I like the director's cut, that doesn't change the fact that Fox decided to release the terrible theatrical cut in the first place. If the reaction Ben Affleck's casting as Batman tells us anything, people still consider the theatrical cut awful.

Meh it was hardly terrible at the time

Judging by the reactions it seems the only thing that will sell this movie will be the reviews and maybe the trailers.

This movie is getting a lot of flack the same way TMNT did. All I can say is fox better wow some folks with this because its a very steep uphill battle with this.

And tmnt had nostalgia and anticipation of it being the first live action film in nearly 20 years

This film doesnt even have that

I'm trying my damnedest not to be reactionary, 'cause I know I might live to regret it, and I'm failing hard. They've had three chances. Three. What gets me the most is, people are paid to do this. A costume designer went through so much research and settled on that. A director gave that the approval. This design went through a chain of command and everyone involved was like, "this is good." They rebooted the last franchise for being so bad it almost caused Jessica Alba to quit acting, and after all that time to think between then and now? This. This is the result.

He has a trashbag on his head. That's his hood now. A trashbag. Is he homeless? It wasn't good enough that he was a Norman Osborn ripoff in the last film series? Now Doom is homeless. I've lived too long. What more is there left to see? And I know I'm going to read so many rationalizations- "Don't be so negative, this is just Doom before he puts on the armor. You'll see, he'll be so imposing by the end. It's the performance that counts!" It's 2014. We've paid good money to see crazier things in Marvel movies than anything Doom has called a getup in the comics. How many mulligans must be given before they get it right the first time? If they're so actively embarrassed by what he looks like, why not come up with some other character not named Doom for the Four to fight? They have so many villains the Avengers borrowed a few for their movie. C'mon now.

I'm just so...incredulous. It's awe-inspiring and bizarre and clown shoes all at once. I truly hope this is a great film, that I look back and wonder what I was smoking. That picture, right now, doesn't inspire confidence.

I've never laughed like that since.... the revelation of Halle Berry costume as Catwoman. I'm really sorry for the actor, but even with a great perfomance, how can we take him seriously ? Is this guy supposed to be the leader of one of the most Advanced european country ? A hobo ? The guy looks like an egyptian mummy dressed in trashbags. Even the worst Doom cospaly I have seen is better than that.

I can't explain the hood but..... What if the rest of the costume is the suit that doom and FF wear when the accident happens. Doom gets the worst of it other then Ben. idk

This is the first time when I don't think anyone would mind if the studio took a leaked picture off the 'net.

What dastardly plan could Dr. Mache be coming up with!?

Lets hope this is Doom after he's been burned and smashed by the HT and Thing. Either way my faith in this project which was already below ground level low has gone even lower.

Ok, after this joke, we need an answer from Fox.
Now, it's pretty clear (and this lame design prove it), you never had the intention to release this in theaters at all. I can inderstand a lot of things, but not this abomination of a design. You are dumb, but not that dumb. Be serious, you have made a piece of crap for, what, like 20 or 30 million dollars. And, like with the Corman effort, you, like Bern Eichinger before, will threaten Marvel to diffuse it in theater, unless they paid you the said 20 / 30 millions plus 100 or 200 in order to buy the rights back. That's the plan, isn't it ?

All this talk of CGI-markers on Doom.

Colossus in the X-Men movies had a lot of ugly dull looking costume pieces that were touched up in post to be metallic.

Saying that Doom could be fixed in post is not an excuse as some negative nancies here are trying to not shut up about, it is a distinct possibility that may be the route the movie is going; especially considering the amount of green screen they're alreayd working with, some extra CGI is nothing.

I remember all the *****ing the last two FF had about the costumes as well, when they were great adaptations.

And it's pretty clear this is Ultimate Dr Doom. Don't like it? Get over it.

Just when you think they can't make things any worse.....I mean,I would've bet money they couldn't get the Doom costume wrong.....but they just keep making this film look as awful as humanly possible.

Its like he stepped right out of the comic books.

That Doom looks horrible an disgusting to me, but if you like it more power to you.

Unfortunately, this isn't all that surprising.

In UFF, Doom was involved in the accident and became disfigured and mutated. He wrapped a ratty blanket around himself and became a pathetic little creep that was nothing like Doom.

Simon Kinberg has indicated that's what we'd see in this film and that's what we're getting. I think those who don't understand why fans are so upset and/or those who are surprised by these images and/or those who think the look will be drastically changed by CGI just aren't paying attention.

This is the sad truth that many of us have been seeing in the puzzle pieces for a long time since those puzzle pieces have been falling together.

This is going to be a forgettable film that only vaguely resembles the FF. Nothing more, nothing less.:csad:

This could be his first look. Like how Electro didn't wear the hoody for the whole movie but had a costume in the second half.

This could be what he puts on after the accident, who knows.

In UFF, Doom was involved in the accident and became disfigured and mutated. He wrapped a ratty blanket around himself

So it may be quite comic accurate then.

And people though Mcmahon Doom looked bad...

And I NEVER understood that! I actually thought he looked quite accurate. It just goes to show you, the grass isn't always greener. This is the old situation of leaving your long time GF for something new only to realize that once the newness wore off, the new ***** looked like Destro trying to cap a deer in his piss poor camouflage outfit. :(
