TMZ says the Vin/Dwayne beef is completely over and both are all in for Fast 9.
Money helps people get over things pretty quickly.
What's interesting is that in the movie, they don't really have that much screen time together except for the last scene. So makes me wonder why Rock was calling Vin out for always being late when they weren't even in the same scene.
Funny how quickly sudden baseless irreconcilable beef is resolved once the movie where your characters are supposed to be beefing is released and has made a billion dollars. I bet they broke Kayfabe as soon as the movie was in the can.
Cipher will obviously return to go after Dom and the team, maybe she recruits her own team of super drivers to pilot ultra high tech F1 cars or something, I mean at this point it's hard to buy anything as a threat to Dom as they've made him indestructible.
On the location front I'd like to see them do something water based and set a chase in the Pyramids, it would also be cool to see a sequence in San Francisco as a nod to Bullit.
That sounds really cool. Her coming with villains from previous films could be really really fun.
I think water is the next obvious thing, though, honestly, there needs to be a volcano. Just really go all in on the tropical setting, y'know? An underground tunnel of water collapsing behind them, outrunning tidal waves, maybe getting caught in a tornado hurricane and still driving - though, as you imply, only Dom could pull of such shenanigans.
Have they dealt with Dom's blood relatives yet? Having his dad show up could be a thing.
Y'know, I honestly was thinking about how the FnF franchise has nowhere to go but space, but they really do just need a little creativity in terms of environments and precision car stunts to really do things. I think the idea going forward should be more akin to samurai or wild west gunslingers, where their car is their sword/gun and they have a mastery that allows them to do things that others simply cannot.
But I also echo the statements on the heisting and street racing. It'd be great if they could roll that up into a plot point, perhaps through a returning villain who makes it take center stage.
