You're always consistent. Contradictory people annoy me.

Same. And there are a lot of contrarians around these parts.

Also keep in mind that I give the MCU films each an automatic extra .5/10 for the effort of all being interconnected and cohesive. I'll do the same for the DCCU if and when they get me to actually love it the way I do the MCU. But MoS wasn't a promising start, IMO.

That's... unique. Not knocking you, it's just the first time I've read something like that.

Well, they're doing something all the rest aren't doing so why shouldn't they get a tidy reward for the effort(if it works). .5/10 felt reasonable to me.

Fave - Iron Man. Probably the most well realized and entertaining protagonist I've seen in the genre. The movies have managed to hit all the important wickets for me - exhilarating action, solid dialogue, well choreographed fights, excellent storytelling & humor, and a romance that in no way feels as shoehorned and cliched as what I've seen elsewhere. Pepper has proven to be a stellar example of a leading lady and love interest. With that said, the supporting characters have been similarly well portrayed, friend and foe alike. Iron Man 2 was mediocre, but 3 more than made up for it. All in all, my favorite trilogy thus far.

Highest quality - Batman. What hasn't been said? Even in spite of a few low points, the franchise has produced several landmark movies in the genre.

A special mention has to go to Spider-Man. While I'd love to be able to say that this franchise is my favorite, the last three duds ensured that wouldn't happen anytime soon, with TASM 2 being the final nail in the coffin. Sad, Spidey deserves so much better.

If you include animated films, Batman by a huge margin. Stuff like Mask of the Phantasm, The Dark Knight Returns, Under the Red Hood, Return of the Joker, etc is still leagues ahead of any live action comic movies.

Live action only, I guess Captain America. I actually don't like any of the live action Batman movies except the 1966 and 1989 ones. I dig the first Raimi Spidey, and I think the ASM movies are decent-ish. I like Blade and Blade II is okay, but III is terrible. Both Ghost Rider are bad. All three Iron Man movies are decent to good. Both Thors are okay. Swamp Thing is alright, Return isn't. The only Supes movies I like are the first Reeve one and Man of Steel. X-Men has four really good movies, but the rest are really bad.

So yeah, I'm going with Cap because I think both his movies were good, and he hasn't had any stinkers.

There's only five though so the rest is just one film

He's probably including the two Wolverine ones as well.

Wolverine Origins and The Last Stand.

I'd say Origins, X3 and TW are all misfires to one degree or another. Actually I'd say the way I listed them there was from worst to least bad.

Ditto.

The Wolverine is one of the best examples of mediocrity I've seen in the genre. Not good by any means, but not overtly bad either. About as forgettable, boring, and middle-of-the-pack as it gets.

That's about right in resect to Origins, though I liked X3 slightly more than TW. X3 didn't fully explore everything it could have with its plot, but there was more potential there than TW.

Yes, and a massive improvement over XO:W that still managed not to be all that good a movie(about on par with MoS and TASM2 for me...a 5/10-5.5/10 or there abouts). Just shows you how abysmal XO:W actually was...I mean it's up there with Anghulk and B&R among the worst big budget ones ever made. I find even X3(bad and dumb as it is) to be much superior to XO:W. I think I gave XO:W a 2/10 or something like that. It takes something special to be THAT bad when you're speding hundreds of millions of $ on this stuff.

I decided to place MCU's Captain America on equal footing with Christopher Nolan's Batman as my favorite comic book superhero film franchises.

Christopher Nolan's Batman, with Captain America right behind.

The Dark Knight Trilogy and Hellboy.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Batman dominating this poll as expected. :lmao:

MFW people say DC should retire Batman:

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

After CW, Captain America is my favorite franchise.

That's where I am now. Last year, it was Spidey because the two versions in his live-action films slightly edged the Burton/Nolan Batman incarnations. But after seeing Cap's world get better with each outing, he surpassed any solo franchise.
