Days of Future Past Favourite moments in 'X-men: First Class'

Aside from the whole movie, I'd say the part that got the most reaction from me was the Wolverine cameo. Went in knowing about it, and it still got me laughing a good five minutes. Almost as classic as his identification line in X1:

"Hey, it's me."
"Prove it."
"You're a dick."
"...Okay."

My favorite moment of the film was the scene between Erik and Charles where Charles helps him in rotating the satellite dish to face them both. When Charles was playing back that memory for Erik between him and his mother, that just had me in tears. It's moments like these that I personally believe will bring audiences back to see it again and again.

If I had to vote I'd say this one as well.

So much to list. When Magneto dropped Shaw out of the ship and called the mutants his brothers it felt epic.

Frankenstien's Monster, without a doubt. "My parents didn't have a name. It was taken from them by pig farmers and tailors." :word:

I though it was pretty neat how Magneto held him up in the air in a crucifix-like position.

- Everything with Magneto. They nailed everything about the character except the look. And considering I don't give a damn about that, perfection.
- Xavier drinking and flirting, especially with Moira
- The music
- The whole last act of the film
- Shaw surprising me as a villain that can really have an impact

- Shaw disintegrating the CIA into ashes

That scene was unbelievably well executed. I must say I have no idea how some people are saying "bad" CGI work. WETA and the other companies did a terrific job.

- Crashing of the Blackbird and the Submarine onto the island looked like miniature work. It was amazingly well done, not to sound dismissive but the people that are calling bad CGI in certain parts don't know what they're talking about.

I'd say the scene where Magneto attacked the humans, his and Charles fight and everything leading up to Charles getting crippled was pure gold to me. When Erik deflected that bullet my heart was pounding in my chest. great stuff

I'd say the moment when Xavier gets paralyzed was pretty great. "No Eric...You did this" McAvoy and Fassbender brought the goods. Kevin Bacon was outstanding as well. The cameo was great even though I knew about it before I saw it. What I didn;t expect was Rose Byrne is lingerie.....which I quite liked.

my favorite part of the movie is where the red guy (forgotten his name) teleports people in the air and drops them and you see a scene with men dropping from the sky like hail. that is some pretty scary s*** and for the first time I actually found the idea of mutants in real life frightning rather than exciting.

I agree, it was brutal.

Oh dear god were they great. The look on Erik's face after he sees what happens to charles was amazing.

Besides saying the whole darn movie here's mine

Charles meeting Raven and accepting her into his home
Erik going nuts in the camp with Shaw laughing like a mad scientist
All the James Bond stuff Magneto does. Dude's an action star!!!
The bar scene "I'm Frankenstein's monster, and I'm looking for my creator" Bang!!!!
There invasion of the russian compound and capture of emma frost.
The hellfire club's invasion of the cia
the training montage, from Havok's struggles and beast's face when Xavier says I have complete and utter faith in you, to Mystique's weightlifting scene, and then the one I love the most, Magneto turning the satellite towards them after being shown a memory of him and his mother. Just a beautiful example of powers serving the story and characters.
Wolverine's Cameo
"All your life society has tried to tame you. It's time for you to be free"
Beast's POV transformation
All the mutant vs mutant action. I think this had the best of that in the series. The most creative use of powers and matchups.
Magneto lifting that sub was beautiful and powerful.
Magneto using the coin to kill shaw with Xavier screaming
Magneto and Xavier's confrontation on the beach, with the gasp in the theater with seeing how he was paralyzed.
"I prefer.....magneto"

This movie rocked!!!!

One of my favourite power displays was Azazel and his 'raining men' moment.

Shaw's introductory scene with the coin and the count of three
All of Erik's hunting of the Germans scenes
Beast's POV transformation
The x-kids in the CIA room messing around
When Xavier sees into Erik's memories ad then the turning of the satellite
Wolverine's cameo of course
Some parts of the training montage like Havok controlling himself, Beast running, Banshee's learning to fly
Erik and Raven's scenes
Xavier and Erik's chess scene on the eve of Cuba
Azazel, Beast and Havok falling through the air towards the ships
The coin coming back into it and killing Shaw through the head
Xavier's paralysis
Xavier's last scene

sooooo many...

-Magneto in Argentina(this was the scene where I knew I loved the film)
-Xavier/Mystique first meeting
-Shaw and the hellfire club on the boat killing that guy from 24 lol
-Moira in the lingerie in the hellfire club
-Magneto/Xavier recruiting Angel(man she's hot!)
-Wolverine's cameo
-the entire sequence where Shaw, Azazel, and Riptide come to recruit the x-men. I love how Azazel killed the agents by dropping them. I was shocked Oliver Platt was killed like that. I thought he was gonna be in it more. Darwin's death was pretty moving.
-Every conversation between Mystique and Magneto.
-Xavier/mystique scene early on where she's brushing her teeth and he rejects her as a potential love interest. Tells me a lot about Xavier.
-Banshee learning to fly, Magneto pushing him lol.
-Xavier helping Magneto move the satellite.
-Beast and Raven talk about cure and mystique rejects Beast's offer.
-The entire climax was great but the highlights were: EVERYTHING with Banshee, Banshee/Angel air fight, Magneto vs. Shaw, Magneto killing Shaw/Xavier's reaction, Magneto/Xavier showdown over the missles, Xavier getting paralyzed, Mystique's reaction to the paralyzing and her joining Magneto.
-Magneto busting Emma out and his final line of the film.

The film was simply a masterpiece -- best X-men (and possibly Marvel) film ever.

Here are some of my favorite scenes:

-The opening sequence with young Magneto
-The following scene where he displays his mutant ability in full glory subsequent to the murder of his mother
-McAvoy's interpretation of Xavier -- he brought wit and intelligence to the role
-Xavier constantly showing fascination and delight with human genetics (e.g., the scene where he comments on the MC1R gene responsible for Moira's reddish-brown ("auburn") hair.
-The scene with Magneto in the Argentinian bar. (The look of dread in the faces of the "pig farmer" and "tailor" when they realize Magneto is not one of their own was classic.)
-The scene where Xavier first uses Cerebra was fantastic and very well done.
-The Wolverine cameo was perfect.
-Havok displaying his mutant ability for the first time -- such a cool power.
-Moira's chemistry with Charles
-How January Jones personified the role of Emma Frost
-Hank McCoy's transformation into the Beast
-Seeing Xavier's mansion in all of its glory. Magneto was clearly a little envious of Xavier's upbringing.
-Magneto's character development throughout the entire film
-The scene where Magneto halts and reverses the direction of the incoming missiles
-The scene where Xavier realizes that he's unable to move his legs
-Xavier's "bald" comments
-The sheer emotionality of the film in general (As brilliant as Dark Knight's Chris Nolan is, this is where he often falters in my opinion. Thanks to Mathew Vaughn for showing how it's done!)
-Amen.

Mine Were:
Recruitment
Magneto Hunting Nazis
Wolvie Cameo
Shaw Attacking CIA
X-Training
Rebecca Romjin cameo
Cuban Missile Crisis Scenes
Professor X getting shot (That was the favorite it happened so quick)
Magneto's Last Line in the Film

My Favorite Lines were from Magneto
My parents diddnt have a name...It was taken from them...by pig farmers...and tailors
Kinky
oh and Logan's "Go "F**ck Yourselves."

In a movie full of great moments, my absolute favorite would have to be Erik and Shaw in the reactor room. You knew it was going to come down between these two and once Shaw was at Erik's mercy it's like the movie went into slow motion. I had been cheering for Erik throughout the whole movie and seeing him don the helmet and cutting out Charles sent me into an X-tizy. I was so into the scene that I whispered "Kill him, Erik."

One of my favourite power displays was Azazel and his 'raining men' moment.
Hallelujah (someone had to do it).

One of my favorite moments was: "Congratulations you just stopped world war III, sent him to the brig" "What?".

Also the Cerebro sequence really surprised me cause I was expecting from the soundtrack to be almost a recreation of the "X-Men" scene, and then seconds later it was a groovy recruiting scene with lots of 60's tech and printers writing coordinates. Should have been longer.

I simply cannot choose.

The whole damn film.

Wolverine cameo. It was the most Wolverine moment in the whole damned series.

One of my favourite power displays was Azazel and his 'raining men' moment.

Oh thank god I wasn't the only one thinking that exact thing! I managed not to hum the song, but it was a close thing.

I loved the 'mutant kid bonding' scene, especially Moira's total mom-esque "WHAT are you doing?" at the end.

And, it goes without saying, the beach scene was phenomenal.

the bar scene - could have been longer though, let the tension build up more
azazel dropping agents from the sky - one of the most awesome and brutal display of mutant powers ever
the coin scene at the end
beast KO-ing azazel
