Fast and the Furious 9: The Fast Saga

I watched this last night and I was just bored out of my mind for most of it, probably because there was no Dwayne Johnson and he's more or less been my favorite part about the latter half of the franchise. The series is now a full-blown parody of itself but I already knew that from watching the trailers. I just had to see it for myself. That being said I don't think it's the worst in the series but I'm glad that I skipped out on it in theaters.

I thought it was fun. They handled Han’s return really well. So much better than dar5 sidious’ in the Star Wars flicks.

it’s actually just what the doctor ordered for the current time, it’s still nice just to put your mind in gear

Well of course. As far-fetched as Han's return is, they at least explained it, which was something that was never done for Palpatine in Episode IX.

I love how both of these guys just can’t help making themselves sound like bigger A-holes even when they express regret. “Yeah, I shouldn’t have publicly said anything about him because I try to keep sh** private. But by the way, every other person in the movie told me afterward that they also think Vin is a d**k.”

I felt the same.

You know what’s really weird? More than Dom becoming a God who can do no wrong and is worshipped by all… it’s that Vin Diesel just gets worse with each performance. And I thought he was always doing this over the top grumble acting, but I went back to check out the original Fast and the Furious, and he’s actually really good in it! Probably his best in the whole series.

There he actually felt like a complete human being and his emotional scenes talking about his father actually show some humanity and depth. Now, he’s just acting like what a human may act like. Sorry, a god may act like. He’s sort of just bought into this weird personae along the way.

Vin has consistently given a better performance doing voicework as Groot than he has in every FF movie as Dom besides the original. He really is a much better voice actor since his Iron Giant is also unanimously praised. I can see why he felt threatened by a charismatic persona like Dwayne Johnson being around and stealing the spotlight.

Lmao, this whole situation rules

He honestly would’ve been better off starting with something like: “Dwayne, my brother who has the second biggest muscles (I’m first, btw) on set”

now we just need Tyrese to start crying like a 9 year old on camera again and we’ve got a real nice stew going

I'm sure Dwayne appreciates being put under pressure publicly :whatever:... if Vin Diesel was really serious about it, he should've called him. Now it just seems like an attempt to make Dwayne look like the bad guy if he says no.

Why do I get the feeling this whole feud is 100% staged on BOTH actor's sides?

It’s very much a song and dance for publicity

I may not know much, but I do know this: when you’re trying to level with another person, starting off your statement by addressing them as “little brother” probably is not the way to go about it, especially when the person you’re addressing is a behemoth like The Rock

Nope. Just a clash of massive egos. Both left good money on the table by not being in the same movie together. That Xander cage sequel is pure Vin fan fiction about himself, written for himself. lawd.

I mean, Vin is 5 years older than the Rock. So, little brother is somewhat appropriate.

Granted, the testosterone fueled musclehead stuff interferes with that.
