That is one insane box set...Who has the room for that? lol

For Godsake it is 8 bucks. Buy it or rent it.

I hope they one day realease a box set with the alien films, and possibly the Prometheus ones too in an Alien head like they did with the Alien Quadrilogy some years ago

I'd buy it! :oldrazz:

phew, I wonder why amazon listed the extras on the blu ray...

yeah i have the original DC, which is still great as it is...But if youd rather get the extras in a blu ray format then i guess you might have to wait for like a 10 year or 5 year anniversary or something as they like to milk DVD cash

It confused me at first. This might hurt:

It's not the same planet, ship, or space jockey.

I took it as an example of how similar events may happen, unless they find a way to link it further with coming sequels. Until then, I'll see it as an example of how sh** can go bad.

That's what I took from it, especially [BLACKOUT]with Shaw leaving in one of their ships at the end. Although I'm not sure where that leaves the little baby Alien we see in the final shot. I'm just guessing that whatever is on those ships are constantly evolving, and it could just go anywhere.[/BLACKOUT]

I enjoyed the movie though. It seems less of an Alien prequel than it just is a story surrouonding what they found in the first movie. Which works, since we never really needed a direct prequel to explain the events of the first movie down to the last detail.

It's definitely the best movie from the Alien universe that I've seen since Aliens (and I saw that twice in theaters when it first came out). Fassbender and Rapace were great, and the 3D was amazing.

Shaw is certainly more personable then Ripley...I mean Ripley looked like she can kick all kinds of ass

You know, after having a day to sit back and digest the film, I think for me it's probably my 2nd favorite of the Alien series. Alien being first, then Prometheus, and then Aliens. I was never a huge fan of Aliens to be honest. It's a fun action flick, but I thought it was much more dated then Alien. I didn't actually watch all the alien movies until about three years ago. And I watched them pretty much all in a week with my buddy who's a huge fan of the series. When I first saw Alien I was just blown away by the beauty of the cinematography and how good some of the shots and SFX looked considering how old the film was. Yes, there were some effects that were obviously not as good (Ash's fake head being one) but on the whole it was superb. And I've always been a fan of the JAWS esque style horror that Alien had (you barely see the monster until the end type of thing.) It was just a great movie.

Aliens I thought was good, but the cinematography didn't touch what Alien did, much of the dialogue really dated the movie (the soliders in general), and having multiple Aliens really reduced the fear level that Alien had. Though, I really consider Aliens in a different sub-genre then Alien. Alien is definitely scifi horror, while Aliens I consider scifi-action/suspense.

Prometheus really goes back to the tone set in the original Alien and I love that. Also, the cinematography is understandably gorgeous. I see a lot of people complaining about the story, but honest it reminds me a lot of the first Alien. It had a fairly simple story on the outside, but many of the underlying themes were much more complicated. And I honestly enjoyed that a lot of the questions posed in Prometheus were left unanswered, just as many of the questions in Alien were left unanswered.

I think one of my only gripes about the film was that
Guy Pearce died. I wanted to see more from him. His character was great.

Overall, I just really enjoyed this movie. Also, to clairify, I think Aliens is still good movie, but it's just not on the same level as Alien. For me at least.

I want to know how much it cost.
Here it was in euros which was between 150-250 euros when it came out, what i do remember is that 2 years ago on christmas it cost 19-29 euros (which is 15-25 $) and it was the last Alien Anthology head on sale, when i finally got to the store that sold it they told me that it was sold the day before i got there :csad:

I found it strange that it wasn't released in the USA, seems like it was only released in Europe

I wanted Shaw to just stop talking. If it was just me and her on the ship, I would have airlocked her. :o

Our packaging usually blows. :csad:

It should do well enough outside of North America to earn a sequel as all the films in the series from Alien 3 to AvP:R had a higher international box office.

Hopefully the sequel lands in 2015 but with this series who knows. I'm sure Fox would like it in three years after scheduling their summer 2014 slate.

2014 or 2015 would be perfect

holy crap is this movie bad??

slash film just gave it a 4/10 and i keep seeing negative reviews

and i keep seeing plenty of criticism and only positives i keep seeing is visuals

Adam Quigley gave it a 4/10. But they're /filmcast is up and I can't wait to hear what the other two have to say about it. Over an hour, quite nice.

I think an argument can be made that the film is "bad", but I wouldn't call it bad. Incredibly underwhelming and predictable. Far from great, perhaps not even good, but not bad.

Spill.com gave it a full price (2nd highest on their ranks) but then again, you should see it based on if you are interested in it.

But Korey didn't give his opinion yet and we all know his word is the law over there.

The worst thing you can do with this movie is listen to critics. The people who are giving negative reviews seem to just be mad that the movie wasn't spoonfed to them.

Out of all the negative reviews I've read, almost always the reviewer misses a big point of the film.

Red Letter Media will have their review up later tonight. :woot:

Actually, that is exactly what it was after the first 4 mins. :awesome:
