This production has been very closed, hardly anything leaking out, so we usually ended up listening for and discussing everything that did appear here.

Oh, ok.

I'm not trying to jump the gun here, but my thinking is that Fox probably perceives this movie as a failure and hopefully Marvel gets the rights back.

I'm probably asking for too much haha.

Not at all. But it's looking more and more like FOX should have taken whatever
Ike Perlmutter offered last spring for the rights, as reported by Bleeding Cool.

FOX may have lost most of their negotiating leverage, but they may still be able to get the approval for one TV show in exchange for full FF rights reversion.

Sneider is saying Josh Trank physically threatened him in the past. I'm now remembering those rumors that he was abusive to Mara during production and hoping they weren't true. The house ones probably were though. I guess he felt the need to show that house who the boss was.

Not surprised Trank is off the Star Wars anthology

I wouldnt be surprised if he didnt come out for FF2

Dudes an idiot.

I think the only hope for his career will be if Michael B Jordan gets super big and he does what De Niro did for Scorsese and pick him up out of the gutter

Not at all surprising, but just a real bummer for all involved.

If we could be sure this would be it for Fox, I could take some comfort in that, but the fact that they forced this through even though it was so screwed up just shows how they'll do anything to keep pumping out crap.

Also explains why the cast has been so awkward about the whole thing.

I don't think that this attests to the quality of the movie, but more of a confirmation of the rumors of Trank's behavior. While I don't have a lot of faith, other people working on the movie could salvage it. Trank's career on the other hand doesn't seem salvageable, and it has little to do with Fantastic Four, but more to do with his behavior

I think this also sheds light on why the cast has not wanted to really speak much about the movie. Way too much outside crap going on that can come up.

I agree the film could still turn out to be decent or solid.

I don't know how anybody can still bury their head in the sand and pretend that their is no chance that the production was super troubled. Personally I don't believe most of these types of rumors when they come out but there is too much smoke for me to ignore all of the rumors surrounding FF.

I understand initially not wanting to believe in the rumors and thinking it was fanboy crap from hardcore Marvelites but I don't get continuing to believe that now.

And people thought I was crazy when I pointed out that Teller saying he couldn't say much about this movie was a bad sign...

The only cast member who seemed cool about it was MBJ.

If Trank were replaced as planned, would that have meant that MBJ would've gone too? Because he was Trank's choice and his idea for a Johnny. I don't know if Fox would've gone with him otherwise. He certainly didn't earn his role.

That is extremely telling...and I was actually thinking that many could just be blowing off steam being miffed at how he was treating the source material, but damn....some of the biggest arguments as to his ability and how his onset/offset behavior just wasn't true because...he was going to direct a Star Wars movie. Just wow...

Yeah, I didn't believe the rumors because there was no way Disney would trust him with Star Wars if they were true. Him leaving Star Wars (with a vague comment of "personal reasons" gives a strong suggestion they were true). The current unconfirmed rumor is Disney told him not to come to Celebration. That isn't confirmed yet, but that would be completely damning (at least now, it's possible he's being let go because of his refusal to go to Celebration).

As soon as Trank stood up Kathleen Kennedy at Celebration, and knew all these rumors had to have some truth to them. They were still advertising him minutes before the show started. It is sad, as Trank probably needs help. But this also shows why so many in the know were and still are weary about this project.

I agree..... *sighs* it's just sad that I couldn't be feeling that way AND saying....wow, that looks and feels just like the F4. :csad:
Sorry Kelly. I can tell this means something to you. :csad:

I like this tweet
Hey, here's an idea: if you weren't willing to publish a story about Trank before, don't jump in to do so now. Seems cruel.

So where are the people who thought Trank had a promising career ahead of him? I think his career is pretty much over. Will he be black listed though?

He really should have walked when Fox wanted to replace him. He was only kept on because no one else would join this train wreck but he knew it was a wreck which is why he probably ended up high and lacking motivation.

Is that not Drew McWeeny? The one who attacks without provocation, because he has dislike for certain directors. Who post BS story after BS story, then acts like it isn't his fault his sources were wrong. The one who actually gets in twitter beef. The guy who conjured up BS about JJ and LF, only to be found backtracking as the film gets more and more love both behind the scenes and in the wild.

i dont know. Dont know the guy. I dont visit Hitfix often

*raises hand*
After Chronicle yeah I did think he had a good career ahead of him.

He could still have a promising career. But he is starting from the bottom again. If he does have a substance abuse problem, I hope he gets help.

We all knew this was coming, once Trank failed to show at the SW Celebration. Really unfortunate if his behavior has put him out of a job. Oh well... there are many other talented directors available to take his place.

Doesn't bode well for the Fantastic Four.

In that case, why did you post his remark?

because as i said I liked his tweet and agreed with it. Got it from Jeff Sneider's twitter, he retweeted it.

I dont even know who Jeff Sneider is I just looked at his feed after I saw people on here mentioning him

Some are reporting he was told to stay away from Celebration, which is even worse imo.
