Um, guys lets read our posts before we actually hit reply.

Seriously...

Fantastic Four would be a 4. It feels reminscent of X-Men: First Class. It is a pretty good origin story and sequels should benefit from already having the characters and their relationships firmly established.

I hope you're right! :ilv:

I hadn't checked Simon Kinberg's Twitter account lately, but I checked to see if he was linking to the recent promo vids or anything. I see Kate Mara there and for a split second I think Kinberg has actually started acknowledging this movie on his Twitter again, but it was a link to the trailer for The Martian. That's still several months off. It seems kinda strange that he hasn't used Twitter for Fant4stic promotion since April 19. I know he's not super active on social media, but it's odd that he's using it more to promote films releasing so much later than this, almost as though he's moved on.

Hollywood studio's know what kind of film they're dealing with. Take Jurassic World for instance. I personally think the critics are going to have a field day with it. Apparently the studio does to. Otherwise they would've shown the reactions from a test viewing a least a week ago.

Basically a studio knows what a critic friendly film is vs Bayformers crucifixion which at this point knows they're going to get the sh@ft on RT so why bother.

Unlike Bay the Jurassic series came from quality so there's a somewhat higher standard for it so the bad reviews may hurt JW's box office. But unlike Fourstic at least Universal has been confident enough in their film to show things to the actual movie goers throughout the course of filming and during post. So it's likely that JW will have a 50% RT rating and still do good box office numbers.

Why?

Because they're actually marketing the film oppose to treating it like a cold sore they can't cover up so they pretend its a hair bump whenever asked about it. LOL!

I've been checking all of the main cast plus Josh Trank and Kinberg and I've seen very little related to FF - really for the past 6 months or more.

If this thing does any business or is at all good in the least bit it'll be a friggin' miracle because nobody involved with it seems to care all that much outside of baaaare minimum.

To be fair it's not unheard of for a cast member or producer not to spend countless hrs promoting their latest project day in and day out.

But in this case Fox missed the memo that this particular reboot needs all the good press and marketing it could get. Unless keeping the rights by making this movie by the deadline was all that was really necessary.

Even if it flops I'm still sure that Disney would cut Fox a check. And if it does turn out to be a success then Fox can play the game of keep away that much longer.

“I’ve been around some version of this for a long time,” said Kinberg, who credited Trank's vision for "Fantastic Four" with convincing him to sign on to the project. “This, I would say, is particularly cruel. I haven’t really seen this level of vehemence against a filmmaker. And it’s surreal and unfair." ~Kinberg

Funny thing is if all was peaches and cream with Fox and Trank then would they have called in Simon to scribble over his past script in the first place?

Has it been confirmed that any of these guys will be at SDCC next month?

Marvel won't even be pushing their TV series? How weird...

FFINO have finally beaten them into submission and caused them to stay away out of fear. :o

Marvel won't even be pushing their TV series? How weird...

New York ComicCon is in October and that will likely feature an "AKA Jessica Jones" panel.

Marvel will be at SDCC, they won't have a hall H panel. The big promotion for Civil War will be at D23.

They have to have something at Comic-con, I can't believe they are going to skip it.

They don't really need comic con anymore though.

2nd and 3rd seasons can be tough, and with WB's and CBS's new stuff coming out in the fall, I think this will be a missed opportunity.

It's not that they don't need comic-con anymore, they just alternate their panels from Comic-con to D23. In 2011, they didn't have a Hall-H panel, and they saved the big Avengers promotion for D23 2011. They were back in 2012 for the Iron Man 3 Panel, and were there in 2013 and 14.

To me it's a smart strategy with Warner having a pretty big panel for SDCC, to move to D23 where they will have exclusive attention.

James Gunn has mention earlier that Marvel had no plans on being at Comic Con this Year. And with D23 being this year it'd make since that they're saving there news for that event.

The strategy doesn't help Ant-Man at all. It will have been in theatres a month by the time D23 rolls around this year. Comic-Con would have been a perfect fit timing wise with it's July 17 release.

It does seem odd to me that Marvel would not have any presence at all at SDCC.

That's really boring if Marvel isn't really presenting anything, their stuff is among the most expected every year.

Well, DC will offer great things for sure and Fox probably too. The panel they had for DOFP was really good, so i hope they got something similar for Apocalypse. FF will obviously get some coverage too.

AoS and Agent Carter will probably be at SDCC with the other ABC shows, but Daredevil and Jessica Jones will be at NYCC.

Pretty much how it was handled last year.

they really never do panels for a film that comes out that close... there's usually a SEVERAL month bumper. Comic Con usually is for showcasing and announcing films (and footage) that no one has scene... we've seen quite alot from ant-man at this point. It'd hurt the film more than help it. They have nothing to announce.

We've got a comic con in Iowa this weekend. Don't expect much FF coverage though.
