Fast and the Furious 9: The Fast Saga

Vin suggested on Facebook that there's another short film coming a la Los Bandoleros.

Cipher hiring her own team of drivers I wonder if she would reach out to the villains of the earlier films

Would be neat to see some of the previous villains return. The ones from the 2nd and 4th films are still alive, waiting to get their revenges.

Oh now come on that would never work. Who would want to watch a movie about aliens?

TMZ says the Vin/Dwayne beef is completely over and both are all in for Fast 9.

Money helps people get over things pretty quickly.

What's interesting is that in the movie, they don't really have that much screen time together except for the last scene. So makes me wonder why Rock was calling Vin out for always being late when they weren't even in the same scene.

Funny how quickly sudden baseless irreconcilable beef is resolved once the movie where your characters are supposed to be beefing is released and has made a billion dollars. I bet they broke Kayfabe as soon as the movie was in the can.

Cipher will obviously return to go after Dom and the team, maybe she recruits her own team of super drivers to pilot ultra high tech F1 cars or something, I mean at this point it's hard to buy anything as a threat to Dom as they've made him indestructible.

On the location front I'd like to see them do something water based and set a chase in the Pyramids, it would also be cool to see a sequence in San Francisco as a nod to Bullit.

That sounds really cool. Her coming with villains from previous films could be really really fun.

I think water is the next obvious thing, though, honestly, there needs to be a volcano. Just really go all in on the tropical setting, y'know? An underground tunnel of water collapsing behind them, outrunning tidal waves, maybe getting caught in a tornado hurricane and still driving - though, as you imply, only Dom could pull of such shenanigans.

Have they dealt with Dom's blood relatives yet? Having his dad show up could be a thing.

Y'know, I honestly was thinking about how the FnF franchise has nowhere to go but space, but they really do just need a little creativity in terms of environments and precision car stunts to really do things. I think the idea going forward should be more akin to samurai or wild west gunslingers, where their car is their sword/gun and they have a mastery that allows them to do things that others simply cannot.

But I also echo the statements on the heisting and street racing. It'd be great if they could roll that up into a plot point, perhaps through a returning villain who makes it take center stage.

I'd love for Braga and Carter Verone to come back. The only bad thing is Verone would be coming for Brian just as equally as he would for Roman. And...dang.

I always figured that if they brought Verone back for revenge, and he needed a second target besides Roman, they'd go with Eva Mendes's character Monica Fuentes.

Maybe they can kill off Roman next.

Given that his character is entirely useless.

And annoying as hell.

Oh, what a shame that would be....

Though considering they love to kill off all the long term female characters, that might be a legit problem. :funny:

Pretty bold statement. Hope she sticks to her guns when Universal comes in to negotiate.

She does have a point though.

What else can she do do support women characters in this franchise? Better to leave because of this than money .

Stop killing them off in awful ways, and treating them like they are disposal compared to the male characters?

Bring back Gal from the dead.

Someone's contract is up and haggling for more money. Good for her. Hope she gets a raise.

And if she does end up leaving it's her loss. This franchise is the most exposure she gets.

Yep. I'll bet she makes enough off residuals from the franchise that she could never have to work again either. So she's not even losing that big.

I hope she doesn't leave. She's one of my faves

Her only hope is Machete in Space.

She isn't wrong.

That's why I honestly don't get why people rag on Michael Bay and his movies particularly the Transformers movies, for being sexist but then the FF movies still can get praised. Both series are not good in how they treat women. I mean not many film series are...but that's another thread

What they did with Patasky's character was really dumb in F8. What they're doing with Nathalie Emmanuel's character is really dumb. I felt really bad for Brewster and having to have her written out (I barely see her in anything other than these, but her IMDB says she's been working).

That being said, Rodriguez leaving wouldn't be a big loss to me other than losing the sole main female character. Letty is cool but I didn't miss her in Fast Five or even care when she was evil in Fast 6
