Can we just agree that both movies were more enjoyable than The Dark Knight Rises? :woot:

I love Batman and the Nolan Bat films but I can honestly say Fast 5 and 6 is more enjoyable that Rises. Rises is a borefest now and definitely isn't as good as DK or BB in my opinion.

I like the Bat-films but they aren't uber rewatchable to me.

I just want to say I hope that there aren't hard feelings on mclay18 part. I don't appreciate his dubious Flaming accusations as I wasn't the one who brought up TA in a FF6 thread but a disagreement about a film is no reason to lose respect for anyone. I like him and I respect his opinion and in my own way I was disagreeing with him. I won't be responding to the vast majority of posters who didn't like the film and I completely understand that the Fast series isn't everyone's cup of tea.

Part of the reasons the bat films aren't as rewatchable boils down to the simple fact that you really need to design and stage and plot out good fun action.
Begins is like a master class on how to eff up action that 's on the page.

Justin Lin's little flip car is alot more interesting than most the bat chases, the hand to hand here is alot more dynamic, kinetic and even realistic in ways.

Lin has a great future ahead of him if he keeps making smart moves(such as walking away from a self sabotaging studio after a 4 films). WB needs this guy on on the flash or something of that sort. I can't wait to see what kinda fast film Universal make without him. Maybe then he'll finally be appreciated.

Just saw the movie yesterday and I agree this film was awesome! Kinda sad Giselle died, she's freaking hot!

I'm excited to the next movie, I wasn't expecting Jason's cameo. :)

btw, now that they're all back at their place maybe we'll see one of their friends who haven't died yet.

I cannot rewatch the Batman films as much as I used to. I can still sit through TDKR because I have not watched it nearly as much as I watched BB and TDK. It's rewatchable for me.

Ha! Better films like The Avengers??? The Avengers was just as dumb as this film and not nearly as entertaining, with 45min to an hour of dead air. All the cute Joss Whedon dialogue in the world couldn't cover up that movie's flaws. At least Fast 6 knew that it was nothing more than a stupid action film.

I'm glad that post gave me an outlet to go to town on that film. Thanks!
Thank you for stating "At least Fast 6 knew that it was nothing more than a stupid action film". You said it best. If people go in watching FF6, they must realize this is not suppose to be real and a masterpiece. It's just suppose to be enjoyable.

I watch the Fast and Furious movies for the hype, music, action, actors (not the acting lol), the street racing scenes with hot girls. Not for realism and art.

So many wannabe movie critics here and elsewhere have to compare every movie to "The Avengers" and Nolan's Batmans. It gets annoying. People cannot even give credit to a popcorn flick anymore because they are always trying to figure out how to par the movie they just watched with movies like TDK and TA.

Thakyou! I loved when my audience cheered and laughed because I was cheering and laughing as well. These films are better when you see them with an audience.

Somebody is going to get cut if they make too much noise during Superman though.
The audience made F6 so much more fun for me. :)

btw, now that they're all back at their place maybe we'll see one of their friends who haven't died yet.

They are better off leaving him off. If they are going to bring an old character back, it should be Lucas Black's character from Tokyo Drift (Sean or Shawn). Hahn took him under his wing, so it make sense.

Johnny Strong will be kind of out of nowhere. We might be better off having a brand new character instead of keep bringing old characters.

Amazing how many more times I hear this argument being made when it's not a Michael Bay year. Anyone try's to bring up this point during one of those summers and it's met with a "destroying cinema" type of response.

glad to hear people still do enjoy these types of films.

38 mil on Friday. Good start.

Ummm...ok I realize this isn't a super top-secret-don't-reveal-the-twists-and endings superhero movie but c'mon please use SPOILER TAGS, PEOPLE! If the movie has been out for a week or two sure, that's my bad for not seeing it yet, but its been just over 24hours, it's just common courtesy and it takes SPOILER ALERT:
2 whole seconds to use these!

I like to come on here and read my fellow Hyper's opinions and reactions but when you start talking about characters who die or are resurrected then you're spoiling it for the rest of us who just like to browse some good posts and user reviews.

thalidomide just ruined the ****ing movie for me...I came here to see reviews and he announces who dies and what happens at the end.

****ing ********

Oh my god. This movie was so ****ing cheesy, I loved every minute of it.

Overall I think I prefer Fast Five over this one, but it's still pretty solid. My only three major gripes were (big spoilers):

-Dom launching himself through the air to catch Letty. It was pretty funny because when it happened some women let out an audible "No way." It was a little over the top for my taste.

-Shaw's death was a little weak, I was hoping for something a bit more graphic or satisfying.

-Gisele's death scene. It was a little too cheesy. Super slow-mo shot while shooting and falling away? That was too much. I didn't mind her death and the context of the scene was probably the best way to do it, but I wish they would've done it differently.

My three favorite parts:

-Hobbes and Dom squaring off against Shaw and the big white guy. The moment where they stood side-by-side gave me tingles.

-The first London chase was pretty fantastic, lots of brutal wrecks. And Tyress screaming "Oh ****!" When his light turned red had me rolling.

-Han and Tyrese vs Asian guy was surprisingly fun to watch. The hand-to-hand fights in this movie actually stand out more to me than the car chases.

Regarding the cameo:

When they flashed over to Han's final race, I thought for sure the guy in the car was going to be Ludacris showing up to pull Han out of the wreck. That whole scene just before that where Ludacris says "Call me if you ever need help" seemed like foreshadowing.

I heard about the Jason Statham rumors, but I didn't know that he'd actually cameo in this movie. I guess having Jason kill Han at least makes his death more meaningful. Still bitter about him dying though.

Looks like its going to make somewhere in between 110-120 million. Just wow that's incredible

With those numbers, Universal is going to want a sequel this Christmas.

I am seeing the movie tonight but I think I should leave now as people are posting spoilers all willy nilly now with no spoiler tags. I got a character death spoiled, and a plot point spoiled. My fault I guess for going in here a day after the movie has been out. Ha

Just saw the movie yesterday and I agree this film was awesome! Kinda sad [blackout]Giselle died, she's freaking hot![/blackout]

I'd say so. With Fast 7 taking place after 3, one new return that's certain is Lucas Black's character from Tokyo Drift, Sean.

I hope instead of Dom & Crew avenging Han by attacking Shaw, it's more along the lines of Shaw attacking them one by one and they have to split up to survive. Would be a nod to how in Furious 6, they noted that Dom is at his weakest without his team/family.

That's exactly how I see it. Taking each member out one by one.

Nice way to cut everyone down for a Dom/Brian & Shaw showdown for the end or leave it to Dom/Brian/Letty (+Mia) for 8.

Also, will the next one be 'Fast 7' and then 'Furious 8'? I like swapping every other, like 'Fast 5' and 'Furious 6'.

Unless, they just tweak the title for something newish; Fall Of The Furious (lol), The Fastest 7, The Furious 8, or Ride Or Die.

Finally saw it, I enjoyed it but it's a step down from Fast Five. Looking forward to the next one though.

Saw it earlier today and I loved every minute of it. Just as much as I loved Fast Five actually. The humor and action were spot on. The end credits stinger was amazing and had my audience floored with excitement. Can't wait for 7. Lin's direction will be missed but I'm happy to see him move on to other projects.

so much for spoiler... I always thought we have to put spoiler but amazing how much free unlabeled text just goes out... Please put spoiler in black ink or bold them out or don't type...

The thing is, it's incredibly easy for these kinds of directors to make 'stupid' action movies but it takes a rare one who can make them enjoyable. I'll give Lin credit for staging these ludicrous action sequences, but he damages them with the rapid-fire editing. Especially the fist fights.

I would've enjoyed myself more if I could tell what was going on, even more forgiving to the physics-defying stunts. I had the same problem with Michael Bay's first two Transformers films... not only was he guilty of the same thing Lin did, but he also moved the camera around too much. Ugh.

I enjoy mindless summer blockbusters (Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor and Transformers 3 are guilty pleasures of mine), but I just can't get into the Fast & Furious franchise. It's not my thing. I want some variety other than fast car races, scantily-clad chicks and bloodless violence.

I couldn't get over how unrealistic it was. I know people say 'shut off your brain', but can I get a hint of believable action sequences? I'm thankful Justin Lin will not be attached to fast 7.
