Overall the movie was enjoyable to watch, though it felt slow in some places:

I thought the story was kind of weak in parts; especially the last heist it was just kind of lame imo
-Dom's miraculous save of Leti was kind of a /face palm.
-The whole air plane sequence was another whatever moment, just didn't like how they did it.
The good:
-Fight scenes were good(especially Gina/Leti first fight), Hahn/Rome-Asian dude fight.
-Luke Evans as Shaw; thought he as a good fit for that role.
-The fact they are taking the franchise in another direction; just hope they can dig deeper with the stories and not copy n paste.
-Rome's comedy was well timed and needed.
-Jason Stathem showing up and presumably being the next villain, maybe Sean will make an appearance in next film, as he and Hahn were buds.

I loved every ridiculous minute of this glorious piece of cheesy mayhem. Can't wait to see it again.

P.S. - Longest runway ever.

I liked this one alot better than the last one, and I loved the tie in with Tokyo drift at the end.

FF is this generation's "lethal weapon". Just great fun popcorn action.

I just saw this and LOVED it. Just a over the top action sepectacular. It's just crazy to see how the FF franchise has evolved. However, I still like Fast 5 more than this. The story in this was very good but it somehow didn't seem as epic or engaging as Fast Five's. But the cast is great all around and the action scenes are great as well as extremely over the top. My only dispointmemt was the ending plane battle. I mean the fights were great but it just lacked that crazy HOLY crap momment like the bank vault chase in Fast 5.

Though
Giseles death seemed random and was just a rushed way to wrap her characters arch up to explain why she isn't in Tokyo Drift. The mid credit scene with Satham got a huge shock and awe reaction with the crowd I saw it with. But it was never clear if he is Shaw's brother.

Overall, I give this an 8.5/10 fantastic movie! Can't wait until the final movie Fast 7 next summer. Hope it doesn't suck because of the rushed turn around time.

I honestly don't have high hopes for the next one without Lin. He pretty much single-handedly turned this series around for me, so not only does Wan have some pretty huge shoes to fill, imo, but he's also being given a breakneck schedule to do it in. I just don't see this going well, so hopefully they can prove me wrong.

The Fast and the Furious is the greatest story of our time.

I couldn't get over how unrealistic it was. I know people say 'shut off your brain', but can I get a hint of believable action sequences? I'm thankful Justin Lin will not be attached to fast 7.

Have you seen the previous 5 movies? Realism has never been part of this franchise.

Haha! so true! :D

Co-signed. I really hope they at least push it back a year to give Wan some sort of chance and even then I have a Die Hard 5 feeling about it. I wonder if that is why Lin left? although in truth the way this movie ends wraps up his post-TD trilogy ([BLACKOUT]The Statham scene just a case of leaving a hook for the next director[/BLACKOUT])so maybe he was done anyway.

Pretty sure Lin said he wasn't comfortable by such a small timeframe to do the next movie.

Also, Fast 6 is looking to be Universal's first movie to ever reach a $100 million 3-day weekend.

Saw it. Loved it. Though overall I feel Fast Five was a more rounded out film.

Loved the final sequence with the plane and now with that final scene, I actually feel obligated to check out Tokyo Drift…up until now, its the one film I ignored as it had no real connection to the current films.

And now it does.

Gotta laugh when Evans brought up the past [BLACKOUT]about stealing DvD players. Geez even back then i thought was stupid.[/BLACKOUT]The franchise has come along way since then and i hope it gets the ending it deserves.

Saw the movie and thought the movie fired on all cylinders! (pardon the pun)

I knew what to expect going in: car chases, over-the-top stunts and effects, testosterone-fueled action, hot half-clothed girls, etc, and F6 delivered everything awesomely. Holy crap! Absolutely loved the action from the car chases to the beatdown-style fights. Vin Diesel, The Rock, Michelle Rodriguez, and Gina Carano had some awesome fight scenes too, really liked those. And there were a mega crapton of ludicrously over-the-top stunts and cheesy moments & lines (mostly from Tyrese and Ludacris on the cheesy lines), I lost count of them! Without giving anything away, the stunts were just totally beyond anything I've ever seen before and were so awesomely ridiculous I couldn't help but laugh at them!

Not sure if it's spoilerish to say, but the Formula 1-style cars in the movie were all kinds of bad-ass too. Damn those were awesome, would love to see them again!

I also really liked how the opening credits were basically a montage of all 5 previous FF movies. It gave F6 a great sense of being a finale before the movie itself actually started.

I have to hand it to Justin Lin, F5 and F6 have probably been the best movies in the franchise for me. He really, really knows how to shoot these movies. His frames & edits are nearly expertly done.

I'm wary of an F7 only because of the change in director. If Justin Lin continued I'd be excited.

F6 was so cool & awesome I actually want to see it again (along with STID, which was also awesome) before it comes out on Blu-Ray. I almost have to say it was too bad it wasn't filmed in 3D, I think 3D could have added another element of awesomeness to it. :awesome:

The soundtrack was pretty good too and varied between some orchestral stuff to hip-hop to electronica. I tend to prefer electronica specifically when it comes to racing scenes, as it helps add a sonic beat to visually fast pacing.

Btw, F6 had one of the most gratuitous scantily-clad multi-hot-chick shots that I've ever seen. And it was in slow-motion too which made it easier to ogle all of them. Which only added to the awesomeness of course!

Plus another reason to see F6: the "Fate of your planet" MOS trailer. :awesome:

I just got out from seeing this movie. Amazing movie!! I enjoyed the hell out of it haha Now these are my kind of movies, over the top action sequences, hardcore fights, street racing, comedy, a good story and a diverse cast!! Just awesome!!! Can't wait for the last one!!

Someone else mentioned this to me but if you think of the events of the runway sequence not as happening one after the other, but at the same time, it doesn't seem as long a runway.

And Dom's super jump on the bridge was somewhat plausible if he's being thrown form a car going 100 mph.

Saw it, loved it! I'm torn because I can't decide if Fast Five is still my favorite of the bunch or if Furious 6 has taken that spot.

Tyrese (and Luda) is hilarious! And the chemistry between the cast is ridiculously awesome! I really feel like they're a family.

I'm thinking about checking it out again later today.

You should definatly watch Tokyo Drift. There is no reason not to watch it. It is not that bad, to be honest. It's funny. And large part of the story is actually about racing and street racing (the other movies only have 1-2 actual race scenes).

That's a good point. Plus, I believe that runway was in Spain, and Spain has the longest NATO runways in the world.

Amazing how many more times I hear this argument being made when it's not a Michael Bay year. Anyone try's to bring up this point during one of those summers and it's met with a "destroying cinema" type of response.

glad to hear people still do enjoy these types of films.
Not sure what you are trying to say to be honest? It is a bad thing or a good thing that people still enjoy these types of films? And which argument were you referring to? The one I made or ones I was replying to?

What's so bad stunt wise with the first three? They had pretty grounded action sequences. None of the stunts in this film were believable. cars flipping through buildings and the drivers walking away without a scratch/catching people while flying through mid air. OK :whatever:

There was nothing grounded about the first 3 films, you can't race around the streets like they did in these movies and not leave dead bodies everywhere. The Charger crash in the first would have at the very least put Dom into hospital with multiple breaks and fractures and then you have jumping the car onto a boat in 2 Fast. All these films exist in a hyper reality, if you want a realistic car chase check the one out from Jack Reacher or Ronin, The Fast & Furious series has never cared about realism.

They've never cared about realism and you can tell they love it. They know everything is over the top and have the time of their lives doing it.

Yeah, 7 was already inevitable. ****, 8 is probably in the pipleline.

I read a thing recently, and apparently 7 and 8 and 9 are sort of being planned as a new trilogy sort of like how 4,5, and 6 form their own trilogy.

They might as well do them all back to back. If that is true that is

So I may or may not have been trolling FF6 on Tumblr last night while waiting for Arrested Development to premiere, when I came across this adorableness:

Now I'm sad that The Rock and Pebble isn't actually happening, lol.
