That really is cringe worthy dialogue . I'll probably just pretend 2f2f ever happened and skip over it. I watched f&f last night , really enjoyed but it was more over the top than i remembered. Either way , Vin Diesel coming back saved this franchise .

"I'm gonna kill this braga, & anyone else who gets in my way"

"You said you wanted real drivers, A real driver knows whats in his car"

"Still a Busta"

Vin Diesel really did save this franchise. TD kept it afloat after that terrible 2F2F but Diesel is the face of the F&F franchise IMo & Dom is just such a cool character, on par with Riddick IMO.

Tokyo Drift = my favorite. Either way I'd say Justin Lin saved the franchise on the creative front. I didn't dig the first two films because of the overuse of CGI. And while the last film had a cgi heavy climax it still had better practical auto stunts than the first two.

I agree DocHoliday, Justin Lin is a great director. He did and indie film called Better Luck Tomorrow and it's amazing. I highly recommend it.

Tokyo Drift proved that you need either Paul Walker or Vin Diesel for the franchise which explains its low box office. 2 Fast 2 Furious might've been bad but it did pull in a lot of money.

The franchise continued anyway though. Besides, from what I've been reading they intended Tokyo Drift to be the end anyway

It means no continuation of the franchise.

Apparently not. Plus they chose both the director and one of the leads to continue the franchise from there so TD definitely had more than a fair share of support. Even if it didn't show in the numbers.

Not to mention I have found that gear heads enjoy TD the best . Not always but most I talk to, do.

****, the action looks insane in this one. I loved when the Rock just came barreling through the window like a freakin Terminator.

Wasen't Tokyo Drift planned to be a straight to dvd movie?

Not sure, but I think I remember reading an article that said Tokyo Drift helped keep Universal out of the red that summer. Can't remember where the link for that is, but Tokyo Drift did do $158,401,402 worldwide so thats not bad.

not a fan of the first one but it was a nice entertaining B movie
the second one was just freakin horrible...
Tokyo Drift was actually enjoyable. Not sure if its because my expectations were low after the second one or because it took place in tokyo.

havent seen the most recent one... looks boring.
the trailer for this next one looks like they completely abandoned the whole basis of racing and now its mission impossible with some street thugs.

The part of Tokyo Drift that KILLS me is near the end. This was obviously to get the plot moving, but in context, it was completely ridiculous. The dad just gives his car that he's been working on to Sean, no questions asked. He pretty much was like "Oh, here you go. Go ahead, fix it up, and race with it. I mean, it's not like you racing is the reason why you got sent all the way over here to Japan so I have to deal with your ass."

Tokyo Drift and Annapolis kept them out of the red. Both had low box office but they had, supposedly, huge dvd and rental sales. Explains why Universal trusted Justin enough to keep directing the series.

Haha that was my one problem with the whole movie and it wasn't just in that scene. Everywhere this guy went people were giving him cars. Lil Bow Wow lets him drive his Hulk car after knowing him for a few minutes and then Han throws him a set of keys later on. It's like they're just giving out cars in Japan.

Thats true. Those were big films for Justin Lin
I loved his Better Luck Tomorrow and while I'm excited for this film; I'm looking forward to whenever he branches out onto something different. Because Finishing the Game just wasn't that great.

I know right. I don't know if they were just super nice or reckless as hell.

My rankings:

1. The Fast & The Furious (I)
2. Fast & Furious (IV)
3. 2 Fast, 2 Furious (II)
4. Tokyo Drift (VI?)

I only really don't like Tokyo Drift because the reason I love these films is because of Vin and Paul. It's their "series" in sense. 2 Fast was a let down per-say but still fun but the villain guy was a *****e.

I rank 'em:
1. The Fast & The Furious (I)
2. Fast & Furious (IV)
3. Tokyo Drift (VI)
20. 2 Fast, 2 Furious (II)

I really hated 2F2F.

I absolutely love the FF series with the exception of that. Singleton clearly had no idea what he was doing. He just didn't get the car culture at all. The races were beyond ridiculous. Tyrese was absolutely annoying.

Cole Hauser was good as the villain and Eva was great eye candy. Those are pretty much the only positives from it, imho.

I agree. But me personally, I just didn't see what the appeal was for the Han character.

I thought Han was emblematic of the different backdrop of the movie compared to what came before. Rather than being gruff and brooding like Dom, or kind of excitable like Brian he was more mellow, introspective. The film itself was more of a coming of age story than balls-out action. I just think the character stands out in the series because of the contrasts.

Behind the scenes pic of the Diesel vs. Rock fight:

Rock will slaughter Diesel. Dom should die at the end of this film.
