Willie has a great point about the X-men. That's a completely separate franchise helmed by completely different people save for Kinberg. The only thing the two properties really have in common are the Fox logo in front of the movies.

So licensing is the reason they're not releasing any new photos?

I want to see a good photo of the Thing. I want to see a good photo of Doom. And I want photos of all characters doing something more than standing and staring.

How do licensing agreements prevent them from doing that?

A two hour film has to have a lot of really cool scenes. This should be special effects heavy film and that means there are some great visuals that didn't exist when the trailer was made. Why don't they show any of those?

The story has to be complex enough that they're not going to ruin the whole thing by showing us a few cool images.

Partly yeah, the more products and packaging you have to account for, the more images you have released and made to fit the packaging and licensing companies to choose from.

We'll I can't help you on that. I liked the Bose speaker suit so I want more but I also already have some good shots of it. And I like the flame effects, invisibility fields, and stretching in this one versus the other movie, so I'm kind of content with how they are approaching this visually so I'm content it's in good hands(for the most part).

Yes. You're missing image upon image upon image for the 6 months prior to release.

There were behind the scenes images, there were action images, there were a variety of posters.

All we've seen for FF are images that came directly out of the trailers and then the shots of them all standing around.

So you want more. That's fine. But we have gotten all of those things.

This...

*sighs*

The reason that people are still upset with what they are seeing and repeating those things is because....THAT IS ALL WE HAVE SEEN, we have seen absolutely NOTHING else.

The reason that people are *****ing about those that are *****ing is because they too, HAVE NOTHING TO TALK ABOUT, because they have seen absolutely NOTHING new.

Oh, so they aren't upset cause they're passionate fans and this isn't the FF long time fans wanted anymore?

Good to know they've moved on past that.

On Twitter, Jamie Bell just posted a photo he took of a movie on a theatre screen - it looks like he could well be at a screening of F4. If that is the case, I would assume the film is finished.

Let me ask a simple question. Would you like to see more?

If so, why not just say: "Yeah, it would be cool if they could show us something new."

If not, why hang out here?

I don't understand why we can't just discuss things simply without bringing up X-Men in every post.

"I don't want to see a really cool image of Ben battling Doom . . . because X-Men." That's what I seem to be getting.

Geez, Jamie couldn't get a better seat than that?

:cwink:

but seriously, thanks for the head's up.

I'm wondering though if it's a set for something new he's working on.

Various dialogue from the FFINO movie to show this movie is worth seeing... because of X-Men:

Ben: "Look at me! I am a monster. I am no longer a man. I am an ex man."

Reed: "We should mark this with an X."
Johnny: "Man, I wish I had thought of that earlier."

Reed: "Sue, I think I'm still hung up about you seeing your ex."
Sue: "Man up will you?"

Sue: "If you keep staying in the lab all evening, I'm not cooking you your eggs."
Reed: "Manipulative much?"

I am hoping for a big reveal of a protagonist that isn't Doom. I'd be satisfied if Doom develops in the film but isn't involved until the end. That would not contradict the trailer.

I'd like to see Annihulus.

Someone confirm this, but I thought I saw FF characters on cans of Crush Soda?

Nice, thats a little ahead of schedule according to MBJ who thought it would be in July.

Cherry Crush is my soda of choice, but I haven't seen any promotions yet on any of the cans I've bought.

I didn't go shopping this weekend though.

Not really. I'm intrigued by the little I've seen. I don't want to be spoiled of a really awesome scene in a tv spot.

I'm asking the exact same question in reverse.

I don't like mint ice cream/I don't like blogger Doom
I don't like the texture/I don't like a non-Latveria ruler
I don't like the after taste/I don't like him being tied to the origin
I hate the color/I would prefer the 616 visual and mystical

Now convince me that mint ice cream is good/Show me a good image of Doom

It's like you're bending your self into a pretzel to do something you'd rather not.

Why are you here?

On the soda cans, there's a picture of MBJ saying "you'll see it anyway." You can cherry crush his smug face under your boot.

Because he is a multi-decade fan of this comic book, who is hoping that he is totally wrong about this movie.

He has been very straightforward in how he feels, he has not disrespected one poster on here, he has been called a racist, yet did not retaliate, he has simply shared his vast knowledge of this comic family.

So the question is, why would he NOT be here?

"Michael B Jordan, what is your response to fans who do not think the Human Torch should be shilling cheap carbonated beverages?"

"They'll drink it anyway"

He's on the Crush that you're supposed to drink piping hot. And MBJ's saying "you'll drink it anyway."

Edit: Damn it, Whiskey. Beat me by a half second!

When fans are excited, they've had five page conversations about the difference between Wolvies claws on his hand vs. coming from between his fingers(as if it anatomically makes sense either way) lol.

To me, whenever a discussion about the movie effects/other is positive, it descends back into the negative very quickly cause either some fans don't want to engage in simply discussing the movie positively or will find a negative point to end it.

Why would he not be here?

Cause they're are forty other forums of discussion about all kinds of comics.

He could start a thread discussion about the comics he's a fan of for 40 plus years and post images and have positive discussion about the stuff he likes and the history of the characters for newer fans like me.

After a year, of not being impressed by what he's seen or gotten, the thought of some one magical image to turn things around seems fool-hearty to me.

Sometimes you have to be the person who stands up and says, “I’ll be the one to shoulder all this deliciousness. I’ll sell the Cherry Crush versus the vastly more popular Orange flavored version.” I put that responsibility on myself. People are always going to see things in terms of soda flavor, but maybe in the future we won’t talk about it as much. Maybe, if I set an example, Hollywood will start considering more varieties of fruit flavored carbonated beverages, and maybe we can reach the people who are stuck in the mindset that “it has to be Orange.” Or maybe we have to reach past them.

I think you are the one twisting yourself in a pretzel. Willie and I are longtime FF fans. It is my second favorite book next to Iron Man/Avengers, for Willie it's his first love.

Let me just say this. I don't have much interest in Ant-Man as a character. He was a *****ebag in the comics. I loved Wasp, and was more looking forward to them in an Avengers setting.

When I first heard that they were doing an Ant-man movie, (and my first recollection was back around 2006 or 2007), I was like "meh". I could care less. I was never interested in Ant-man as a solo character.

Having seen the trailers and TV spots for Ant-man, I can't wait for that movie to come out! I am going to see it opening night. Not because it's an MCU film, but because it looks exciting, it looks funny, and it looks like a fun ride.

Now maybe the movie will suck, but that's not the point....

I love the FF, but none of what I've seen the FF promotions has interested me one bit. Not one bit. It sounds like Willy is the same.

Forget what company made what, and explain to me why a franchise that I would be more than willing to go see opening day (and I saw both terrible versions of the FF on opening day), that I have no interest in seeing at all?

Add insult to injury there's a guy directing this film, calling me a racist fanboy on twitter, and I'm even less inclined to go.

The fact is the film crew on this project have completely alienated the fanbase, where in the case of Ant-man, they made me interested in a character, that I really never cared about before (other than Ultron in the comics, which in the movies he has nothing to do with).

This is why many of us were screaming about the marketing, the non comic con appearances, the lack of footage, etc.

Again this has nothing to do with studios. While I'm still mixed about the dark tone of BvS, warner is doing a bang up job promoting their properties, giving inside looks, unrestricted access, and exciting people.

What do you think is more controversial, blogger Doom or Jared Leto's joker that was getting blasted when the twitter pictures released? Well now people see what they're doing with Joker and people are liking what they see. Again it may turn out horrible, but hiding stuff from people never helps.

Then let me put it to you this way. It is a forum for EVERYONE, and probably if asked specific questions, respectfully as I did over 10 years ago, he would be more than welcome to share his knowledge.

But honestly, you don't seem to really care about the early comics, and what is being changed thus far, so why would he feel the need to share his knowledge with you.

This isn't a fan forum for the actors, which are usually much more positive in nature even if the movie doesn't look all that great or strays far from the original source material. This isn't one of those sites, this is a site where these fans know their stuff, and they want their opinion to be heard that they are not happy with how the source material is being treated, and they have every right to give that opinion. As do you...

Everyone has their own reasons for being on this particular forum. As long as they are respectful to each other, doesn't really matter to me what that reason is...

But as far as the long time fans of this CB and those that have been around since long before the 1st move was even a thought, they are welcome here as long as they want to be here and post.
