Fant4stic Fant4stic: Reborn! - - - - - - Part 40

All i'm saying is that there was potential in what was happening in the first 70 minutes of this movie. They went with an idea that was clearly meant to try and reinvigorate a dying brand/property. And from the first trailer there was interest in this. Outside of those who state this was simply a poor attempt to renew the rights. And those who always wanted this to fail so the rights would go to Marvel. Outside of the comicbook community, the general audience were curious about this movie. And the new take depicted in the initial trailers. There was too much behind the scenes mess and ended up affecting the final product, or more or less the final 30-40 minutes of this movie. And that's a shame.

I don't think Fox will give this property up, and I really don't want them to. I would love to see something get made that belongs with the cinematic universe their forming.

X-Men IS and SHOULD be all the cinematic universe they need. What part of "Fox never cared about F4" don't you understand?

Easily. How would Dr. Strange have any bearing on Dr. Doom? Doom knows mysticism, but he is a scientist first and foremost. Heck, Marvel just GAVE us a legion of robots in Ultron. Marvel is not afraid to embrace their characters. Just about all the properties Marvel got back have been put to use quicky. We're getting a Spider-Man solo in 2017 just after Marvel got the deal made. Marvel got Daredevil back, and we got the show inside of 3 years. Now their using the Punisher. Only property they got back who seems on ice currently is Ghost Rider, but I don't rule out an appearance on the Netflix shows for him, either.

If Marvel got FF, they would use it. VERY soon after. They're very quick to use their new assets.

It just shows Marvel is really widening the door on what they are willing to introduce to their universe. Magic, Mysticism. Really far out concepts to get on screen, but it's awesome to see Marvel willing to go for it.

After seeing Avengers: Age Of Ultron...the thought of the Fantastic Four facing an army of Doombots...just gives me chills. I can't even deal with how glorious that could be under Marvel's management.

You see, directing THAT movie is quite honestly my life's dream. If their is one movie I want to make before I die, it is that one.

To be fair, they haven't used anything from Blade yet either. They were 100% considering it at one time, though. As for Ghost Rider, there's definitely potential for Mephisto to show up. I recall a rumor (promoted speculation?) about him popping up in the Strange franchise.

If F4 goes back to Marvel how long before Marvel includes them on the big screen? If ever.

Seriously? You asking this when you saw how fast they pencilled in Spider-Man for the Phase 3 docket after Sony agreed to the current arrangement?

I severely doubt they'll get the Hulk treatment (i.e. Avengers bound only)

Ghostrider and Blade will fit perfectly in the "Strange"realm of the MCU we are about to be introduced to.

Spider-fan, just make sure you give us an actual middle aged Reed.

I need this in life action in my life time.

So distribution rights for Namor and Hulk are tied up with Universal, Fox has production/distribution rights for Fantastic Four and X-Men, and Sony has production/distribution rights for Spider-Man (though they are now partnered with Marvel Studios).

What other properties aren't fully under Marvel's umbrella at this point?

And Moon Knight; especially if they roll with the recent Warren Ellis version for film or Netflix

As far as we know, the only other Marvel characters they don't have access to are the ones from licensed comics Marvel doesn't actually own (like Rom, Godzilla, and the Micronauts).

I'd say Man Thing at Lionsgate but the AOS namedrop pretty much confirmed the film rights may have reverted along side the Punisher (if not earlier since they've not attempt another film)

So X-Men, Fantastic Four, Hulk, and Namor. Spider-Man's off the list so long as Marvel and Sony's deal is in effect.

Yeah. Getting FF back would be huge. X-Men's not going anywhere for a while.

Ellen Brandt, the female Extremis soldier with the scarred face in Iron Man 3, is a Man-Thing character (his wife) They've got him.

The funny part of all this is reading comments from other sites saying they didn't see it because it was not the original cast and it didn't have Jessica Alba. LOL

Marvel has complete access to Hulk to use as they wish just not solo flicks unless Universal distributes. Marvel admits they also have access to Namor.

You laugh, but the last time I talked to my father he was surprised Jessica Alba wasn't in this. I think Fox really underestimated how much the older casual audience doesn't even know who this cast is. They're all good actors, but they don't have instant name recognition from a substantial part of the potential audience.

Ironically I would've welcomed one more Story film complete with Puppet Master and the birth of Franklin over the souless golem FOX unleashed upon the world

And I'm actually ok with that. I still want Marvel to eventually get the rights back to all their characters, but for the moment I'll enjoy as many Deadpool Movies as I can get.

I think the X-Men would actually be the easiest to re-introduce into the MCU, no matter how many years they were apart. The comics have given us the perfect solution. Simply say the current MCU is a world where Wanda got her "No more mutants." wish. When Marvel eventually gets the rights back, make a quick Movie where Wanda's world altering powers get reversed, BAM, we have Mutants in the MCU.

As long as I get to direct the solo where they're on a pulpy space escapade:oldrazz:

What's sad is that at the end of the 2005 FF there was a salvagable franchise. Politely replace Story with an experienced director who had handled large set piece action before. Make no mention of any of Dooms arc from the first film and recap briefly his youth and show him sieze power in Latveria. Have Reed turn Ben normal for a minute and then have the procedure reverse and have him emerge in his more familiar comic look done in CGI. Write Reed as strong and confident from page 1 and don't worry about Alba looking so blonde and blue-eyed and just let her be her natural self.
Have them battle one of their rogues gallery near the beginning and then procede with the full Galactus saga---Surfer, Punisher, Watcher and Big G in the flesh. Have Doom observe the whole drama. After playing out the comic version of Galatus' first trilogy, end it with Doom setting his sights on the Surfer setting up the Doomsday saga.
Yes, you have to spend $50 mil more than they did for ROTSS, but if you nail it you have a viable franchise.
I knew in 2007 that the 2005 wasn't great, but I thought it could be redeemed.
They went cheap and killed it.
Then they went cheaper and desecrated it's grave.
