitely will, no question about it.

Ok. Who? What's their source?

I think they were stating it was something they had heard from someone working on the flick. Along the lines of it being a 'mess', but also 'salvageable', so not entirely negative. Grain of salt at the ready as ever with such rumours but Kinberg was thought to have taken a good deal of control over managing the alleged salvage operation.

It does tally with other rumours, the leaked email/texts from Kinberg suggesting not all was good with Trank, the Trank approved cost cutting OTOY being dropped, and Kinberg baby sitting Trank for that bizarre teaser commentary.

By no means to be blindly accepted as truth however, it is just rumour at this time. I figure the truth of it all will come out eventually one way or another.

I hope you are right. This thing could honestly go either way. You have people here who hate everything that they've heard about the film but plan to still see it in theaters, which is odd.

Anyone else confused about fox's explanation of Reed's powers? Bending space around him? so i guess his power is only an illusion lol.
Or is he like a black hole and spaghettifying himself.

Crazy right? They should have just said his cells increase permeability allowing him to stretch. Or just say he stretches.

Personally....I see no big deal (as in calling people liars) about someone a while back saying there will be 3 or 4 days of reshoots and now we find out there are more than that. Many times you can say that something will take X amount of time to do before you start it....and once you start doing it, it extends for one reason or another. If they started correcting something....and then saw how nice the new stuff turned out...someone high up can make the decision to do more corrections. It's very possible someone at FOX has took all the complaints from fans to heart and made a decision to try and fix some of the things they are worried about.

I can't be the only one who reads your posts in James Earl Jones voice.

If I were in Kinberg's position I'd lie to but that doesn't mean I, a laywoman, will believe the lie.

Filmmakers, studios and actors lie all the time, for good and bad reasons.

I don't really care in the slightest about Kinberg's moral character. The key point here is the reason he lied appears to be that this film - which I am following very closely and is the basis of this thread - was considered a 'mess' by the studio and required extensive reshoots at considerable expense in an attempt to fix that mess.

We'll have to see what that means for the final film, but while we don't know a much about this film it seems we now do know that in January execs thought it was a mess that required extensive rework. Thats all. No more, no less.

Based on the latest trailer, the movie doesn't look like a mess, far from it. And that's all that matters.

Well at least for me, I prefer forming my opinions based on something concrete and not just on internet gossip and conjecture.

It's all confirmation bias. People latch on to what they want. I see the same people who supported the film months ago still supporting it now and vice versa. But honestly there's been nothing definitive released about this film to sway anyone either way. Personally I thought both trailers were extremely mediocre and the last one made me like the film even less. Just can't get behind this whole "reimagining" of the FF and the film looks plain bad and generic. Any supposed praise for these trailers is nothing more than the The Emperor's New Clothes to me. But to each his own.

I will say this - had we gotten a faithful FF film done right in the beginning I would be much more receptive to a new interpretation. But since I will never get that, I reject this one outright. Especially since it prevents me from seeing a faithful FF done right. I know Marvel would have given us the FF the fans wanted.

Not picking on you cause everyone is differently but generally the feeling to change is always

If we'd had 25 years of well-done permawhite joker without crazy prosthetics, who's a dapper guy who dresses a certain way, I'd be fine with something different.

If we'd had 25 years of grey fabric batsuits, I'd welcome black rubber (on the proviso that it looked good) for a change.

It's not that I want things to ALWAYS be the "right" way, it's that I want to see something 90+% faithful a few times first. That finally happened with the Batsuit. I don't feel we've got that with the Joker yet.

There's no such thing as faithful/done right I guess. It's always wrong.

That argument doesn't apply so much anymore as there is now much more faithful adaptions of costuming for CBMs. For instance now Deadpool is pretty much exactly how he looks in the books. Even your example Batman is now pretty much a dead ringer for how he looks in the books.

And Raimi's Spiderman was right yet we still haven't gotten it right otherwise Garfield's would have been cheered. Yet we are still arguing about Ditko eyes and the round spider.

I hope the reshoots do away with the Domashev stuff and just call him Doom from the beginning.

I highly doubt they plan on making his name literally Doom. I'd venture to say even the "illustrious Marvel Studios" wouldn't make Doom his literal name.

This is the key point to me that gets lost in all the 'debating'.

People will argue about Superman's shorts and the shape of Spidey's eyes or the spider on his suit, and that can seem a little silly for anybody but the most hard-core fans.

But that's not what we're talking about here. We're not talking about black vs. white fours. We're talking about a group of actors that don't vaguely resemble ANY of their comic counterparts wearing uniforms that don't vaguely resemble ANY of their comic counterparts and a tone (body horror) that doesn't vaguely resemble the tone of of any comic books.

I'm fine with reasonable changes. I'm fine with a Neutral Zone origin, and if they had matching blue flight suits, I wouldn't be b****ing that they didn't have '4's.

This film doesn't feel like FF to me in anything but the most superficial ways and that's my problem. I don't need it to be 100% , but I'd like it to be higher than 25%.
