As for the TV rights to Fox's films, I'm guessing those are due to Fox and Marvel renegotiating some things and Marvel deciding to not completely shut out Fox's properties due to fan backlash.

I seriously doubt that. The broadcast rights were probably just available and Disney put in the highest bid for the package of films that included Fantastic Four. Fox, for some reason, does not want people to watch the Story films right now. They're not going to make a deal that involves broadcasting movies that they're actively pulling from all digital platforms.

TV rights are just a completely different story... and it's the networks that make bids for them...

TV rights don't honestly have an effect on the movies... it's the other way around... like Sci-fi has been showing the Jurassic park films all week getting hype from the movie to have viewers come back and watch the originals...

Disney bought some TV rights for F4 and i'm sure it and FX will be playing those films more closer to the new ones release.

it's really win/win for FOX

Well they are removing them from iTunes because they weren't very good.

If iTunes removed movies just because they weren't very good, they wouldn't have very many movies left. There is more to them not showing them than just because someone doesn't think they are very good.

im thinking they just removed the "on demand" movies because well... many movies get released now straight to "demand" and they likely just wanted to avoid confusion... the TV rights to air the movie wouldn't effect this film

Another person on the panel (the moderator, maybe?) actually asked the crowd why they were booing and Feige chimed in that Mutant was not a great word to say. Also, there was definite booing during the Ant-Man stuff. Add in the crap that went on at NYCC for Daredevil (people wouldn't get in a damn line properly) and it really does seem like the big cons are just drawing more jerks these days.

Trank's Fant4stic will be booed if they don't vet the crowd.

"Oh don't worry Mr Trank, they're not saying boooo, they're saying...Dooooom."

I wonder if the cast will be allowed to talk about the movie.

They weren't allowed to talk about it at Cinema Con until a formal interview happened, and those sort of interviews are more scripted than many people realize. Teller telling the crowd that he couldn't say much was more telling than what Teller told the interviewer.

LOL. This is true.

Could it be fear that the first 2 were better?

Did Sony treat Raimi's Spider-man films like this during the reboot?

I meant that they weren't very good and would hurt the box office of the new film.

Is it possible Marvel had something to do with the digital copies of FF being taken down?

The reason I ask is I noticed when I was converting my DVD's and Blu-Rays on Vudu, all the older Fox/Marvel films - FF, Daredevil, Elektra, early X-Men etc. were eligible for conversion. Recent Fox/Marvel films (seemingly since the Disney buy-out) like DOFP, The Wolverine etc. weren't eligible.

Additionally, Marvel films aren't eligible, but Fox films like Dawn of the Planet of the Apes are eligible.

So it seems that Marvel has some control of digital distribution for Fox/Marvel films and I'm wondering if they're exercising some of that control with FF prior to the new film's theatrical release.

Just saw the first FF TV commercial on the NBA finals. Mostly clips we've already seen, with a little different dialogue, but it was well edited and quick. I think it might be pretty effective for getting someone who doesn't know the film to be curious.

liked jordan's delivery of all his lines

i'd like to hear more from teller, mara and bell at some point...in due time i guess

I think that commercial was the best marketing I've seen so far. They crammed all the scenes if the four using their powers into 30 seconds and that made it recognizable as the Fantastic Four - unlike most of what we've been seeing.

Thanks for sharing. I agree with Willie. I think that's got to be the best marketing I've seen for this film. MBJ is the most interesting part of the TV spot actually.

It's too bad Fox makes it so easy to hate this whole production though.

Am I the only one who's really bugged by their version of Harvey Elder?
